Young and the Restless (Y&r) spoilers suggest that despite being only 34 years of age, actress Camryn Grimes has truly created a soap opera legacy in the land of Genoa City.
She entered the daytime drama in 1997 at the age of seven, delighting fans as the sweet, sassy, and smart Cassie Newman. Sadly, Cassie passed away in 2005; however, Camryn continued to grace the canvas playing the ghost of Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) daughter; a role she reprised for a dream episode, just last month.
Still, Camryn returned to the show full-time in 2014, playing Cassie’s long-lost twin, Mariah Copeland. Camryn has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy award six times during her time on the Y&R, and snagged the statue twice, once for her portrayal of Cassie in 2000, and once in 2018 for her portrayal of Mariah.

Sharon has endured many heartaches as one of The Young and the Restless‘ beloved heroines. Most of Sharon’s problems stem from her on-again, off-again relationship with her ex-husband Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). But Sharon’s also endured having her daughter Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) kidnapped, arrested for murder, and diagnosed with breast cancer.
However, Sharon’s most gut-wrenching moment came in 2005 when her daughter Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) died. Cassie sustained injuries in a car wreck after driving Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) home.

Before hitting it big on The Young and the Restless, Case was a model/dancer embarking on an acting career. At 17 years-old, she landed her first acting gig on the ABC soap opera General Hospital. Case played Dawn Winthrop, the long-lost daughter of Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson).
While the role helped launch Case’s soap opera career, she admits she was scared. In an interview with The Locher Room, Case reflected on her time with the ABC drama. “That was frightening. I had not gone to acting school yet.

Camryn Grimes has been on The Young and the Restless since 1997, playing Cassie Newman and Mariah Copeland. Like many actors in the soap opera world, she prioritizes health and fitness. However, they don’t have to be complicated. Grimes has tips for incorporating these activities into a busy life, such as having simple yet nutritious snacks.

Grimes told Soap Hub in 2022 she wasn’t into sports as a child because “acting took up so much” of her time. However, these days, she incorporates fitness into her life.
For example, she loves rock climbing. “I used to work as a rock-climbing instructor … really connected me to my body for the first time in my life,” Grimes said. “It’s such physical work, but it’s also a puzzle.

Soaps are known to bring back familiar faces for big weddings, funerals, and other family gatherings — like Thanksgiving! But Michael Graziadei, who returns to The Young and the Restless today, isn’t just coming back for turkey and a slice of pie. The actor, who first joined the show in 2004, is making his stay a more permanent one. During his eight-year-run in Genoa City, Daniel worked as a photographer, got caught surfing the web for porn at work (oops!), and had brief marriages to both Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Amber Moore (Adrienne Frantz). Perhaps “Graz” (as he’s affectionately known by cast and crew) is most remembered for the storyline in which Daniel played an indirect role in the death of beloved Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes). Originally, it was believed that an inebriated Daniel was behind the wheel of the car crash that claimed Cassie’s life. However, Christine Williams...

The 2018 Daytime Emmys will be handed out on Sunday, April 29, but the winners in the drama acting categories have already been decided by blue ribbon panels that viewed sample performance reels. In the race for Best Supporting Actress, Camryn Grimes has earned her fifth career Emmy nomination for CBS’s “The Young and the Restless.” She has played Mariah Copeland on the show since 2014, but before that she portrayed Mariah’s twin sister Cassie Newman, a role that earned her an Emmy for Best Younger Actress in 2000 at age 10, which made her the youngest acting winner in the history of the Daytime Emmys. Can Grimes’s submission help her win a second Emmy, and her first as an adult?
The submission begins with Mariah kissing Tessa (Best Younger Actress nominee Cait Fairbanks). Mariah is apologetic about the kiss, especially since she is in a relationship with Devon (Bryton James) and...

Camryn Grimes (“The Young and the Restless”) is pre-nominated for Best Supporting Actress for the first time, but she’s no stranger to daytime TV or the Emmys. Though she’s only 28 her career stretches back more than two decades, and she was nominated for four Emmys before she was even old enough to vote. Can she graduate to her first adult nomination — and maybe even a win? Her character, Mariah Copeland, fell in love with another woman in 2017, so she would join a relatively short list of actors who have won for Lgbt roles.
Grimes originally joined the cast of “Y&R” in 1997 as Cassie Newman, the daughter of Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case). she earned Emmy nominations for Best Younger Actress in 1998 and 1999 before winning in 2000 at the age of 10, which made her the youngest drama acting champ in the history of the awards.
