Amazon is heading to North Carolina with the creators of Netflix’s drama Outer Banks.
The retailer and streamer has handed out an eight-episode, straight-to-series order for The Runarounds, a music drama that follows a post-high school band as they try to make it big. The series is not a spinoff of Outer Banks but it does feature the same group — The Runarounds — that was previously featured in a season three episode of the hugely popular young adult drama on Netflix.

Lilah Pate, the daughter of The Runarounds creator Jonas Pate, has had a recurring role in Obx.

There has been an exponential hike in international sales for non-English-language drama series as the TV business has become increasingly global.
Spain’s no exception. Traditionally, international buyers were looking for local primetime TV fiction such as Diagonal’s period skein “Isabel,” which has been acquired by Rai in Italy, the 82nd territory nabbing the series.
The global explosion of OTTs has propelled a new culture of Spanish TV fiction consumption.
“Spanish drama works excellently on premium platforms and is definitely not only for the Hispanic world,” says Christian Gockel, Evp acquisitions & sales at Beta Film.
Handled by Beta, Telefonica-Movistar Plus’ “La Zona,” a thriller set in a nuclear plant meltdown, has been taken by Starz in the U.S., France’s Canal Plus and Germany’s Zdf.
“We are at a key moment where non-traditional territories are betting on Spanish drama,” Gockel adds.
“Money Heist” came close to being a global Netflix phenomenon.

CBS is developing an interesting new supernatural police drama called Far Rockaway. Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek: Discovery) is producing the series and it based on the Spanish format series titled Estoy Vivo. The show is being written by David Wilcox and this is what it’s about:
A workaholic NYPD detective killed in the line of duty is granted a second chance to return to earth in the body of another cop in order to bring his killer to justice and heal the fractured family he left behind.
I’m in! This sounds like a solid concept that will make for a good series. Although, there was a series that Fox produced a couple years ago called Second Chance, which centered on a murdered cop who was brought back to life in the body of a younger man. I don’t remember it being very good, so maybe this one will be better.

As you may have heard, seen and read on the Internet, Sean Bean is prone to dying on the big and small screen. You know this, right? I don't need to run through the list of movies and TV shows in which Bean has died, because I don't want to spoil "The Smurfs" for you or something. [Note: That was a joke. Sean Bean probably doesn't die in "The Smurfs." I haven't seen it. I just didn't want to spoil something real.] TNT also knows it. On Thursday (July 10) morning at the Television Critics Association press tour, TNT presented a panel for the new undercover FBI agent drama "Legends." At each of our seats, we had a t-shirt with the hashtag #DontKillSeanBean emblazoned on the front. So it wasn't like it was bad form for Sean Bean to get the panel's first question and for it to be about his predilection toward on-screen death. In fact, he probably ought to have know it was coming eventually, if not immediately. Bean was uncomfortable when asked about the fascination.

We were so disappointed that Zero Hour wasn’t given more time to gain an audience, but at least were pleased when ABC announced that the entire first season would air this summer, including the first three episodes that aired in the winter.
Happily, ABC has now paired those episodes with unaired episodes from another gone-too-soon show from earlier this season, 666 Park Avenue, according to Deadline. The Following Episode 113
“Havenport”
Written By: David Wilcox & Vincent Angell
Directed By: Nicole Kassell
Original Airdate: 15 April 2013
In This Episode...
The FBI is now in Havenport, Maryland, working with the local sheriff’s office, which is of course led by Roderick. Mike recognizes Roderick the moment he sees him and draws his gun. The local cops see Mike as a threat and tackle him while Roderick escapes.
Roderick goes straight to Joe, in a panic. He wants Joe to enact the backup plan, something about the cult splitting up into small splinter cells and going into hiding. Joe will have none of this. “It’s not time to leave yet.” When the men see Ryan on the news, offering full immunity to any cult member who comes forward, Roderick becomes agitated, paranoid, and the two men choke each other. Upon their mutual release, Roderick runs from Joe’s study and leaves the house.

The director of tonight's visit to the fine men and women of the FBI is Nicole Kassell. You may recognize that name (but probably not) from the Kevin Bacon film The Woodsman. I can't help but think Bacon got her this gig. If so, then it worked out for both of them, because this was one of the better episodes of The Following in recent memory. Not that it was without its crazy leaps of logic (thanks to writers Vincent Angell and David Wilcox), but it was at least well-shot craziness. This is the show's most successful use of chiaroscuro shading; it's dark in a key action sequence, but not so dark you can't tell what happens. That's a big improvement for the show,...

Despite the show's recent cancellation, fans of "666 Park Avenue" should still receive some closure when the series ends its run on ABC as executive producers David Wilcox and Matt Miller promise they are "building to a powerful and surprising series finale."

Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue will not leave viewers hanging.
Despite ABC pulling the plug on the freshman dramas last week, the brains behind both shows tell TVLine that they were given enough time to turn their respective swan songs into series finales.
“We have time to tweak,” confirms Last Resort creator Shawn Ryan, adding that Episode 13 will indeed function as a full-fledged series finale.
666 exec producers David Wilcox and Matt Miller, meanwhile, tease that their Sunday spookfest “is building to a powerful and surprising series finale, where all your questions will be answered.

We've been sporadic at best with our coverage of ABC's "666 Park Avenue," mainly because we didn't think it'd last long given its low ratings. In any event, here's a look at the show's upcoming guest star Whoopi Goldberg in character from Episode 1.09, "Hypnos."
"666 Park Avenue" - Episode 1.09 - "Hypnos" (12/2/12 airdate):
Jane is sent back in time when she is hypnotized by Maris Elder (Whoopi Goldberg); Henry considers running for city council; Sasha's identity is revealed.
Executive producer David Wilcox told TV Guide, Elder is "a mysterious resident of the Drake who helps Jane unlock the secret of the building's true evil origins. Whoopi's an incredible actor so when we heard that she was a horror fan, we wrote the role for her."
“666 Park Avenue” stars Rachael Taylor (“Charlie’s Angels,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” Transformers) as Jane Van Veen, Dave Annable (“Brothers & Sisters,” “Reunion”) as Henry Martin, Robert Buckley (“One Tree Hill,...

“Murmurations”
Written By: David Wilcox
Directed By: Robert Duncan McNeil
In This Episode...
Jane is surprised when Tony tells her that John Barlow moved out suddenly. While doing a routine check of his apartment, she hears a scratching noise coming from the wall. She peels back the torn wallpaper, chips away some weakened drywall, and out flies a whole flock of birds. Despite an eerie warning from Nona to “leave the birds alone,” Jane calls an exterminator. An old ventilation shaft appears to have been home to the starlings for dozens of years. The exterminator assures her he can take care of it and sets about tearing down the false concrete wall in the basement - Jane is certain they can reach the ventilation shaft behind that wall. Later that night, on his way home, the exterminator is attacked by the same flock of birds. In a...

"666 Park Avenue" (Sundays at 10 p.m. Et on ABC) debuted just last week, and viewers are already intrigued by the mystery behind an old New York City building and its residents.
Rachael Taylor plays Jane Van Veen, the wife of Henry Martin (Dave Annable) and the two become co-managers of an old Upper East Side building called The Drake owned by Terry O'Quinn and Vanessa Williams' characters Gavin and Olivia Doran. Jane and Henry quickly learn there's much more to the building than its beautiful architecture.
Taylor spoke with HuffPost TV to discuss what to come in the series, the cast, and how excited she is to work with Whoopi Goldberg.
So let's talk about the pilot.

666 Park Ave. Episode 101
“Pilot”
Written By: David Wilcox
Directed By: Alex Graves
Original Airdate: 30 September 2012
In This Episode...
Henry and Jane are a young, unmarried couple, looking to move from Brooklyn to Manhattan. He works for the mayor; she is an unemployed architect. They answer an ad on Craigslist, looking for a live-in building manager at the Drake, an exclusive, historic apartment building that was built at the beginning of the 20th century. The building’s owner, Gavin Durand, is not thrilled by the couple, but Jane’s extensive knowledge of architectural history wins him over, and they have the job. Gavin’s wife, Olivia, is enthralled by the couple, and sees Jane as a “way to get to Henry.”
While not specifically stated, Gavin is clearly Satan. The former on-site manager’s contract was up. A concert violinist, Hartwell slices his fingers during a performance, signaling that Gavin has come to collect.

It's probably not a coincidence that "666 Park Avenue," a new suspense drama premiering Sunday, Sept. 30, on ABC, opens in a glittering New York concert hall where an elegantly dressed audience listens to a classical performance. The orchestra's concertmaster is in the middle of negotiating a tricky violin passage when suddenly the strings of his instrument begin cutting into his fingers, as if dipped in acid. Gritting his teeth in pain and mounting terror, the musician manages to get through the passage as drops of blood fly onto the music pages. In the audience, Gavin Doran (Terry O'Quinn, "Lost") and his beautiful wife, Olivia (Vanessa Williams, "Desperate Housewives"), smile enigmatically.
Suffice it to say that violinist's night quickly goes from bad to the worst imaginable, but that sophisticated opening sets the tone for this series set in the Drake, a stately New York high-rise that seems to have a mind of its own.

As you'd expect from a show called "666 Park Avenue," ABC is pulling out all the stops for its new series' Halloween episode, including an homage to one of the original Masters of Horror, Alfred Hitchcock.
TV Guide provided the following details along with the image you see of "666" star Rachael Taylor dressed as Tippi Hedren's character from Hitchcock's The Birds:
"The Dorans [Terry O'Quinn and Vanessa Williams] host one of the most exclusive costume parties in the city," "666 Park Avenue" executive producer David Wilcox told TV Guide about the episode, scheduled to air October 28th. "What Jane comes to find out is something very dark occurred on Halloween night."
"This is the episode where everything shifts," adds Taylor. "Some pretty horrible things happen to my character. We're hitting the Rosemary's Baby territory where everyone's looking at Jane thinking she's crazy." And why would they assume that? "Jane believes the birds are real, but nobody else does.

666 Park Avenue is my personal favorite new show of the season (though I haven’t seen Arrow yet) and I hope you’ll love it too. This poster gives an interesting twist to the campaign – get it? twist? – but should really be seen primarily as a metaphor. Don’t worry, the show won’t require you to take notes and study, it’s just pretty and creepily entertaining. Like the poster!
Presumably we’re getting this new poster because it includes the just-released premiere date, which we told you about earlier. Here’s your friendly reminder-as-to-what-it’s-about trailer and series summary:

While NBC has taken the lead in bringing horror to TV with Mockingbird Lane, Hannibal and now Dracula, ABC does have the intriguing 666 Park Avenue coming this fall. The series, starring Terry O’Quinn, Vanessa Williams, Dave Annable and Rachael Taylor, concerns the residents of a building that may or may not have something to do with the devil and certainly has something supernatural and creepy going on.

If you take Terry O'Quinn and Vanessa Williams, add two devilishly villainous roles and a sprinkling of paranormal activity on the Upper East Side, it certainly sounds like a recipe for success. At least that's what ABC is hoping for with its new supernatural series "666 Park Avenue," which brought O'Quinn and Williams to the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour on Friday, along with co-stars Rachael Taylor and Dave Annable, and executive producers David Wilcox and Matthew Miller.
"Lost" alum O'Quinn is no stranger to enigmatic roles, but his character Gavin Doran is a whole new breed of sinister -- so creepy that even John Locke might hesitate to tangle with him. As the owners of the luxurious Drake at 666 Park Avenue, Gavin and his wife Olivia (Williams) may seem charismatic, but they -- along with the building they inhabit -- are hiding an undeniable dark side.

There’s a long and rocky history of TV producers trying to successfully adapt Stephen King novels. Could a new series capture the horror master’s sensibility while having nothing to do with his actual work?
ABC’s upcoming horror soap 666 Park Ave. (see the show’s curiously sexy marketing poster here) isn’t drawn from any of King’s material (it’s based on a novel with the same title by Gabriella Pierce), but producers admit the author’s work was a heavy influence on the show. “It’s absolutely Stephen King influenced,” said executive producer David Wilcox told TV critics Friday.

With horror being the hottest trend on TV, ABC brought "666 Park Avenue" to the San Diego Comic-Con, where we had a chance to watch the pilot and panel and then chat with the cast and creators of the show. Color us definitely intrigued by what we've seen so far!

666 Park Avenue at Comic-Con: The Stars and EPs Tease the New Supernatural Drama
Strange things are happening at 666 Park Avenue (a.k.a. The Drake apartment building). The building is run by power-couple Gavin (Terry O’Quinn) and Olivia (Vanessa Williams), who are definitely up to no good. Essentially, the building seems to be some sort of supernatural hub where elevator doors maim and characters get eaten by walls. After being introduced to the darker side of the building, we meet young couple Jane (Rachael Taylor) and Henry (Dave Annable), who apply for the building manager positions and manage to impress Gavin enough to score the gig. Soon enough, Jane starts to realize that her dream apartment at 666 Park Avenue isn’t very dreamy at all.
The stars, joined by producers Matthew Miller and David Wilcox, teased the new ABC show to members of the press at Comic-Con today.

666 Park Avenue centers around Jane and Henry, a young New York couple who find themselves the new property managers at luxury apartment complex, The Drake. The pair is in for more than they bargained for, as it seems that the property owners have sinister plans for the residents of 666 Park Avenue.
Series creator David Wilcox (First Wave) has developed an interesting and quite likely promising premise. 666 Park Avenue has a creepy, foreboding, and atmospheric feel to it thus far. It’s oozing with ambiance.
The apartment complex where the show takes place is poised to become as much of a character as any of the actors on the show. The building is really spooky and I’m anxious to see how it weaves in to the plotline of forthcoming episodes.

The Comic-Con 2012 schedule has now been released in full, and barring any major updates, is set. The blessing and curse of being an attendee is deciding which panels/autograph sessions/special events to attend, when they conflict. And they always do.
For you to see for yourself, below are what we are calling the “headliner” panels; those panels that are taking place in Hall H, Ballroom 20, Room 6Bdf, and the just-next-door Hilton Indigo Ballroom, the four major venues for panels. There are descriptions of each panel as well as the show(s) and/or movie(s) they are there to discuss.
See how many conflicts you might have, or how you might arrange time and space to somehow attend these plus spend every day in the vendors’ Exhibit Hall and chasing zombies in the nearby The Walking Dead Escape. By the way, if you figure that out, Please let us know.
