- His career took a different turn from 1935, when he was taken under contract for three years at the Münchner Volkstheater (in Munich), from 1935 to 1938. During this period he also played small roles in two films.
- Born in Graz, he spent most of his career, playing in that city's theater almost continuously from 1918 to 1935 (with only two seasons in Aussig, Czechoslovakia, from 1924 to 1926).
- The theater remained his main activity after the war as well and he only played one more time in front of the camera for "Der keusche Adam" (1950).

- In the first decades of the career he remained busy in his birth town Graz. Only from 1935 he took over other engagements in cities like Munich, Karlsbad and Vienna.
- He was only appearing in movies by chance.
