Former lead singer of the avante-garde band Soul Coughing.
Frequents Starbucks, usually ordering a triple grande no-foam latte.
Studied poetry at New York's New School with Ani Difranco.
Has released five albums since disbanding Soul Coughing in 2000:
Skittish (2000), Smofe + Smang: Live in Minneapolis (2002), Rockity
Roll (2003), Skittish/Rockity Roll (Mix) (2004), and Haughty Melodic
(2005).
Has self-released two solo albums, *Skittish* and Smofe + Smang: Live
in MPLS, and an EP, Rockity Roll, since disbanding Soul Coughing in
2000.
