Following military service in 1954, Franklyn was hired by Metro Goldwyn
Meyer Studios as a Production Assistant. The primary job was "high
level gofer" for studio Chief Executive Dory Schary's office. He was on
constant call to assist production needs in Special Effects and Set
Design In 1958, He joined The CBS Radio Network on Sunset boulevard as
a news writer in the field. News worthy police/fire calls were a race
to get on location to write the story for the staff announcer. In 1959,
a friend and former MGM Producer called Franklyn from Warner Brothers
with an offer; a five week location shoot in Las Vegas for "Ocean's
Eleven." Back to CBS, and a transfer to Minneapolis a new Radio career
was launched. With a microphone and a format, "Paul Franklyn's
Reflections in Jazz" August 1969 it was time to return to Southern
California and retire to a quiet life in health care and teaching.
1996,Franklyn and his wife Carole formed Genesis Productions and plays
were written with one four year musical production "Tribunal" Franklyn
and Carole are retired and living in Louisville, Kentucky
