Cheryl-lee Fast is a writer/producer turned actor. Her latest work as an actor includes a feature spot on Superman & Lois, a leading role in the play The Catering Queen which premiered at The Metro and an invitation to showcase her play at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland.
Cheryl-lee has extensive experience as a film producer. She has won various awards for her films such as a Gemini Award, a Philip Borsos Award, and a Leo Award among others. Before creating her own production company "Fast Productions", Cheryl-lee was mentored by notable figures in the industry such as, Stanley Fox (VIFF and CBC), Raymond Massey, Shelley Gillen (Corus, W) and John Dippong at Telefilm Canada.
Cheryl-lee also has extensive experience in education. She ran the film department at The Vancouver Film School for many years and then went on to be the head of film at the Shanghai University location. Her role was split between script doctoring and developing the Shanghai administration to support Hollywood style filmmaking structures while still honoring China's story telling and cultural mandates.
Cheryl-Lee supports various not for profits for the homeless (including living in Japan as a missionary). She supports mental health initiatives specific to acute care with youth suffering from trauma and suicidal ideology. She loves experimental theatre and stand up, and is active in the community with Pi Theatre, PTC, Jericho Arts Club and The Metro. She has her Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance.
Her acting and improv training includes, The Meisner Acting Studio in Ireland, Baron Brown in Los Angeles, RailTown in Vancouver, and at the London Clown School with Jon Davison.
In her spare time Cheryl-Lee writes short stories, screenplays and plays. Her short story work has been published in a four part Sci-Fi anthology series alongside award winning writers showcased in the anthology. Her plays are under dramaturgy mentorship in Toronto and Vancouver. Her screenplay has a first look with USA distribution.
