A federal officer has laid out chilling new details of the investigation into a violent break-in Friday at the home of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and husband Paul Pelosi, who was severely injured in the attack.
In a sworn affidavit with the U.S. District Court of Northern California, FBI Special Agent Stephanie Minor — a domestic terrorism specialist assigned to the bureau’s San Francisco Field Office — described how the alleged assailant, 42-year-old Berkeley man David DePape, told police that he planned to take Speaker Pelosi hostage, interrogate her, and possibly break her kneecaps.

Alex Jones was not in a Connecticut courtroom today as a nearly 1 billion judgement was read against him in the defamation case brought by families of children murdered in the Sandy Hook School Shooting, whom he has repeatedly and erroneously accused of being so-called crisis actors. But Jones did find the time to do a simulcast mocking the judgement — and by extension the families — as it was read.
“50 million! 80 million! Blah, Blah. You get a million! You get a 100 million! You get 50 million!” he shouted as anguished family members cried on screen even as the settlements were awarded them.
“Do these people actually think they’re getting any of this money?”
As the jury reads the damages and the Sandy Hook parents weep, Alex Jones is on his broadcast, laughing and assuring his audience that he won't actually be paying any of this money.
"Do these people actually think they're getting any of this money?...

A jury has found InfoWars founder Alex Jones liable for 965 million worth of damages in a defamation suit brought by the family members of eight victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.

NBC News on Thursday issued a strong statement of support for one of its reporters, Brandy Zadrozny, who was targeted in a segment on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight.
In the segment last night, Carlson and Darren Beattie, a former speechwriter to Donald Trump, talked of Zadrozny’s reporting, accusing her of trying to “ruin” the lives of supporters of the president by seeking out identifying information of anonymous Twitter users.
“Why would NBC News be doing something like this?” Carlson asked.
Zadrozny is an investigative reporter for the network who has been reporting on misinformation and QAnon conspiracy theories, particularly on social media platforms. Last week, she wrote on a story about what she described as an online network built around the president’s claim that the presidential election will be rigged.
In a statement, NBC News said that Zadrozny “is relentlessly well-researched and sophisticated in her understanding of...

NBC News slammed Tucker Carlson and Fox News for targeting NBC reporter Brandy Zadrozny during a segment on Carlson’s show on Wednesday night.
“Fox News has chosen to smear Brandy. In so doing they have shamefully encouraged harassment and worse. Fortunately, any effort to intimidate Brandy is doomed to failure. NBC News couldn’t be prouder of Brandy, and we will continue to vigorously support her work,” the network said in a statement on Thursday.
During his show on Wednesday, Carlson devoted a segment to Zadrozny — an investigative reporter who has covered disinformation, QAnon, extremism and other conspiracy theories online — and accused the reporter of “seeking out personally identifying information about anonymous Trump supporters online.”
Carlson also brought on Darren Beattie — a former Trump speechwriter who has given speeches at conferences attended by prominent white nationalists and has since left the White House — as his guest for the segment,...

NBC News pushed back Thursday against Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson, who it says “encouraged harassment” of journalist Brandy Zadrozny in a segment on his Wednesday-night broadcast.
During the program, Carlson talked to Darren Beattie, a former speechwriter for President Trump who left the White House in 2018 after CNN reported that he had attended a conference that included white nationalists among its participants. Beattie told CNN in a statement at the time that he attended the conference and “delivered a stand-alone, academic talk titled ‘The Intelligentsia and the Right.’ I said nothing objectionable and stand by my remarks completely.”
The former Trump aide resurfaced this week on Twitter, calling out Zadrozny for examining public records to identify people who launch harassment efforts without divulging their identity. Since the segment aired, a number of NBC News employees, including MSNBC anchor Chris Hayes, have risen to her defense.
In a statement released Thursday afternoon,...
