Trent Reznor has shared his reflections on the 30th anniversary of Nine Inch Nails’ breakout album, The Downward Spiral, in a post on the band’s official website describing how the seminal project still impacts him.
“Spending too much time looking backwards feels dangerous to me, but this day on the calendar caught my attention,” Reznor wrote in the message. ” Has it really been that long, old friend? I just spent an hour listening to this time capsule of what 28 year old me had to say, and it still excites me and breaks my heart.”
The Nin mastermind concluded the note by encouraging fans to “be kind to yourselves,” adding that he hopes to “see you soon.”
In further celebration of the album’s 30th anniversary, Heavy Consequence spoke with Godsmack singer Sully Erna, Code Orange vocalist Jami Morgan, and Parkway Drive frontman Winston McCall. Watch the video below.

Earlier this year, Godsmack drummer Shannon Larkin mentioned during a podcast that frontman Sully Erna once dated Lady Gaga. In a new interview, the rock singer confirmed he did have a brief relationship with the pop superstar, saying he “shared some great moments with her.”
Larkin’s revelation was a surprise to many, as Erna’s relationship with Gaga had not really been publicized. “I don’t think Sully would bum out if people knew he dated Lady Gaga,” Larkin said during his appearance on the 2020’d podcast. “I mean, she’s hot, and she’s mega talented.”
In a new interview with Revolver, Erna was asked about the Godsmack song “Under Your Scars,” which apparently was inspired by Erna’s relationship with Gaga, as well as Larkin’s recent comments.
“Listen, I really don’t have a lot to say on this topic,” responded Erna. “What I will tell...

When asked what the hometown of horror is, Providence, Ri, doesn't immediately come to mind. But Woodhaven has become a prolific horror studio, located right in the heart of New England, and we recently visited the set of their newest film, Almost Mercy.
The location was a no-tell motel where, if the walls could talk…Omg, the stories they would tell! It was the perfect setting for one of the key scenes for the film. Director Tom DeNucci took some time out of his shooting schedule to talk about Almost Mercy and the progress of Woodhaven Productions.
"The film is definitely darker, definitely more sinister. It has a lot less of the campy throwback horror-comedy," DeNucci said. "However, it does have a very slick, cutting and mean dark comedy to it, which is fun. I've never had a chance to flex those muscles before. That I attribute to getting to work with B.

Woodhaven Production Company and Chad A. Verdi Productions have worked with some of the biggest names in horror, and now they are bringing in two more genre legends to star in their upcoming film Almost Mercy, written and directed by Tom DeNucci.
Both Bill Moseley and Kane Hodder will be featured prominently in the film.
Previously Woodhaven has featured such stars as Robert Englund in Inkubus, William Forsythe and Michael Madsen in Infected, Michael Berryman and Eric Roberts in Self Storage, and Tony Todd and Godsmack's Sully Erna in Army of the Damned just to name a few. Now Tom DeNucci has a whole new tale to tell, and Moseley and Hodder will be headlining the cast.
Fans of Tom DeNucci's previous movies certainly know that the filmmaker normally has a vein of comedy running through his horror films. However, with Almost Mercy, although there is certainly black comedy to it,...

I made a promise to myself that I’d review as many horror films as possible in 2014, so I started last night off by jumping on Xbox, pulling up the most recent VOD horror flick, and giving it a rent – like a game of cinematic Russian Roulette. The film I ended up with? Army Of The Damned, a film bringing together Sully Erna (lead singer of Godsmack), Candyman (Tony Todd), Joey Fatone (*N Sync/exploiter of fat jokes), Michael Berryman (Pluto – no, not the dog – from The Hills Have Eyes) and Nick Principe (ChromeSkull in Laid To Rest). If some of those names mean nothing to you, then you’re not a horror fan, and you’ve certainly stumbled upon the wrong review – or you somehow missed that wretched decade where boy bands ruled the universe. Either this cast was going to be supergroup-status awesome, or Frankenstein monster horrendous – but we’ll get to that.

If you're a horror fan anywhere near Worcester, Ma, don't walk, Run to one of the most beloved horror conventions on the East Coast. Of course we're talking about Rock and Shock!
You want celebrity guests? Rock and Shock's got 'em in spades. And some really unique convention celeb guests at that. How about horror icons Robert Englund, Michael Rooker, Gunnar Hansen, Kane Hodder, and Sid Haig; famous horror author Joe Knetter; and Twisted Sister frontman and all-around horror dude Dee Snider? To say that producer Chad A. Verdi has made a splash on the horror industry would be quite the understatement. In just the last two years he has produced films starring Robert Englund, Tony Todd, Michael Berryman and many more.
And he's just getting started.
Verdi inked a four-picture deal with Screen Media guaranteeing him distribution for his films before they were even made. A monumental feat for an independent film company. Now Verdi continues to add to his catalog of films, and even landed legendary director Martin Scorsese to co-produce a project he's always dreamed of making.

Producer Chad A. Verdi had already assembled a memorable cast for his current project, Army of the Damned, but the man behind Woodhaven Productions refuses to rest on his laurels.
Verdi has now added former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis and the infamous Jasmine St. Claire to the project.
Everyone has a favorite wrestling diva, but it is this writer's opinion that there has never been a more drop-dead gorgeous creature to enter the squared circle than Maria Kanellis. She is absolutely stunning, and as you can see by the still shot from Army of the Damned below, she's got no trouble getting into the action of a bloody horror film.
Kanellis and St. Claire are added to a very interesting cast. Verdi stated, "We have a very eclectic group of actors on this project: horror legends, rock and pop stars, TV and wrestling superstars, Playboy Playmates and the list goes on.

With Michael Berryman, Sully Erna and Nick Principe already in the cast of their upcoming film, you'd think producer Chad Verdi and Woodhaven Productions would rest on their laurels. But that's far from the case as the team has enlisted Tony Todd for their Army of the Damned.
"Tony Todd is a great actor and a horror legend," Verdi said. "He was the last piece of the puzzle that I felt this film needed to be the blockbuster I know it will be."
Todd will join Berryman, Erna and Principe along with entertainer Joey Fatone and former professional wrestlers Tommy Dreamer and Thea Trinidad as well as David Chokachi, Jackie Moore and Tom Paolino in the Army of the Damned cast. The film will be directed by Tom DeNucci and photographed by cinematographer Sam Eilertsen. You can keep updated on the project by 'liking' Army of the Damned on Facebook.

"Keep Away," "I Stand Alone," "Cryin' Like a Bitch"... sounds like a description of Doctor Gash's high school years. Actually these are few kick-ass Godsmack songs, and lead singer Sully Erna has been named to the cast of Woodhaven Pictures' upcoming Army of the Damned.
This will be Erna's feature film acting debut, and he will be joined by a delightfully diverse cast. Producer Chad A. Verdi has also announced that horror legend Michael Berryman, entertainer Joey Fatone, professional wrestlers turned actors Tommy Dreamer and Thea Trinidad, as well as a man who knows a little something about scaring people himself, Nick Principe, have been added to the cast. Jackie Moore and Tom Paolino round out the list of players. The film will be directed by Tom DeNucci and begin filming in April with additional cast members yet to be announced.

Sully Erna explains why his world-music-infused solo album is his 'baby.'

Nearly five months after its release, the sonic punch of Godsmack's third album to debut at #1, The Oracle, is still leaving bruises (the latest single "Love-Hate-Sex-Pain" is perched at #15 on the Billboard Rock Songs chart) and the band is currently supporting the record on a major tour with Five Finger Death Punch and Drowning Pool. But for the moment at least, frontman Sully Erna is more excited about his recently released world-music-inflected solo album, Avalon, which debuted at #24 on this week's Billboard 200.
"Godsmack will always be my main priority. I know that, but right now, Avalon is my baby," Erna said on a break between tour dates. "It's a complete departure from Godsmack, and that's why I love it so much. As a musician, I like to express different sides of myself,...

It was close, but Linkin Park managed to burn a bit brighter than Trey Songz on the Billboard 200, earning their latest, A Thousand Suns, the #1 spot on next week's chart thanks to sales of 241,000 and a boost from a thrilling Vma performance. According to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan, the Rick Rubin-produced Suns outpaced Songz's Passion, Pain & Pleasure by just over 1,000 copies, with the R&B lover man's fourth CD sliding in right behind at #2 on sales of 240,000.
Both discs far outpaced the handful of other debuts in the top 10, which also include bearded country outlaw Jamey Johnson's two-disc Guitar Song (#4, 63,000), former Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant's rootsy Band of Joy (#5, 49,000) and the indie label debut of Weezer, whose Hurley comes in at #6 thanks to 45,000 units moved.

American metal band Godsmack has a new album entitled The Oracle scheduled for release on May 4th, and they've teamed up with Dread Central to premiere an exclusive look at it.
The Oracle is the first Godsmack album to be produced by Dave Fortman. His resume includes production for Evanescence, Slipknot, Mudvayne, Simple Plan, Otep, Superjoint Ritual, and more. The new album features the chart topping single "Cryin' Like A Bitch" along with the recently released “What If” and “Love Hate Sex Pain”. The Oracle is Godsmack’s first studio album in four years and definitely one that their fans do not want to miss.
The new album revels in Godsmack's scorching underpinnings, served up via frontman Sully Erna's monster-vocals. As drummer Shannon Larkin told Away-Team, "One of the cool things about this album is that we're recording it one track at a time. What I mean by that is,...

Multi-platinum selling artist Godsmack are preparing to release their highly anticipated album, The Oracle. With two consecutive number one albums on the Billboard Top 200 (Faceless and IV) and their latest single “Cryin’ Like A Bitch” rapidly climbing the charts, this is one album you do not want to miss. Drummer, Shannon Larkin describes the sound of The Oracle as much more like the band’s self-titled album, “It’s going to be a monster. The drums sound incredible, Sully Erna’s voice is on fire… it’s gonna be much more like the first record; much heavier, with simple, catchy guitar-driven riffs.” To build anticipation for The Oracle’s May 4th release, Godsmack has unveiled a [...]...

Godsmack vocalist Sully Erna has settled the multimillion-dollar court case filed by the victim of a three-car smash accident in 2007.
The 41-year-old rocker will have to pay 27-year-old Lindsay Taylor monthly payments for decades to come.
On April 11, 2007, Erna's Hummer H3 rear-ended a Toyota Camry in Methuen, Massachusetts, resulting in the serious injury of Taylor, the other vehicle's backseat passenger.
Taylor and her parents, Elaine and Jeffrey, sued the musician for the severe traumatic brain injury she sustained. She claimed Erna was negligent, while Erna alleged that part of the responsibility laid with Eric Sargent, the driver of the car Taylor was riding in.

This past Saturday, David and I attended Crue Fest 2, the sequel to last year’s celebration of metal bands and of course Motley Crue. We had been lucky enough to get interviews with Charm City Devils and Drowning Pool, plus we shot some great footage that hopefully will be cut and ready for the site soon (approval pending- explanation below).
We arrived at the venue (Nissan Pavilion) at 2pm. The skies looked ominously dark and seemed ready to burst at any moment. By the time I hunted down my “contact” and was heading toward the tour buses for our first interview with Charm City Devils, the skies were rumbling and explosively unleashed a downpour. Luckily, Charm City Devils were kind enough to offer us some paper towels to dry off.

Currently on the road in the final stages of the Hed to Head tour, Fangoria Musick caught up with Jeffrey Nothing and Stitch from Mushroomhead for an update from the road. Fango fiends may recall when the band performed at our Chicago stop on this year's FangoCon tour, where the hotel was shaken (literally) by the Ohio band. We hit Stitch and Nothing with Ten Questions...
1. First off give me an idea what it’s been like for Mushroomhead throughout the years. There have been some lineup changes, some label changes, some hard earned success. A lot of good and bad over the years - give me some insight into your ventures, and where they’ve brought you today.
Jeffrey Nothing: We are the poster children for the phrase; "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!" After all in the end, all we have is each other and even though...
