Back in 2008, a music video landed on YouTube — then still largely in its infancy and mostly dominated by amateur video footage — and caused a bit of a stir, amassing a cult following and 1 million views. More than 15 years on, the video has morphed — extremely slowly — into a full-length feature film.
Chris Dane Owens’ upbeat love song “Shine on Me” was already a catchy slice of rock with some heavy ’80s inspirations. But it was the epic accompanying video — which he made for $70,000, no small sum in today’s music video world — that proved to be the real hit, largely for squeezing into its four minutes practically every clichéd trope and inspiration from popular swords-and-sorcery fantasy entertainment. “The Princess Bride” features prominently, but then there are elements of “Xena,” “The Lord of the Rings,” “The Chronicles of Narnia,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Dungeons and Dragons” and many, many more.

Conservative firebrand Candace Owens has left the news outlet The Daily Wire after a war of words with the founder of the news brand, fellow far-right figure Ben Shapiro, which began shortly after the outset of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.
Owens joined the partisan conservative news website, which gained traction during former President Donald Trump’s time in the White House, in 2020 and hosted a weekday commentary show for the brand, known for repackaging other news outlets’ reporting with a right-wing spin. The 34-year-old confirmed the news on Friday on X, the platform where most of the drama between the two conservative media figures played out.
“The rumors are true — I am finally free. If you would like to support my work, you can head to http://CandaceOwens.com where you will be directed to my locals page,” Owens tweeted, then solicited for funds on another personal website.

The fifth and final season of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things was just about to start filming when the writers strike hit back in May. A couple months into that strike, the Screen Actors Guild also went on strike – and while the writers strike ended in September, the actors strike continued on into November. Following the six month delay, Netflix decided to wait out the holidays before getting Stranger Things season 5 rolling… but now they have officially confirmed that production is finally underway! They celebrated the start of production by unveiling of a behind-the-scenes image of the cast with series creators The Duffer Brothers, and you can check out that image at the bottom of this article.

The Pivot podcast host Ryan Clark has heard the discourse about what Jonathan Owens said about wife Simone Biles on an episode of his show, and he is not here for it.
In a video posted on social media, Clark recounted the conversation he had with football safety, noting that he was telling the story of how he met Biles with so much love in his eyes, and now his joke about being the catch for the gymnast is being blown out of proportion.
“Every time they looked at one another, you can tell how beautiful [their meet] was to them,” he said. “But everyone has now twisted that and taken that and made it something negative. But what people haven’t done is watch the entire show.”
He explained that Owens talked about how Biles changed his life and how as soon as they met, it was history. They were immediately connected.

Match #1: United States Championship Tournament – Carmelo Hayes def. Grayson Waller The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Nxt Superstar has come to SmackDown and stunned Grayson Waller to advance in the United States Championship Tournament. The brash Waller used his size advantage to down the athletic Hayes, but it would only take mere moments for Melo to prove that he is Him. One quick counter led to a First 48, and the WWE Universe was treated to a Nothing But Net leg drop from the top rope that saw Hayes punch his ticket to the semi-finals.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: United States Championship Tournament – Kevin Owens def. Austin Theory The following is courtesy of wwe.

Turning Point USA — the far-right, Christian nationalist group run by Charlie Kirk — is kicking off its annual AmericaFest in Phoenix on Saturday. Tpusa bills AmericaFest as a bash for “like-minded” conservatives to celebrate “the greatest country in the world, America.”
But in addition to patriotism, many of the gala’s headliners appear to be of like mind about something much darker: a distrust, distaste, or outright hatred of Jewish people. The celebration comes on the heels of Kirk himself having been called out by prominent conservatives for creating “an anti-Semite problem” for the right.

Conservative media outlet The Daily Wire, known for its right-wing political commentary, had a public dispute between two of its most prominent figures, Ben Shapiro and Candace Owens.
Shapiro, the site’s co-founder, and Owens, a host of one of its podcasts, have exchanged back-and-forth messages on the X platform, formally known as Twitter.
It started when Owens wrote of the Israel-Hamas War: “No government anywhere has a right to commit a genocide, ever. There is no justification for a genocide. I can’t believe this even needs to be said or is even considered the least bit controversial to state.”
Over the past couple of weeks, the Israeli government has been bombing the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of thousands of Palestinians, many of whom are children after Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel killed 1200.
Although many praised her stance, others criticized her tweet and accused her of being antisemitic.

Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral may have been televised, but details about what happened behind the scenes are still coming out more than a year later. Among the moments cameras didn’t catch? A conversation between Kate Middleton and Prince Harry. The Princess of Wales reportedly asked her brother-in-law, the Duke of Sussex, a “very simple question” ahead of the queen’s funeral.
Kate talked to Harry in the hours before Queen Elizabeth’s funeral
According to Ok! Magazine, the tension between Harry and Kate on the day of Queen Elizabeth’s funeral — Sept. 19, 2022 — started with a private conversation. Kate, now 41, reportedly confronted Harry before the Westminster Abbey service.
“Kate knew this was the only time she could talk to Harry before he closed himself off from the family again,” a source told the outlet. “After all, with so much going on between them, there was going to be zero chance at the actual ceremony.

Tucker Carlson may no longer be Fox News’ frontman, but he’s by no means abandoned the racist, conspiratorial rhetoric that rocketed him to right-wing stardom. On Wednesday’s installment of Carlson’s self-produced X show, host injected his views on white genocide into a discussion of the ongoing Israel-Hamas war while interviewing The Daily Wire’s Candace Owens.
Early in the interview, Carlson and Owens had discussed her explosive, public spat with Daily Wire founder Ben Shapiro over the war in Gaza, before discussing how it is also fueling tensions on college campuses.

Last week, Stranger Things cast member David Harbour said he expected to start filming season 5 of the hit Netflix series – which will also be the final season of the show – in “a couple days”. But first he had to make an appearance at Motor City Comic Con, and during the show he confirmed that season 5 has “a very real ending” that wraps up the story.
Harbour said (with thanks to Deadline for sharing his comment), “The beauty of it is, there’s a real ending. Stranger Things will end in a very real way. … The storyline of Stranger Things, from where we started with the Upside Down and that lab, to where we’re going in season 5 is one complete story, and it’s gonna end at the final episode of season 5.” He acknowledged that there’s still room for spin-offs and prequel stories like the stage play Stranger Things: The First Shadow,...

During the last five years, Prince Harry and King Charles’ relationship has only deteriorated. The father and son have not been on great terms since before Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, left the royal family back in 2020. And while the two men have remained cordial in public, there is reportedly little going on between them to rebuild the burnt bridge.
However, rumors have recently started popping up that Charles is “ready to reconcile” with his younger son. But what does that mean for their future?

Ever since Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down as working royals and moved to America there’s been no shortage of headlines about the duke’s relationship with his estranged family members. And the Sussexes made several claims about some of the prince’s relatives during interviews as well as in their Netflix docuseries and in Harry’s memoir Spare.
Many royal watchers believe the couple could launch more attacks if given the opportunity. So now a commentator is warning that no matter how many verbal grenades the duo throws at the royal family in the years to come King Charles and other members of the Firm cannot stoop to Meghan and Harry’s level of “low-blow” attacks.

A self-proclaimed “Indiana Swiftie,” Michal Owens, has garnered much attention over her Halloween decorations.
Owens says that she tries to do something fun every year for Halloween. She thought that since there is nothing bigger than Taylor Swift this year, she would have a Swift-themed decor in her yard.

Jamie Lee Curtis desperately wants to play Dr. Kureha in Season 2 of Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the manga (and anime) “One Piece,” and it sounds like the team behind the show is just as desperate to have her onboard. No need to lobby.”
Owens continued, “Once we get what we deserve and get back to work, let’s talk!”
