Lionsgate and WWE Studios have hired visual effects specialist Zach Lipovsky to direct their Leprechaun reboot, reports The Wrap . Lipovsky was a finalist on the Fox reality show "On the Lot." WWE's Dylan "Hornswoggle" Postl will play the title character, which was made famous in the original 1993 movie by Warwick Davis. The new film will not connect with previous mythology of the franchise in any way. It was previously said that the tone is going to be a little darker, more traditional horror. Harris Wilkinson wrote the script for the film. Lionsgate's Erik Feig, Michael Paseornek and John Sacchi will oversee the project for the studio, along with co-producing partners Michael Luisi and Richard Lowell of WWE Studios.
