- Darrell Waltrip's last race car as an owner/driver was painted white with the number 300 on it. It was called the Tim Flock special. He had to remove the number 300 because NASCAR rules do not permit three-digit numbers on cars. He donated the prize money to Tim to help with medical expenses. Dale Jarrett lead the lap at half way in that race, and donated the bonus money to Tim as well.
- Raced with older brothers Bob Flock and Fonty Flock.
- Had 40 NASCAR wins.
- Used to drive with a live monkey (complete with uniform, and goggles no less)
- Had the most unusual pit stop in NASCAR; he had to make a stop to remove a live monkey out of his car.
- Won the only NASCAR sports car race in 1955, driving a Mercedes-Benz 300SL gull-wing coupe
- He and Curtis Turner were banned for life for trying to organize NASCAR drivers into the Teamsters Union.
- Was the NASCAR champion in 1952, and 1955.
- Inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in 1999.
- Inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2014.
- Inducted into the International Motor Sports Hall of Fame in 1991.
- Inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.
- Induced into the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 1999.
- Inducted into the Daytona Beach Stock Car Racing Hall of Fame in 1995.
