Ex-pro tennis player Justin Gimelstob has filed court docs to get a restraining order against the man he beat up back in October ... claiming the man is hellbent on revenge. Gimelstob was involved in a physical altercation with Randall Kaplan in Brentwood, CA on Halloween 2018. Kaplan claimed he suffered injuries from the incident. Gimelstob claimed Kaplan instigated the fight. Gimselstob ultimately pled no contest to felony battery -- which the judge later reduced to a misdemeanor.

A day after Justin Gimelstob entered a no-contest plea to a violent Halloween 2018 attack on a man on the streets of West Los Angeles, the Tennis Channel is trying to figure out whether it wants him to come back or cut him loose.
“We are sure that Justin is pleased that this matter has been resolved,” a spokesperson for the Sinclair Broadcasting Group-owned channel said Tuesday. “Since he took his leave of absence from Tennis Channel in November 2018, we have been waiting for the legal system to run its course.”
“Now that this is behind him, we will have internal meetings among our executives – and meetings with Justin – to discuss his future with Tennis Channel,” the outlet concluded, with an ominous tone for the former Grand Slam doubles champion.

One of Tennis Channel’s top personalities, former Grand Slam doubles champion Justin Gimelstob, is being sidelined in the wake of a recent arrest on felony battery charges and an expose in The Telegraph listing a string of alleged assaults by the former tennis pro over the past three years.
“Justin asked Tennis Channel for a leave of absence while he works through this issue,” the Sinclair-owned network said in a statement to Deadline. “As he is a longtime, valued member of our network family, we of course granted it to him. We believe that in today’s climate, perhaps more than ever, it’s important to recognize due process and the fact that there are multiple sides to every story. We don’t want to rush to immediate judgment, and will follow this closely as more detail comes to light.”

Quite a while back, our NY guy Bob Doto wrote a short praise of Randall Kaplan's short film Boxhead, and now, not only is footage available, but you can now buy this short along with his others on DVD. What are they all about? Horror, some Lynch, some stop motion animation.. Just read below:
In Id, a man is tormented by love and a twisted creature in his apartment. In The Basement, two men confront each other in a damp, filthy basement. In The Child, a withered man nurtures a growing creature. In The Insides, a man believes something is growing inside him. Finally, in Boxhead, an old man is visited by a childhood friend that could be his darkest nightmare.
The victim in each story is forced to confront a fear that is eating them from the inside out. Their choice? Deal with the fear or die with it.
