- Daughter of Dr. Charles F. Fishback (a pediatrician and part-time dance instructor) and dancer Katherine W. Fishback, who founded Fishback Studio of the Dance in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1945. Following a professional dancing career in Los Angeles, Kathie returned to Albuquerque to teach at the family dance studio.
- Former sister-in-law of Cissy King, famous as a dancer on The Lawrence Welk Show (1955) and herself a product of the Fishback Studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
- Television dancer in the 1960s and 1970s, a regular on such programs as The Dean Martin Show (1965), The Carol Burnett Show (1967), and NBC Follies (1973). She also toured with "Follies" host Sammy Davis Jr. in 1973.

After remarriage to Hollywood session guitarist Mike Anthony, she is known as "Kathie Anthony" or "Kathie Fishback Anthony" (reflecting her maiden name). In 2020, Kathie and Mike are the co-owners of the Albuquerque dance studio founded by Kathie's parents.

While she was able to walk again after rehabilitation, the extent of her injuries effectively ended her dancing days, though she continued to take an active role at the Fishback Studio in Albuquerque.
