Steven Spielberg has made a name for himself after decades in the film industry. Being one of the most talented filmmakers of all time, sheer talent and will to make something lasting has gotten him to where he is today. Having broken records with his movies, as well as the Oscar wins and nominations he gets for them, he deserves the title of one of the greater directors of all time.

While power and glory can force an artist to make even better art, sometimes, such vanity can also get in their head. Spielberg, at the very peak of his career, fell from the precipice of his success so hard, that he could have easily not gotten back up. It's murder on the dancefloor but you better not kill the groove, and the best way to avoid that is by showing your love and appreciation for Felix Catton and Oliver Quick. The latest feature from Academy Award-winning writer/director Emerald Fennell, "Saltburn," is a movie she made specifically to arouse and disturb audiences and one that people couldn't stop talking about throughout 2023. Even more, people haven't stopped making gifts and fandom merch in honor of the film. This is typically a surefire sign that one of the bigger-named companies needs to step in with some officially licensed memorabilia, and Funko has heard the siren call of the "Saltburn" army. Funko is releasing a new collection of Pop! vinyl figures of Jacob Elordi's Felix and Barry Keoghan's Oliver, both dressed in the outfits worn for Oliver's Midsummer Night's Dream-themed birthday party.

The new Fortnite season brings Greek mythology to the players with eye-catching locations that may fix anyone’s gaze upon them. It’s gods like Zeus that await players in the game to face off in fierce battles to get hold of their Mythic weapons and wreak havoc over others. Epic’s tendency to keep the roster of Mythics is not new and this time it has added five new weapons for players to conquer the battlefield.
Chapter 5 Season 2 likely has a lifespan of two and a half months with players requiring reaching level 200 in order to get all the rewards there are in the season. Anyone who can beat 3 levels a day can easily get to the end of the rainbow to emerge as a champion in a godlike manner. But this won’t be a cakewalk, especially when it comes to acquiring Mythics.

National Geographic has greenlit “Sally,” a new documentary about Dr. Sally Ride, the first American woman to go to space in more than 40 years ago, the network announced Thursday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.
From director director Cristina Costantini (“Science Fair”) and producers Dan Cogan (“Icarus”) and Lauren Cioffi (“Naomi Osaka”), the film will delve into the life of the groundbreaking astronaut and the sexism she faced as one of very few women in space exploration at the time. “Sally” (working title) will feature never-before-seen archival footage in space and on the ground, along with interviews with Ride’s fellow astronauts Anna Lee Fisher and Kathy Sullivan, friend (and one-time tennis opponent) Billie Jean King, and her life partner Tam O’Shaughnessy, the last of whom also serves as executive producer.

Greed may not be good, but it is universal. And while America would appear to have a monopoly on movies about the pursuit of wealth for wealth’s sake, plenty of other nations have exported their version of the rags-to-riches tale — of which Saudi Arabia’s Oscar submission, “Alhamour H.A.,” is just the latest. Like its security-guard-turned-swindler protagonist, director Abdulelah Alqurashi’s film doesn’t lack for ambition. Unlike him, it never reaches great heights before falling back to earth.
Hamed’s (Fahad Alqahtani) Icarus-like flight takes him from Mecca to Jeddah, where he gets a taste of the good life from afar as a security guard at an oceanfront residential building; after resigning to avoid being fired over his habit of making too much conversation, he calls in a favor from his brother-in-law and begins working at a cell center. Hamed insists he can sell anything, and does...

In Greek mythology, after the Titan Prometheus enraged the god Zeus by stealing fire and gifting it to mankind, Zeus chained him to a rock, while an eagle devoured Prometheus' liver for eternity. Such was the price the Titan had to pay for his so-called transgression, and with the discovery of fire, mankind undoubtedly shifted to its next phase of civilization. Robert Eggers' haunting, intense "The Lighthouse" ends by embodying Prometheus' fate within a layered allegory: The lifeless body of Ephraim Winslow (Robert Pattinson) lies on the beach, his entrails being consumed by pecking seagulls ad infinitum. It's a haunting image that feels disturbingly final, charged with interlinked symbolism that bleeds into one another as the film crawls to its horrifying end.

To borrow a rhetorical device from ESPN’s great sports documentary series 30 for 30: What if I told you there exists the most dramatic college football team of all time?
Said football team was filled with enough off-the-wall stories and colorful characters to make any would-be documentarian salivate. These characters and their stories include: a megalomaniacal head coach who got fired from his first NFL job mid-season for feeling up an undergrad at a steakhouse named after him, a star defensive end who was arrested for a DUI just days before the NCAA Southeastern Conference Championship game, and a tight end who committed literal murder.
That team is real. It was the 2005-2010 University of Florida Gators. Now, what if I told you there is a just-released docuseries about said team … that completely omits all of the dramatic information cited above and more? That docuseries is also real.

A teenage son wants to follow his a legendary storm-tracker dad’s footsteps – with the late lamented Anne Heche sparky in one of her final roles
Every generation needs its own VFX-heavy action thriller about storm-chasing meteorology nerds and there hasn’t really been one since Twister in 1996. A supercell, by the way, is a mega-huge tornado-thunderstorm weather event that the Brody family – dad Bill (Richard Gunn), his wife Quinn and Bill’s brother Roy (Skeet Ulrich) – gets frightfully excited about. When audiences consider 3D as a medium, the abiding image seems to be of items popping out from the screen — a limb here in “Jaws 3D,” a dildo there in “Jackass 3D” — and perhaps that is indeed how most filmmakers have used the medium. Not enough directors have capitalized on the ability of 3D to convey a sense of physical depth; fewer still have seized on the possibility of adding philosophical depth. Thank goodness, then, for Wim Wenders. The first of two new films by the German veteran in this year’s Cannes official selection, “Anselm” is a tour-de-force 3D 6K portrait of the artist Anselm Kiefer, both rich in ideas and breathtaking in technical execution.
Though undoubtedly a powerful confrontation with some of the biggest themes art can tackle — mortality, permanence, being, nothingness, all the hits — “Anselm” remains an accessible experience, partly because of its manageable 93-minute runtime and...

Let's think of Marvel's phases like albums. If Phase One is a game-changing debut album, and Phase Two is the sophomore slump beater, Phase Three makes the MCU pop royalty -- it's been at the top of the charts for years. By this point, Marvel feels too big to fail. Then, enter Phase Four.
Phase Four finds the McU's messy imperialist pop mode. At this stage, it has nothing left to lose, so it throws out all sorts of tones and approaches to see what sticks because it can. That makes it torn between bolder artistic instincts and reliable hit-making. Some moments rip while others land with a thud. Phase Four is like U2's "Pop" or Taylor Swift's "Reputation." As a cohesive record, it doesn't work. But its disparate collection of tracks includes some Hall of Fame ballot efforts and ones that audiences can and will return to again.

Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis” isn’t your typical biopic. But then again, why should it be?
A character as influential and flamboyant as Elvis Presley is deserving of a different approach and that is what Luhrmann delivers, offering up a fractured fairy tale and cautionary fable about fame and influence in midcentury America. At the center of his film isn’t Elvis but Colonel Tom Parker (played by Tom Hanks under considerable prosthetics), the carnival barker-turned-Svengali that had a little too much sway over the King of Rock ‘n Roll. Sure, he helped elevate Presley in the public consciousness but also trapped him in a gilded cage.
True to form Luhrmann gives the story an extreme stylistic overlay; songs bleed and warm into each other, remixed frenetically with modern artists and current sensibilities. It’s overwhelming in all of the best ways and fits thematically with what Luhrmann is trying...
