The new spy thriller set during World War II entitled The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare has the unique distinction of being a somewhat true account of not only a pivotal mission during the campaign, but also of the germination of the character of James Bond – to a certain extent at least.
Ostensibly based on true events documented in recently declassified British War Department documents, the film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare imparts the tale of an organization created during World War II under the guidance of Prime Minister Winston Chruchill. This “top-secret” unit is comprised of a group of men (and one woman) brought together by Gus March-Phillips (Henry Cavill) to undertake an audacious mission that could alter the course of the war against the Nazis.
Phillips is recruited for this mission by Brigadier Gubbins (Cary Elwes) – otherwise known as “M” – and his second in command Ian Fleming (Freddie Fox...

Spoiler Alert: This article discusses mild plot points in the new movie “The Beekeeper.”
David Ayer’s new film “The Beekeeper” is an action movie extravaganza that’s reminiscent of the best Schwarzenegger and Stallone flicks of the ’80s. Jason Statham stars as Adam Clay, a man who seeks vengeance on the call center that scams one of his friends (played by Phylicia Rashad). Unfortunately for the criminals, led by nepo baby tech bro Derek Danforth (Josh Hutcherson), Statham has a secret past that makes him an ass-kicking machine.
Ayer and Hutcherson broke down our burning questions about this blood and honey-soaked extravaganza.
Why did you want to take on “The Beekeeper” as your next action movie?
David Ayer: It was an opportunity to work with Jason. The script itself had the magic elements, like a story that has amazing twists and a sense of heart that is hard to find in these movies.

In 1843, London publishers Chapman & Hall released A Christmas Carol. Written by Charles Dickens and illustrated by John Leech, it was inspired in part by Dickens’s anger at inequality in his country, especially as it affected children. Despite its aversion to the upper classes, A Christmas Carol was an immediate hit among readers and critics. Given the book’s popularity, it’s no surprise that movie makers have picked up on the story many times. Between its clear redemption arc and ghostly premise, the story has everything that a good movie needs.
Still, not every adaptation of A Christmas Carol is created equal. So if you’re looking for the best of the worst man in film and literature, check out these ten great movies. And if you don’t like my picks, well, bah humbug I say.

Netflix continues to lead the way with their documentaries reevaluating the cultural impact and personal lives of controversial blondes. Their latest is director Ursula Macfarlane’s “Anna Nicole Smith: You Don’t Know Me,” which seeks to tell the real story behind the voluptuous blonde bombshell who died of an accidental drug overdose in 2007.
The documentary reveals that Smith was no angel, whose excesses ended up putting her on a path of destruction. In comparison to their previous documentaries, it’s easily one of the more negative and pessimistic explorations of femininity and fame. But for those looking for something new about Smith’s life it has its share of shocking new revelations. Below are five new discoveries revealed in “Anna Nicole Smith: You Don’t Know Me.”

“Mad Men” begins its final stretch of episodes on Sunday night at 10 on AMC, and we asked a handful of TV critics, as well as several TV producers (some of whom have had experience ending their own shows) to predict what might happen when all is said and done for Don Draper and friends. Some took the assignment very seriously. Some opted for the ridiculous. Some fell in between. Damon Lindelof (Co-creator, "Lost"/"The Leftovers") There is a knock on Pete's door. He answers. There's a ten year old child standing there in a suit. "Hello, father..." he says, "I just want you to know that I am going to write a television show one day. And my portrayal of you will Not be flattering." Pete runs his hand through his receding hairline, shaken, but imperious. "What's your name, little boy?" The bastard son glares at his father, "Matthew." he says.

In 2005, actor John James was asked by Vermont-based, low-budget filmmaker David Giancola to produce the director’s next movie. James enjoyed enormous fame in the ‘80s playing the character of Jeff Colby in Dynasty and had subsequently appeared in a number of TV shows and movies, including three directed by Giancola. But the actor was keen to try his hand at producing and so was all ears when the filmmaker made his pitch. “He said, ‘I have two movies,” recalls James. “One is a kids film called Robo Dog and the other is Illegal Aliens.’ I said, ‘Let’s do Robo Dog.

Anna Nicole Smith's former boyfriend Larry Birkhead is selling off the late model's possessions to raise money to secure their daughter Dannielynn's future. Before she died in 2007, Smith launched a legal battle to secure more than $300 millio from the estate of her late husband, oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall.
The wrangling continued after her death with the promise of providing a massive trust fund for three-year-old Dannielynn, but a Texas court threw out the claim in March and a subsequent appeal was rejected. Birkhead has now resorted to selling off his late lover's memorabilia to fund the tot's private education.
He tells Reuters, "It's like, do I want to hold on to one of Anna's dresses, or do I want to try to help Dannielynn's future? Dannielynn has different needs than other kids. She has to have security because we have a lot of curious people and it creates a bit of a problem.

Anna Nicole Smith's former boyfriend Larry Birkhead is selling off the late model's possessions to raise money to secure their daughter Dannielynn's future.
Before she died in 2007, Smith launched a legal battle to secure more than $300 million (£188 million) from the estate of her late husband, oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall.

He tells Reuters, "It's like, do I want to hold on to one of Anna's dresses, or do I want to try to help Dannielynn's future?
"Dannielynn has different needs than other kids. She has to have security because we have a lot of curious people and it creates a bit of a problem. And now that she's starting school, she'll need to go to a private school. I think Anna would appreciate that these items are going to help Dannielynn thrive and flourish and continue being the great kid that she is. We have money. We have more than enough to survive on. (Auction proceeds) would just supplement that."
The sale, held by Julien's Auctions, will take place on 26 June in Las Vegas and will include Smith's Mercedes sportscar, bronze statues and furniture, as well as gowns and paintings.
A slice of the proceeds from the auction will also go to the late model's charity, the Anna Nicole and Daniel Wayne Smith Foundation, and a dress which Smith wore in an advert for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) will raise money for the animal rights organisation.

Latest: Anna Nicole Smith's son Daniel died from an accidental drug overdose, a jury looking into his death has ruled.
Daniel died in the Bahamas in September 2006, just three days after his mother Anna Nicole Smith gave birth to her daughter Dannielynn.
The inquest aimed to establish the 20-year-old's exact cause of death, and, in the five months since its November start, has heard testimony from Anna Nicole's former lovers Larry Birkhead and Howard K. Stern, as well as a number of Daniel's friends.
Autopsy results released in December found Smith died as a result of a lethal combination of methadone and anti-depressants Zoloft and Lexapro.
Earlier this month, the magistrate instructed the jury to discuss four possible options as the cause of death - accident, misadventure, non-dependent drug use and an open verdict - after banning the option of homicide.
The seven-member jury at a Nassau, Bahamas deliberated for less than two hours before delivering its verdict on Monday.
The jury has recommended no criminal charges be filed.

Anna Nicole Smith's lawyer/companion Howard K. Stern was so convinced the death of the tragic actress' son was not drug related, he insisted police check the 20-year-old's food for poison.
Speaking in a Bahamas court on Tuesday - at the ongoing inquest into Daniel Smith's death - an emotional Stern recalled his final conversation with his girlfriend's son hours before he died in September, 2006.
And he admitted he was so stunned by the youngster's death, he offered a number of non-drug-related reasons for the tragedy.
Stern told the court he's still struggling to come to terms that Smith died from a drug overdose.
Stern told the court he gave the police Daniel's food because he thought he might have been poisoned, adding, "I would never, never believe that it had anything to do with drugs. He wasn't that kind of kid."...

The late son of reality TV star Anna Nicole Smith died of a lethal combination of methadone and the antidepressants Zoloft and Lexapro - a cocktail that would have killed him within hours of consumption, a court heard on Monday. The conclusion by Dr. Govinda Raju, who performed the official autopsy on Daniel Smith, confirms the findings of a private doctor who examined the 20-year-old's body after he died on 10 September 2006 in the Bahamas. On the third day of the inquest into Smith's death, Raju said the young man had five other drugs in his system - including two that medical personnel used in an attempt to revive him after he collapsed while visiting his celebrity mother at a Nassau hospital. The former Playboy playmate herself collapsed and died on February 8 in Florida from an overdose of drugs. A lawyer for Anna Nicole Smith's former companion and lawyer Howard K. Stern, who was also in the hospital room the day Daniel died, said the drugs he was taking were all for either depression or back pain. Daniel Smith had bruises on his back and shoulders, but Raju said these could have been caused by medics who tried to revive him. Police have said there is no evidence of homicide. Police believe he arrived in the Bahamas the night before his death and went directly to the hospital where his mother had given birth two days earlier. He spent the night in a room with his mother, Stern and his newborn half-sister Dannielynn before losing consciousness. The testimony in Nassau continues.

Reality TV star Anna Nicole Smith has been hospitalized with pneumonia at the same Bahamas medical centre where her 20-year-old son died under mysterious circumstances in September. Daniel Smith died while visiting his mother in hospital three days after she gave birth to daughter Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern. Smith's attorney, Wayne Munroe, confirms the star is being treated at Doctors Hospital in Nassau. He says, "She has a slight case of pneumonia. We've had a sudden change of weather here due to a cold snap." Munroe said the hospitalization was most likely just a precaution since Smith had recently given birth adding, "I didn't gather it was anything serious." He also said Smith, who moved to the Bahamas during her pregnancy, has filed a lawsuit as part of a dispute with a South Carolina developer over the ownership of a waterfront mansion where she has been secluded since her son's death. Smith's ownership of the home, which her lawyer says she bought in July for $900,000, is the basis of her claim to residency in the Bahamas. In her lawsuit, she asks that the court recognize her purchase and reject a claim by developer G. Ben Thompson.

Police investigating the death of Anna Nicole Smith's son Daniel Smith are interviewing a Californian doctor in connection to the incident last month. The 20-year-old died on September 10 after having a heart attack brought on by a lethal combination of antidepressants and methadone. Authorities in the Bahamas traveled to the US to question Daniel's doctor along with three other people, after he died in the Nassau, Bahamas, hospital where his reality TV star mother had given birth to baby daughter Dannielynn just three days before. Reginald Ferguson, assistant commissioner for the Royal Bahamas Police Force says, "We don't have any information to cause us to change our statement that no criminality was involved." Ferguson declined to comment on who else the officers interviewed while in California. He says, "You're looking for anything you can find that can be evaluated as part of the evidence. You don't look for anything particular, you go to uncover what might have taken place." Police are expected to complete their investigation soon, possibly as early as next week, before authorities determine whether a jury inquest into the death is necessary.

The photojournalist claiming to be the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby daughter alleges in court documents that Smith was taking methadone and is hiding out in the Bahamas to keep her baby from being tested for drugs. Larry Birkhead filed court papers in Los Angeles on Monday, attempting to establish paternity and obtain legal custody of the child. Birkhead began legal proceedings after learning that Smith's close friend and attorney Howard K. Stern, who she wed in a commitment ceremony last Thursday, is also claiming to be the father. The lawsuit alleges Smith was taking methadone, which is normally used to treat heroin addiction, and that Stern has been facilitating her habit. Birkhead also claims Smith is hiding out in the Bahamas to keep her baby from being tested for drugs. He says Stern is claiming to be the baby's father for his own financial gain and that Smith had asked a third unidentified man to say that he was the father of her child - a plan which he says didn't work out because the man had already had a vasectomy. Birkhead requested in his petition that Smith and her daughter undergo drug testing. According to Birkhead's attorney, Debra Opri, "The public will be very surprised when they learn of the details of the lifestyle this baby is going to be faced with if she remains in the current situation." Smith's 20-year-old son Daniel Smith died of a heart attack on September 10 caused by a lethal combination of antidepressants and methadone, three days after Smith gave birth to her daughter.

Model Anna Nicole Smith has confirmed reports she 'wed' lawyer love Howard K. Stern on a boat near the Bahamas on Thursday, but insists the coupling is "not legally binding." The former Playboy Playmate, 38, married Stern in a spiritual ceremony onboard a catamaran anchored off Blackbeard's Cay in Nassau. The happy event came just 18 days after Smith's son Daniel Smith died from a combination of two antidepressants and methadone in the hospital where his mother had given birth to his half-sister Dannilynn on September 7. Another of Smith's lawyers Michael Scott confirmed the couple "exchanged vows before God" but admitted they didn't have the necessary legal paperwork, so the marriage would not be legally binding. Scott adds, "It was not a formal, legal arrangement." Up until Tuesday, it was widely believed photographer Larry Birkhead was the father of Dannilynn. However, Stern appeared on CNN talk show Larry King Live, insisting he was the newborn's biological father. Smith has previously been married to Daniel's father Bill Smith and Texas oil billionaire J. Howard Marshall.

Anna Nicole Smith has wed her longtime attorney Howard K. Stern in a wedding in Nassau, the Bahamas, according to US reports. Stern, who revealed he was the true father of the actress/model's baby girl Dannilynn on CNN show Larry King Live earlier this week, exchanged vows with Smith on a catamaran anchored off Blackbeard's Cay in Nassau yesterday morning, according to America's Star magazine. The wedding comes just 18 days after the death of Anna's son Daniel Smith, 20, who passed away in his mother's hospital room three days after his baby sister was born on September 7. An eyewitness to the nuptials tells the Star, "There was heavy security around the yacht, plus extra speedboats to deliver more supplies as needed from the island to the catamaran." The source adds, "Anna was wearing a pink bikini" for a post-wedding swim party. On Tuesday, Stern told CNN anchor Larry King he was the father of Smith's baby girl, disputing claims by the actress' ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead that the child was his. He went on to tell King via satellite from the Bahamas that he and Smith were planning to wed: "I've loved her for quite some time and hopefully the feeling's mutual. At some point, we will (get married)." If the reports are true, this will be Smith's third marriage. Her first husband was tragic Daniel's father Billy Wayne Smith and she wed 89-year-old oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall in 1994. He died in 1995.

The death of Anna Nicole Smith's 20-year-old son Daniel Smith was caused by a lethal combination of methadone, Zoloft and Lexapro, according to pathologist Cyril Wecht. Wecht was hired by Smith to conduct a second autopsy on her son and revealed the results from toxicology tests yesterday. The pathologist told American publication People the drugs caused the cardiac dysrhythmia that led to Daniel's death. Zoloft and Lexapro are both classified as anti-depressants, while methadone is used to treat heroin addiction. The toxicology results were conducted by National Medical Services in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania and released on Wednesday. Daniel died in his mother's hospital room September 10, while visiting her in the Bahamas three days after she gave birth to a baby girl named Dannielynne Hope. Daniel was found dead in his mother's hospital room after flying to the Bahamas to be with her soon after she gave birth to a baby girl. Scott explains, "It is not unusual in instances where the cause of death cannot be determined to issue a death certificate. This is not a matter of special treatment being given in this particular case." He says Smith is slowly moving forward with her life and has even filed a birth certificate for her new daughter and plans to stay in the Bahamas where she has been granted permanent residency. Distraught former Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith was forced to sell photos of her son Daniel Smith taken the night before he died in order to pay for his funeral expenses. The family portraits were taken in a hospital room in the Bahamas two days after the birth of Anna Nicole's daughter and hours before her 20-year-old son was found dead. Photo agency Getty Images sold the photos to US publication In Touch for $400,000 after a fierce bidding war. According to In Touch executive editor Dan Wakeford, "We purchased the photos, beating the competition. The photos were extremely emotive, and our readers are incredibly intrigued by this story." Wakeford says the images show "a perfectly healthy young man." While it is unclear what portion of the proceeds will go to Anna Nicole, a source tells American publication Us Weekly that the devastated star sold the pictures in order to pay for her son's funeral. The source says, "She needs the money." Getty Images claims that a portion of the profits from the sale of the photos will go to a charitable foundation to be set up in Daniel's name. His body remains at Butler's Funeral Home in the Bahamas and won't be released to the family until the investigation into his death is complete.

Anna Nicole Smith is overwhelmed by grief and is currently in seclusion in the Bahamas after the sudden death of her son Daniel Smith. The death of Anna Nicole Smith's 20-year-old son was labeled 'suspicious' by the coroner's office on Wednesday and a formal inquiry, which could lead to criminal charges, has been scheduled. Daniel Smith was visiting his mother Sunday in hospital, three days after she gave birth to a baby girl in the Bahamas, when he died unexpectedly. According to Royal Bahamian Police Force Assistant Commissioner Reginald Ferguson, there was another person in the room with Daniel at the time of his death who was not a member of the hospital's staff. He refused to reveal the person's identity, saying he did not want to jeopardize the investigation. Her Majesty's Coroner Linda P. Virgill has scheduled the public inquest for the week of October 23. If jurors at the inquest decide a crime took place, the case would be sent to the attorney general's office. Virgill says authorities believe they know the cause of death, but were awaiting a toxicology report to confirm the findings. She said, "I can confirm that there was definitely a third person in the room at the time of death and I do know who that person is. But I am unwilling to reveal that information at this time for various reasons." Police were reconstructing Smith's steps since his arrival Saturday in the Bahamas. Media reports in the country claimed Daniel died of a drug overdose and that various medications, along with drugs, were found in his system. Ferguson said that no drug paraphernalia or traces of illegal drugs were found on Daniel, in the hospital room or near the room.

Government officials in The Bahamas will release an autopsy report on Friday which will confirm what caused the sudden death of Anna Nicole Smith's 20-year-old son Daniel Smith. Daniel was found sitting upright in a chair after going to see his mother and his new half-sister in the private Doctors Hospital in Nassau on Sunday. Her Majesty's Coroner Linda P. Virgill tells American publication People, "The cause of death is not natural. However, we wish to reserve the cause of death at this time pending the toxicologist examination and report for confirmation of cause of death." Media reports in The Bahamas claim Daniel died of an apparent drug overdose and that various medications, along with drugs, were found in his system. According to Virgill, a coroner's inquest with a jury will take place and Anna Nicole will likely be asked for her testimony. Virgill adds, "All persons who are relevant witnesses, like his mother and hospital staff and airline personnel who had contact with him, would have to testify. The inquest would happen late in October or early November to determine how, when and by what manner Daniel came to his death." The family has requested Daniel's body be returned to the United States, but the government in The Bahamas won't release him until the investigation is complete.

Anna Nicole Smith's 20-year-old son died of a "massive heart attack" while visiting his mother and newborn sister in their hospital room over the weekend, according to media reports. Daniel Smith had flown to the Bahamas on Saturday to join his mother and was in her hospital room Sunday when he suddenly collapsed. According to The Nassau Guardian, sources say Daniel reportedly suffered a "massive heart attack" and his mother made an unsuccessful attempt to revive him. Police officials immediately put the hospital on a security lock-down and remained tight-lipped about the incident, pending an investigation. Police Press Liaison Officer Inspector Walter Evans confirmed the death on Sunday saying, "This morning a Caucasian male was discovered sometime after 9am. The cause of death has not been determined and an autopsy has to be performed. Once we would have (carried out) an autopsy, (this) would confirm the exact cause of death." Soon after word of the death leaked out, members of the press descended on the hospital and were immediately rushed into a conference room. Hospital staff hustled the baby out into a waiting van, while Anna Nicole's lawyer, Howard K. Stern, rushed out to the hospital parking lot at the same time. Anna Nicole was reportedly whisked out of a backdoor exit, while Daniel's body was taken out through a side door and driven away in a hearse.
