With X-Men '97 in full swing on Disney+ and Deadpool & Wolverine fast approaching, will Marvel Studios soon pull back the curtain on WandaVision follow-up, Agatha?
That's the prevailing theory because the profile picture on WandaVision's social media accounts has just been updated with a splash of familiar purple. It doesn't give us much to go on, though we'd say there has to be some significance to this when Agatha Harkness remains trapped in Westview thanks to the Scarlet Witch!
We'd caution against getting too excited about an imminent reveal because it's previously been reported that Agatha is aiming for a September launch. Disney+ has also developed a frustrating habit of promising its MCU offerings surprisingly close to their respective premieres.
Despite it feeling like we've been waiting a long time for the series, things appear to be going well for a spin-off which has previously been dubbed "Agnes of Westview,...

2021 was a great year for the actress Kathryn Hahn, all thanks to her top-tier performance in the hit tv show WandaVision. However, TV screens don’t tell you everything, leaving some hidden facts that you may not know about her. Her role as Agatha in WandaVision may have been her break out role, but the truth is, she isn’t new in the entertainment industry at all. Instead, the actress has worked in the industry for over 20 years. After her first appearance in How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days in 2003, she stayed consistent with her silver screen...

If you didn’t know Erik Bloomquist’s She Came from the Woods loves the 80s like Pac-Man loves Mrs. Pac-Man, the first few minutes should sell a tubular on-screen time warp. Hormonal camp counselors in short shorts prepare for summer’s end while Kim Wilde’s “Kids In America” blares over opening credits like any other Camp Crystal Lake or Camp Arawak copycat. Bloomquist imbues a love of 80s sleepaway horror titles into a contemporary take on Friday the 13th, The Burning, Madman — some titles are even name-dropped in dialogue. It’s hardly a modern satire like Cabin in the Woods but avoids feeling redundant through recreations of golden-age genre magic that’s gone out of style. There’s a passionate attempt to prove life can find new ways in a decade’s old slasher formula, and She Came from the Woods keeps the beat(ings) alive for now.

“Agatha All Along, Part 2,” anyone? Kathryn Hahn says that Agatha: Coven of Chaos, the WandaVision spinoff in which she’ll reprise her role as Agatha, may have its share of musical moments. “Who knows, there may be a little song here or there… but no one is saying anything about that — certainly not me!” the actress told TVLine on Saturday, January 14, as she promoted her new show Tiny Beautiful Things at the Television Critics Association winter press tour. And with Agatha scheduled to start filming next week in Atlanta, Hahn said it’s the character’s costumes and nails that she’s most excited to revisit. “They’re fabulous!” she added. Disney+ announced Agatha: Coven of Chaos in November 2021 — when the project was titled Agatha: House of Harkness — noting that WandaVision creator Jac Schaeffer would be the executive producer and head writer. The following July, Disney+ revealed that the then-retitled...

Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to get underway this year with the release of three new tentpole films and twice as many Disney+ shows. Bringing up the rear on the TV side of things is "Agatha: Coven of Chaos," which rolls cameras in Atlanta next week and is due for a late 2023 release
Ahead of its production start, "Agatha: Coven of Chaos" (formerly titled "Agatha: House of Harkness") has now locked in its directors, according The Hollywood Reporter.
A spin-off of Marvel's very first Disney+ series, "WandaVision," "Agatha: Coven of Chaos" centers on Kathryn Hahn's character, Agatha Harkness, who spent much of her previous screen time disguising herself as Wanda's nosy neighbor, Agnes. It was only toward the end of the seventh episode of "WandaVision" that viewers learned Agnes/Agatha's true witchy nature, to the tune of the Emmy-winning, retro-sitcom jingle "Agatha All Along.

We've just run down the best (and worst) of 2022. So, what's got us excited for 2023?
There is so much good TV waiting in the wings, not to mention some movies we've been aching to see.
Here's a list of everything we're excited about in the entertainment world.
Teen Wolf: The Movie (Paramount+)
MTV's biggest scripted hit returns with a movie, and we are so here for it.
Enemies were plentiful in Beacon Hills, and they're mounting once again, forcing Alpha Scott McCall to gather a trusted band of allies to ward off evil with their many respective (supernatural) talents.
What has us the most worried is Allison Argent's return from the dead, bow in hand, hunting the man she once loved.
This is going to be good, so plan on catching it on release day, January 26.

Janelle Monáe had been a huge Rian Johnson fan since his 2012 film “Looper” and, like everyone, loved “Knives Out” (2019). “I said, ‘If he calls me, it’s a yes.’ And then when he sent me the script, I saw the character, I got the twist, I was like, ‘Hell yes,'” Monáe tells Gold Derby of getting the offer for “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.” “And then they had the nerve to say, ‘Would you be available to shoot this in Greece by chance?’ F— yes. Like, get me off this couch.”

Plot: Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) travels to a remote island in Greece to solve a murder involving a reclusive tech billionaire (Edward Norton).
Review: Knives Out will probably become one of TIFF’s biggest success stories. Considered a risky gamble in its time, the movie proved to be a sensation upon its first screening. In the end, Knives Out was a smash hit at the box office that Netflix (who snapped up the rights to the series) has turned into what’s bound to become their first real franchise. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is bigger and perhaps even more brilliantly written than the first, sporting a tremendous cast led by Daniel Craig and Janelle Monáe.
If Glass Onion suffers at all, it’s that we go into it expecting a twisty murder mystery, while the original took us by surprise as it was so unique. It was...

“The School for Good and Evil” author Soman Chainani took inspiration for his narration point of view from the one and only Taylor Swift.
“I, growing up was super over-emotional, especially when it came to romance and boys and all those things,” he told TheWrap in an interview. “I always used to say, ‘Look, if Taylor Swift can make so much money writing music about the boys she hates, why can’t I?’ That sort of stuck with me. I just think whatever she’s doing, ‘Pay attention.’””
Netflix’s film adaptation of “The School for Good and Evil” took almost ten years to get made. Chainani published the first book in 2013, turning the first page in the fairytale of Sophie (portrayed by Sophia Anne Caruso in the film) and Agatha (Sophia Wylie), two best friends who find themselves in what they think are the wrong spots in the not-just-legendary school.

Wakanda Forever has now closed the book on Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the conclusion of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law brought an end to the TV show aspect. While the past few years of Marvel have certainly been overstuffed, the Disney+ shows have acted as an interesting development to this expanded superhero narrative.
Doing TV in the MCU is nothing new. They gave us seven seasons of Agents of Shield, 164 episodes of the Netflix shows, a season of Inhumans that nobody watched, and various other projects. It’s just that there was rarely much of a connection to the movies in any major way. Agents of Shield was lucky enough to get Samuel L. Jackson for five minutes, but otherwise had to rely on appearances by Lady Sif and Powers Boothe’s character from Avengers. The Netflix shows took place in the MCU,...

HBO’s “House of the Dragon” closed its debut season on a high note. During the Oct. 17-23 viewing window, the last day of which saw the “Game of Thrones” prequel air its season finale, placed third on Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10 chart and scored just over 1 billion minutes viewed on HBO Max.
Because “House of the Dragon” airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. and drops simultaneously on HBO Max, the finale’s first few hours of availability were included in this week’s figures. That means when Nielsen releases its findings for the week of Oct. 24-30, the chart will reflect how the show fared throughout the seven days after which Episode 10 was released.
Meanwhile, Amazon Prime Video’s “The Rings of Power” proved to be a little lacking in staying power, with the “Lord of the Rings” prequel series dropping off the overall chart one week after airing...

“The School for Good and Evil” author Soman Chainani had the chance to step into the world (and castle) he constructed in a creative cameo appearance similar to that of Jenny Han in the adaptations of two of her beloved trilogies “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” and “The Summer I Turned Pretty.”
“The cool thing about Netflix, especially with a big fandom, they encourage author cameos. Jenny Han’s a really good friend, but she’d done it and Leigh Bardugo had done it in ‘Shadow and Bone.’ Paul [Feig] was gracious enough to ask me to do it, and that was really my first day on set,” Chainani told TheWrap of his appearance in the Netflix adaptation of his book series.

Good TV is made not only by great stories but also by great characters.
Through characters, viewers can learn, identify with, criticize and emulate certain traits they most identify with in characters and the narratives surrounding them.
Television leaves little to no ambiguity when it comes to deciding the moral leanings of its characters. Mostly it’s as binary as good and evil.
Realistically speaking, no one character is either good or bad. It’s a mixture of both but heavily leaning to one side.
Below, we have compiled some of the best characters who, at some point, switched sides permanently or semi-permanently.
13. Dolores on Westworld
Dolores's story makes many viewers sympathize with her despite her being an android.
In the early seasons of Westworld, Dolores, like many other hosts in the park, found herself on the receiving end of the guests. Their cruelty, depravity, and lack of humanity landed squarely on the hosts' shoulders.

We all know it was Agatha all along behind the scenes of the Marvel series "WandaVision." That's true, even though Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) proved herself to be quite a formidable force in the little town she and Vision (Paul Bettany) settled in. It was all her warping of reality through her grief that changed things, not that Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) helped matters. A witch who has been in the magic game for centuries, she couldn't stand that Wanda was so good at it. At the end of the series, Wanda turns Agatha into what she pretended to be through each episode; a suburban nosey neighbor.
As we know, though, Kathryn Hahn is far too awesome for that to be the end, and we're getting a Disney+ spin-off series centered around her. That show, which was originally called "House of Harkness," is now "Agatha: Coven of Chaos," and the casting news...

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo, the cast of Marvel’s Agatha: Coven of Chaos, has grown by two! The highly-anticipated WandaVision spinoff series will conjure Ali Ahn and Maria Dizzia for the Disney+ presentation starring Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness.
The news that Ahn and Dizzia are joining the series comes hot off the umbra-black heels of Aubrey Plaza and Joe Locke (Heartstopper) signing onto the spinoff, with Plaza believed to be playing a villain. Morgan Le Fay, anyone? Enchantress? Eh? Ahn and Dizzia’s roles are being kept under wraps, though with Marvel tapping into Marvel‘s magical side, they could be anyone.
Kathryn Hahn reprises her WandaVision role of Agatha Harkness for the new series, with Emma Caufield again playing WandaVision’s Dottie too. Who Locke will play remains a mystery, though Marvel fans speculate Locke will star as an aged-up version of Wanda and Vision’s son, Billy, also known as Wiccan.

The two are the latest cast members of the Marvel Studios series for Disney+, joining series lead Katherine Hahn as well as Joe Locke, Aubrey Plaza, and Emma Caulfield Ford. The series will see Hahn reprise the role of Agatha Harkness. Exact plot details, including the character desriptions, are being kept under wraps.
Variety has reached out to Marvel Studios for comment and will update this story should they respond.

They join lead Kathryn Hahn, who is reprising her role as WandaVision bad gal Agatha, male lead Joe Locke as well as Aubrey Plaza, who is believed to be playing a villainous role. Details about Ahn and Dizzia’s characters are being kept under wraps. A rep for Marvel declined comment.
In addition to Hahn, Emma Caulfield Ford also is expected to reprise the role of Dottie from WandaVision.

Looks like we haven't seen the last of Agatha Harkness after all. The finale of "WandaVision" left the door open for the evil witch to return, and Disney+ is making it happen. Get ready for another new MCU series, "Agatha: Coven of Chaos."
We're not quite sure yet what the series will be about, but we do have two major pieces of casting news. Aubrey Plaza is joining the series in an undisclosed role. Variety first broke the news of her casting on Nov. 2. Popsugar reached out to Disney and Plaza's reps for comment. The news came a day after the outlet broke the news that "Heartstopper" actor Joe Locke will also be joining the cast. His role is currently unknown, though fans have speculated that he'll play some version of the hero Wiccan, aka Billy Maximoff - one of Wanda's sons.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos has conjured up another exciting cast member.
Variety is reporting that Aubrey Plaza, who is currently starring on HBO's The White Lotus, has joined the cast of the WandaVision spinoff.
Plaza joins Kathryn Hahn, who plays the titular Agatha Harkness.
Agatha was introduced to the MCU on WandaVision as Wanda's nosy neighbor, who was later revealed to be the biggest villain of the series.
Harkness quickly became one of the McU's best villains, so a spinoff delving deep into her past was a no-brainer.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, which isn't a surprise. Marvel Studios like to keep things under wraps until closer to transmission.
Projects in the MCU typically feature some big guest stars tethered to the wider mythology.
As a result, there's no telling what the plot will be, though it's hard to imagine it not involving Agatha going on a mission...

Aubrey Plaza will be grabbing a broomstick to join Marvel's series "Agatha: Coven of Chaos," according to Variety. The talented "White Lotus" actor will appear alongside Kathryn Hahn, who memorably embodied the devious witch Agatha Harkness in the Disney+ series "WandaVision" last year. Plot details about "Coven of Chaos" are as scarce as usual for a Marvel project, and Plaza's role has yet to be revealed.
"Agatha: Coven of Chaos" was initially introduced in reporting as "House of Harkness" before its name change was revealed at Comic-Con this summer. Along with Hahn and Plaza, the series is reportedly set to include "Heartstopper" breakout star Joe Locke as well as Emma Caulfield Ford, who appeared in "WandaVision" as Sarah Proctor, Aka Dottie. We can’t imagine conjuring up better casting news than this: Aubrey Plaza has joined the cast of Disney+’s upcoming WandaVision spinoff Agatha: Coven of Chaos, according to our sister site Variety.
There’s no word yet on who Plaza will play, and plot details are being kept tightly under wraps, but Plaza joins Kathryn Hahn, who will reprise her WandaVision role as nosy neighbor-turned-evil witch Agatha Harkness. (The role earned Hahn an Emmy nomination last year.) In WandaVision‘s season finale, Agatha lost the battle to absorb Wanda’s magic, and Wanda indefinitely trapped Agatha in her nosy neighbor “Agnes” persona.

Marvel Studios cast a spell over Heartstopper fans on Tuesday by casting Joe Locke in the upcoming Disney+ series Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Locke rose to popularity by playing the adorable Charlie Spring in Heartstopper, a gay teenager who falls in love with his hunky classmate Nick Nelson (Kit Connor). Locke delivers a superb performance in the Netflix drama based on the comic series by Alice Oseman, and now he’s set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Kathryn Hahn reprises her WandaVision role of Agatha Harkness for the new series, with Emma Caufield again playing WandaVision‘s Dottie too. Who Locke will play remains a mystery, though Marvel fans speculate Locke will star as an aged-up version of Wanda and Vision’s son, Billy, also known as Wiccan. While this remains unconfirmed, introducing Wiccan would tie Agatha: Coven of Chaos to the events of WandaVision and introduce another critical member of the Young Avengers.

It’s unclear who Locke will play in the new series, although online speculation has suggested he could be playing an older version of Billy, one of the kids that Wanda had in Westview (she also spent much of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” trying to get back to them). Besides Locke and Hahn, Emma Caulfield Ford has also been confirmed to return to the series, playing her “WandaVision” character Dottie.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to grow, particularly its young universe. We're seeing the good guys slowly build their young cast, leading up to the inevitable formation of the Young Avengers, with young heroes taking up the mantles of aging or dead Avengers. Now, it is time to fill in the young villain side, or at least fill the young side of the villains' world.
This is to say that we're starting to get casting news for the villain-centric "WandaVision" spinoff "Agatha: Coven of Chaos," which was announced last year and is set to bring back Kathryn Hahn as the show-stopping witch Agatha Harkness — of "Agatha All Along" and the death of Sparky fame — for an unspecified story being kept very much under wraps.
Even if we have no idea what the show is about, we do know Agatha is not alone. That's because recent breakout heartthrob Joe Locke is...

Heartstopper star Joe Locke has been cast as the male lead opposite Kathryn Hahn in the upcoming Disney+/Marvel WandaVision spinoff series Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
Locke’s character and plot details are being kept under wraps, but sources describe the character as a gay teen with a dark sense of humor. Hahn is reprising her role as WandaVision bad gal Agatha in the series. Emma Caulfield Ford is also set to reprise the role of Dottie from WandaVision.
Hahn’s Agatha Harkness appeared in Disney+’s WandaVision, from series creator Jac Schaeffer. WandaVision centered on Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany), two superpowered beings living their ideal suburban lives in the town of Westview, NJ, who begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. Agatha, who won viewers over with her “Agatha All Along” number, is a witch from Salem and fan-favorite breakout character.

"The Grand Budapest Hotel" is Wes Anderson's apotheosis, the film which is key to understanding his artistry. Indeed, his most recent film, "The French Dispatch," feels like a mere echo of "Grand Budapest."
His most visible trademarks are there. Every regular from his troupe of actors show up for parts large and small. The tone is deadpan comedy with tragedy sprinkled in. Anderson's filmmaking is quirky yet precise; he prefers center framing and adorns his shot subjects with exaggerated costume and set design. "Grand Budapest" includes all that and, combined with the use of miniatures, it looks like it was filmed in Anderson's own personal dollhouse.
Beneath the beauty and the hilarity, though, what does it all mean?
The film is the story of the eponymous, fictional hotel in the equally fictitious country of Zubrowka (named for a Polish Vodka brand). Though the story and setting is fictional, the film's inspirations weren't.
