Toronto – Casting directors are finally getting their American TV close-up. HBO Documentary Films has grabbed the U.S. TV rights to Tom Donahue’s feature documentary Casting By, which had its world bow at the Toronto International Film Festival this week. The film about casting directors and their use of taste and gut instinct to choose on-screen talent includes interviews with actors and directors like Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, Clint Eastwood, Glenn Close, Robert Duvall, and Al Pacino. The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival Monday and next screens at the New York Film Festival October 12.
