While you continue watching “The Walking Dead: Dead City” on Sunday nights, don’t forget that another brand new spinoff series is headed to AMC later this year. The next series from the universe of “The Walking Dead” is the upcoming “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon,” and AMC shared a brand new teaser trailer during “Dead City” last night.
Starring Norman Reedus, “Daryl Dixon” is set to premiere in Fall 2023, and this sneak peek clip is titled “The Abbey.” In it, Daryl finds himself kidnapped by a group of nuns.
And we’ve got a strong feeling they’re not exactly the friendly type…
“The upcoming spinoff series tracks Daryl Dixon’s (Norman Reedus) journey across a broken but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home. As he makes the journey, though, the connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan.”

The next chapter of The Walking Dead universe gets underway this fall with the premiere of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.
AMC shared a two-minute sneak peek for the Paris-set spinoff during Sunday's telecast of The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1 Episode 2.
The premiere of the clip comes one week after we got a teaser that showed Daryl on an overturned boat.
In the latest footage, Norman Reedus' Daryl returns with one mission:
To find Rick Grimes and return home to the Commonwealth to be with his found family.
On The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 24, Daryl departed the Commonwealth on his motorcycle, leaving fans to ponder what happened to him next.
The good news? The clip offers some context, revealing that "all I found is trouble."
Finding himself across the world, Daryl should not be counted out.
He tells his friends and family on the radio that he wants them to know he tried.

When it was first announced that the Daryl Dixon character (played by Norman Reedus) was going to be getting a spin-off once The Walking Dead reached the end of its eleven season run, the project wasn’t intended to be a solo adventure. Daryl was going to be joined on the show by his longtime friend Carol, played by Melissa McBride. Then came the surprising decision to set the show in Europe, which caused McBride to drop out because she couldn’t relocate to Europe for extended periods of time. Sometime this fall, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will begin airing on AMC and AMC+ – but a set pic that made its way online and was shared by Reedus and McBride’s fellow Walking Dead alum Jeffrey Dean Morgan (now starring in the spin-off The Walking Dead: Dead City) has revealed that McBride’s Carol will not be entirely absent from the show!

Plans for “The Walking Dead” spinoff featuring fan favorite characters Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) dramatically changed when it was announced a year ago that McBride was exiting the series. As AMC gears up for the Fall 2023 premiere of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon,” news that McBride may appear in the series after all arrives courtesy of “The Walking Dead: Dead City” star Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Morgan took to Twitter today with an image of McBride and Reedus together in character, saying “Well well. We’re sorry Norman… fer talking oodles of shit to you when we thought melissa wasn’t doing show! Golly… this must of been in the works for ages! (Twas from start) Goddamn it’s great seeing these two together!”

Jeffrey Dean Morgan — who came to Norman Reedus’ defense last year when the actor was unfairly blamed for Melissa McBride’s exit from The Walking Dead spinoff — just dropped a tantalizing tip about the upcoming AMC drama.
In a tweet Thursday, Morgan posted a picture of Reedus and McBride as Daryl and Carol and said “well well. We’re sorry Norman … for talking oodles of shit to you when we thought Melissa wasn’t doing show! Golly…this must of been in the works for ages! (Twas from start). Goddamn it’s great seeing these two together! Can’t wait!”
A spokesperson for the show would not comment.

Saturday Night Live comedian Bowen Yang doesn’t see how referring to Raquel Leviss from Vanderpump Rules as Rachel as being a big burn.
Ever since the affair broke that Leviss was having an affair with her close friend Ariana Madix’s boyfriend Tom Sandoval, fans and the Vanderpump Rules cast have referred to Leviss by her legal name, Rachel, using it in a derogatory way. Leviss explained that she changed her name to Raquel in grade school when another student was also named Rachel.
The Rachel reference has endured as a slam, but Yang said using it in that way is not the drag people think it is – and they should stop.
Calling Raquel Leviss Rachel is not like dead naming a transgender person, Bowen Yang said

It looks like Melissa McBride's leave of absence from The Walking Dead universe is over.
When news broke that The Walking Dead was ending after 11 seasons, it was announced that McBride would star opposite Norman Reedus in a spinoff.
Months later, it was revealed McBride had departed the series because a location shift to Europe was "logistically untenable" for the actress.
As a result, the series became a solo vehicle for Reedus, with fans left in shock because there was no telling whether McBride would return to the fan-favorite role she's played since The Walking Dead Season 1.
"Melissa McBride has given life to one of the most interesting, real, human and popular characters in The Walking Dead Universe," an AMC said in a statement at the time.
"Unfortunately, she is no longer able to participate in the previously announced spinoff focused on the Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier characters,...

Well, this looks different.
AMC shared the first footage of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Sunday night during The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1 Episode 1.
The latest spinoff in the expansive Twd universe picks up with Daryl as he "washes ashore in France and struggles to piece together how he got there and why," the network's official description teases.
"The series tracks his journey across a broken but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home."
"As he makes the journey, though, the connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan."
The clip shows Norman Reedus as Daryl in an overturned boat in the middle of the ocean.
Given the mind-numbing trajectory of Fear the Walking Dead Season 8, we wouldn't be surprised if the next chapter in the franchise tried to imply that Daryl floated across the ocean and landed in France.
