The most recent trailer for Echo offered fans a glimpse at the gore of the upcoming MCU series, as well as a sneak peek of Charlie Cox's Daredevil return.
This is not the first sneak peek at Matt Murdock in the show fans have gotten, with the confirmation of his appearance coming in the first trailer back in November.
After the sudden cancelation of his Netflix series years ago, Cox remained in MCU limbo as Daredevil, before his big return in Spider-Man: No Way Home at the end of 2021.

Deadline’s Read the Screenplay series spotlighting the year’s most talked-about scripts continues with Nyad, Julia Cox’s adaptation of Diana Nyad’s memoir that was the diving-off point for directors Elizabeth Chai Vásárhelyi and Jimmy Chin’s Netflix movie.
The plot follows the true story of Nyad’s attempt to swim from Cuba to Florida at age 63. Annette Bening plays Nyad, and Jodie Foster her coach Bonnie Stoll. Both recently snagged Golden Globe nominations for their performances.
Nyad attempted the Cuba-Florida swim once at the peak of her long-distance swimming career in 1978, but did not make it. Following her retirement, she covered sports for ABC and NPR among other outlets, but after turning 60 in 2010 she attempted the swim again. She didn’t make it that time, either.

Matthew Perry died from “the acute effects of ketamine,” according to the toxicology report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office. The exact method of intake is unknown. Contributing factors in the “Friends” actor’s death included drowning, coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine (used to treat opioid use disorder). The manner of death was ruled an accident.
Perry had been undergoing ketamine infusion therapy prior to his death, reportedly for depression and anxiety. The toxicology report adds: “At the high levels of ketamine found in his postmortem blood specimens, the main lethal effects would be from both cardiovascular overstimulation and respiratory depression.”
Perry died on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023. Authorities arrived at his home in Los Angeles around 4 p.m. and found him in a hot tub, according to the Los Angeles Times. There were no signs of foul play or drugs at the scene. First responders...

When Kate Cox was forced to flee Texas after state authorities denied her pleas to terminate a potentially deadly pregnancy, it laid bare the true cost of state control over women’s reproductive health. It’s also made plain that Republicans — despite their claims to hold the moral high ground on abortion — cannot defend the policies they champion when they present real-world consequences.
Cox, whose 21-week-old fetus was diagnosed with a deadly genetic condition, had been in and out of emergency rooms as her already complicated pregnancy deteriorated her health...

Jane Doe, the pseudonymous plaintiff who brought a challenge to Kentucky’s near-total abortion ban on Friday, is no longer carrying a viable pregnancy, her lawyers informed the court Tuesday. No details were provided beyond the fact that Doe “learned her embryo no longer had cardiac activity” the day before.
The circumstances did not change her lawyers’ plans to proceed with their challenge to Kentucky’s near-total abortion ban.
“Jane Doe was seeking an abortion in Kentucky and wasn’t able to get one because of the abortion bans — and that fact has not changed,...

In the first episode of the Nineties NBC cop drama Homicide: Life on the Street, Baltimore police detective Frank Pembleton, played by a then-obscure actor named Andre Braugher, reluctantly takes on a young partner, Tim Bayliss (Kyle Secor). Bayliss, new to homicide investigation, is eager to watch Pembleton interrogate a murder suspect, which prompts Frank to explain, “What you will be privileged to witness will not be an interrogation, but an act of salesmanship — as silver-tongued and thieving as ever moved used cars, Florida swampland, or Bibles. But what I...

The Texas Supreme Court ruled against Kate Cox, the pregnant mother who sought permission to obtain an emergency abortion, on Monday.
“These laws reflect the policy choice that the Legislature has made, and the courts must respect that choice,” the court’s seven-page ruling read. The court found that Cox’s doctor, Dr. Damla Karsan, had “asked a court to pre-authorize the abortion yet she could not, or at least did not, attest to the court that Ms. Cox’s condition poses the risks the exception requires.”

Warning: contains finale spoilers for Netflix’s Treason
Netflix’s five-part limited series Treason was released on Boxing Day and has a promising pedigree, as creator Matt Charman was Oscar-nominated for co-writing the screenplay for Steven Spielberg’s 2015 film Bridge of Spies. With just five episodes of about 45 minutes each, it’s a quick series to consume and digest over a couple of cold winter evenings, but it did come with something of a surprise in its tail… Spoilers ahead.
The Fate of Adam Lawrence
Halfway through the final episode, the show’s apparent protagonist, Adam Lawrence (Charlie Cox) is unexpectedly shot dead. CIA agent Dede Alexander (Tracy Ifeachor) has been convinced by corrupt Control of MI6 Sir Martin Angelis (Ciarán Hinds) that Adam is the double agent code-named ‘Dorian’ that everyone is trying to track down. Dede confronts Adam and holds him at gunpoint, demanding that Adam’s wife...

Oona Chaplin has revealed that her new Netflix spy drama Treason was originally supposed to end quite differently.
Chaplin stars as Maddy, a former army medic and wife of high-flying MI6 operative Adam Lawrence (Charlie Cox), in the recently released series.
*Warning – Major spoilers ahead for the Treason finale*
In a major twist, Treason kills off its lead star, Cox, midway through the final episode.
Chaplin told The Independent in an interview that the series’ producers had to call her while they were halfway through shooting to let her know that the ending had been changed.
“I know that they were kind of toing and froing about it because nobody really wants to kill Charlie Cox,” she said of the decision.
“But they called me and they said, ‘Okay, brace yourself. Are you sitting down? We've made a change. This is what's happening.’ And I was like, you’ve got...

If you haven’t given The Mandalorian‘s Season 2 finale a recent rewatch, you may want to cue it up ahead of the Season 3 premiere.
After all, we last tuned into The Mandalorian proper (as opposed to “Season 2.5” aka The Book of Boba Fett Episodes 5, 6 and 7) more than two years ago. You might remember it as the finale that sprung on us a digitally recreated post-rotj Luke Skywalker, which merited a headline or 100.

Beyond the characters from the other Marvel shows on Netflix, the original Daredevil series wasn’t exactly full of cameos from the larger Marvel Universe. Now that the Man Without Fear is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Charlie Cox is excited about the cameo possibilities in his new Daredevil: Born Again series.
While speaking with Metro, Charlie Cox said that he hasn’t read any of the scripts for Daredevil: Born Again, so he doesn’t know who could be turning up, but he knows there are naturally more opportunities for crossovers. “When we were on Netflix, we didn’t have the opportunity to really have the crossovers other than the characters that we knew we had in that Netflix Marvel world,” Cox said. “Now that door is wide open to all sorts of possibilities and that, for me, as someone who’s become a great fan of the...

It might not be all or nothing for Charlie Cox just yet. However, there is a feeling that he might be kind of uncertain if Daredevil: Born Again doesn’t enjoy the same success as the Netflix series experienced in recent years. It does feel a little disheartening to hear that his MCU career might hit the rocks if this show doesn’t perform, especially given the fact that fans have wanted to see this character make his way to the MCU for some time now. There has been progress on this front since Cox showed up in Spider-Man: No Way Home

After a quick cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and a memorable, funny, charismatic return in She-Hulk, Charlie Cox's Daredevil, Aka lawyer Matt Murdock is getting his own series in 2024 via Daredevil: Born Again. But if you're worried about the tone of the show after the bone-crunching, blood-spilling Netflix series, Charlie Cox has some words for you.
In a new interview with the NME Cox talked about the direction for the new show.
"This has to be a reincarnation, it has to be different, otherwise why are we doing it?” he says. So… less brooding, more gags? Probably not so much. "My opinion is this character works best when he’s geared towards a slightly more mature audience. My instinct is that on Disney+ it will be dark but it probably won’t be as gory."
And if you're hoping for a more straightforward continuation of the Netflix series' tone?...
