The North Road Company has inked a deal with the Israeli-based film and television company Sipur for “Bad Boy,” a drama series hailing from “Euphoria” creator Ron Leshem and director Hagar Ben-Asher.
The crime drama series, which began principal photography in January, follows Dean, a successful comedian whose stint in a juvenile detention facility as a teenage threatens to shatter his career and life when information regarding his past resurfaces. While in jail, as Dean bonded with a mysterious teenager convicted of murder, he learned to harness his creativity and intelligence — traits Dean still holds with him years later.
The collaboration marks North Road’s first international co-studio deal since its formal launch in July 2022, and North Road and Sipur, formerly Tadmor Entertainment, are co-financing the series alongside Israeli platform Hot and Tedy Productions.

Less than a week after Euphoria’s dramatic Season 2 finale, HBO is addressing claims about a toxic and unsafe workplace environment on the set of the Zendaya-led drama.
Earlier in February The Daily Beast published a report that detailed the inner workings of Euphoria season 2, including alleged 15 to 17 work days, “hellish” night shoots and more. The Daily Beast also reported that background actors made complaints to SAG-AFTRA over failure “to provide them meals on time and refusing to let people use the bathroom,” among other allegations of a toxic production.”
The premium network shared the following statement in response to the allegations of SAG-AFTRA violations:
“The well-being of cast and crew on our productions is always a top priority. The production was in full compliance with all safety guidelines and guild protocols. It’s not uncommon for drama series to have complex shoots, and Covid protocols add an additional layer.

It's been a minute, but Euphoria Season 2 is almost on the air.
HBO on Monday dropped the full-length trailer for the new season, which will debut Sunday, January 9 at 9 p.m.
Zendaya is set to headline the second season, and the key players also include Hunter Schafer, Nika King, Eric Dane, Angus Cloud, and Jacob Elordi.
Algee Smith, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira, Maude Apatow, Javon Walton, Dominic Fike, Storm Reid, and Austin Abrams also star.
The trailer teases a dark turn for Rue as she wheels a suitcase around for much of the trailer, only to find her in some more harrowing scenes.
It looks like Rue could be selling drugs, but we can't confirm until we lay eyes on the finished product.
At the very least, she's making some bad decisions that look to come back and haunt her.

It's been a long time since we've had a fresh installment of Euphoria.
The award-winning Zendaya-led drama series first premiered in the summer of 2019.
It landed a quick renewal because it was a big hit with younger viewers HBO was trying to capture.
Unfortunately, the pandemic meant that production on the new season was scuppered, but HBO opted to schedule two specials; one in December 2020, and another in January 2021.
These episodes did not advance the stories of anyone aside from Rue and Jules, so fans will need to wait until 2022 to catch up with the rest of the characters.
The series is currently set to return on Sunday, January 9, according to Zendaya.
Production on the second season kicked off in April, so it's likely the season will air weekly without a hiatus in the middle.

MacDowell is currently starring in Netflix’s original series Maid, inspired by Stephanie Land’s New York Times bestselling memoir, alongside her daughter Margaret Qualley, and from Molly Smith Metzler, LuckyChap Entertainment and John Wells Productions. Shortly after its global premiere, the series quickly made history as one of the streamer’s most-watched limited series of all time. During the week ending Nov. 7, the series clocked 41.3M hours watched on the streamer in its sixth week. MacDowell’s feature credits include IFC’s No Man Land, Searchlight horror pic Ready or Not, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and Sex, Lies and Videotape, which won the Palme d’Or in 1989 and received an original screenplay Oscar nomination.
My Happy Ending is an Israeli/UK co-production bringing together producers Talia Kleinhendler & Osnat Handelsman-Keren/Pie Films, and Hannah Leader/Bbm (Gosford Park) and Daisy Allsop/Archface Films (Tell It To The Bees starring Anna Paquin).
“Watching her iconic performances over the years, Andie MacDowell’s ability to combine deep emotion and vulnerability with comedy made her the perfect choice for this role. We couldn’t be more excited to work with her and this wonderful ensemble of actors”, say producers Kleinhendler and Handelsman-Keren.
The movie just wrapped production in Wales. The film is financed by Media Finance Capital and United King Films, and received one of the first grants from the new UK Global Screen Fund, financed by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (Dcms) and administered by the BFI.
Moshe Edery, Tmira Yardeni, Arik Kneller and Bonnie Timmermann are executive producing along with Mfc’s Charles Dorfman and Marlon Vogelgesang. WME Independent are selling domestic rights.
MacDowell is repped by The Gersh Agency and Rms Productions.

Break out the glitter: Dominic Fike, Minka Kelly and Demetrius ‘Lil Meech’ Flenory Jr. have joined the cast of Season 2 of “Euphoria.”
While little is known about the plot of Season 2, Fike told Variety exclusively that his character is a “homie” who hangs out with Rue and Jules. The musician and first-time actor also described his character as a “degenerate” who reminds him of his younger self.
Eyeing a premiere in late 2021 or early 2022, the hit HBO series began filming again earlier this year for its long-anticipated Season 2. The series also stars Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira, Sydney Sweeney, Eric Dane and Algee Smith.
In late 2020, the show put out two special bottle episodes, “Trouble Don’t Last Always,” which focused on Zendaya’s character Rue, and “F**k Anyone Who’s Not A Sea Blob,” which centered around Hunter Schafer’s Jules. For her episode, Schafer...

Atx Television wrapped Day 1 with a screening of HBO’s upcoming drama Euphoria, the risqué teen drama based on the Israeli series. The highly graphic series follows a group of high school students as they navigate drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love, and friendship.
Creator and Ep Sam Levinson, an addict who has been sober for over ten years, had a deep connection to this piece. “The hardest thing about portraying a drug addict is — there are a lot of cautionary tales, there are a lot of after-school specials — but what I really wanted to get to the core of is the pain and the shame about what you’re doing and you’re inability to get clean despite the havoc and destruction you’re wreaking round you.”
Levinson was on hand for a Q&A discussion following the screening, along with stars Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Barbie Ferreira, and Eric Dane.

Get ready to feel the “Euphoria.” Drake and Future the Prince’s upcoming teen drama starring singer and actress Zendaya (lately of “The Oa” and “The Greatest Showman”) will be coming to HBO later this year. If a teaser the network released on Thursday is any indication, it’s going to be quite a trippy ride.
Set to the song “Hex” by Ark Patrol, the teaser gives a hint of some of the fun — and trouble — a group of high school students will have as they live in a world far removed from any John Hughes movie. Sam Levinson, who wrote and directed the bleak and violent “Assassination Nation,” will bring his sinister style to “Euphoria” as writer and executive producer on the project. Although it’s unclear how closely HBO’s series will hew to the Israeli show it’s based on, the original had plenty of sex, drugs,...
