Batman is a character that has been repeatedly cast in R-rated DC properties, which favor the dark and sinister nature of the character and his rogue’s gallery. Even when an R-rating is not sought for the project, it is mostly aimed at older children.

The Dark Knight trilogy is one of the finest superhero franchises out there, and while The Dark Knight Rises did close the book on Christian Bale’s Batman, screenwriter Jonathan Nolan would eagerly return for more.
Jonathan Nolan, who co-wrote both The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, was asked by Showsha if he’d like to return to the Batman franchise. “Wouldn’t that be a dream?” Nolan said. “That period was 10 years of my life [from] when I got the call to work on Batman Begins, and it was epic. Working with Christian [Bale], Heath [Ledger], Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and to honor an American icon. If I had the chance to go back and work on that again? Absolutely.“
Getting that bang back together would be a tall order, as Nolan admitted, “We’ve moved onto other things,” and “other people have picked up the mantel and moved on with those characters.

Two of the best new trends we have seen in anime lately is the emergence of original series, as in not based on manga, with titles like “Bna” and a combination of parodying/homage to the style of titles (or even genres) of the past as in series like “One Punch Man” and “Mob Psycho 100”. “Bang Brave Bang Bravern” manages to combine both, this time functioning as an homage/parody of mecha titles.

Ghost Killers vs. Bloody Mary
If bustin’ makes you feel good, Ghost Killers vs. Bloody Mary should be at the top of your queue. Imagine Sam Raimi remaking Ghostbusters from a Kevin Williamson script, and you have a pretty good idea of what this Brazilian horror-comedy is like: gory, self-aware, irreverent, and wildly entertaining.
When a local high school summons Bloody Mary, the Ghoulbusters — a team of local YouTubers with a cheesy ghost hunting show — are called in to take out the vengeful spirit. In addition to possessing people to the point of cranial combustion, the ghost exploits the high school setting by haunting inanimate objects,...

The Batman trilogy by Christopher Nolan got a lot of things right, but it also managed to get something horribly wrong. While there were some brilliant choices made in the films, such as the casting of Heath Ledger as Joker, some parts of the trilogy suffered under the weight of horrible decisions.
Liam Neeson as Ra’s al Ghul
One such choice was the casting of ethnically White actors to play the roles of Ra’s Al Ghul and Talia al Ghul, both of whom are depicted to be of Middle-Eastern descent in the comics. While there has been a resurgence in this particular criticism of Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, there is hope that upcoming Batman projects could correct these mistakes.

Upon its release last year, The Flash became one of the biggest mishaps in DC history, whose performance summed up the struggling state of the Dceu that finally ended with Aquaman 2. But while The Flash became a disaster for Wbd, which failed to break even, prior to its release, many Hollywood biggies claimed that it was the next big thing in CBMs, including Dcu head James Gunn.
Although many speculated that it was some sort of marketing strategy from Wbd’s side, surprisingly Gunn and Co. gave The Flash director Andy Muschietti the keys to Dcu’s Batman. And while many were in doubt, whether it was still the case or not following The Flash‘s failure, it seems Gunn is still putting faith in the It director to do the Caped Crusader justice.

Big|Brave have announced their new album, A Chaos of Flowers, arriving April 19th via Thrill Jockey.
The video for lead single “I Felt a Funeral” can be streamed now, offering a preview of the full-length to come. The video, shot in black-and-white, is also striking. A single-take shot of Wattie, the clip gives a direct and minimalist visual of the performer, whose interpretive movements mirror her almost free-jazz approach to singing, as she seemingly navigates multiple melodic pathways at once.

He Who Remains’ promise in the season one finale – that if Sylvie killed him he’d just end up right back on top – seems to hinge on a plan to kickstart a kind of causal loop, where a past variant receives a copy of Ob’s Tva guidebook and is inspired to create all manner of technological inventions, including a rough version of the temporal loom.

With “The Inventor,” Jim Capobianco (the Oscar-nominated screenwriter of “Ratatouille“) has managed to direct a family-friendly animated musical (in both stop-motion and 2D) about Leonardo da Vinci’s search for the meaning of life at the end of his life. That’s quite a da Vinci code to crack. Brave is the man who will sign up for a real-life father-daughter road movie set in the aftermath of an acrimonious divorce, but Ewan McGregor has no regrets about pairing up with his eldest child — by his first wife — for You Sing Loud, I Sing Louder, which screened as a tribute to the actor in Karlovy Vary. Set in a dreamlike American West, and very far removed from the specifics of the McGregors’ own personal situation, it finds a reformed alcoholic dad trying to reconnect with his offspring after collecting her from hospital. She thinks they’re off to visit an artist friend of her father’s, but the truth is that, in a bid to absolve himself of many years’ worth of guilt, he’s taking her to rehab.

It’s official: Andy Muschietti is going to the Batcave.
Ahead of the release of his superhero movie The Flash, Muschietti has decided to keep his feet firmly in the land of DC.
Muschietti finalized a deal to direct The Brave and the Bold, the feature project that will introduce a new big-screen version of Batman, one that will fit into the expansive universe being developed by DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran.
The involvement has been whispered about for several weeks. Muschietti, who has been on the Flash press tour, has been coy about his connection. But a deal was finally closed this week, according to a source, very conveniently timed to the opening of his movie.

Gunn has taken to Twitter again to address rumors, as new ones have surfaced that former Caped Crusader, Ben Affleck, might be helming the announced Batman movie, The Brave and the Bold. This incarnation will be separate from Matt Reeves’ Robert Pattinson-starring universe of The Batman films. Recently, a fan accused Gunn of lying about Affleck not directing The Brave and the Bold since these rumors have now surfaced.
The fan posted an article about Affleck possibly being the director and snidely asked, “Didn’t Gunn say in a previous interview that Affleck’s not directing Brave and the Bold? I get that Gunn is something of a professional liar, but still.” Gunn replied, “For years it’s been my commitment to the fans that I will never lie to them… and I never have. I’d be very curious about what it is you think I’ve lied about.

Robert Pattinson will return as Bruce Wayne in The Batman — Part II, once again written and directed by Matt Reeves. This news was part of DC Studios boss James Gunn’s recent announcement about what’s in store for their new universe — but it wasn’t the only Batman news he had to share. There’s another Batman movie in the works, but it doesn’t star Pattinson as the Caped Crusader.

With Gunn now in charge at DC, the studio’s direction has once again changed, and the DC Extended Universe, or Dceu, will be rebooted into simply the Dcu. But first, they must release projects that have already been produced. This summer, The Flash will hit theaters on June 16 and feature two different actors reprising the Dark Knight — Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck.

In August 2022, Raya from the film “Raya and the Last Dragon” was announced as the 13th official Disney Princess. Most of the group’s other dozen members have been part of the marketing brand since its launch in the early 2000s, while a few were added to the lineup in the years since. Over time, the Disney Princess criteria has shifted to be more focused on inner strength than outer beauty, and Raya just about perfectly illustrates that new ideal. Scroll through our photo gallery to find out her place on the Disney Princesses ranked list.

With those explosive words, Un Secretary General Antonio Guterres opened the high-level meeting of the General Assembly on Tuesday listing the crisis upon crisis piled upon the world.
He listed them: war, conflicts, climate change, hunger, financial crises, challenges of runaway technology developments, hate speech, global divisions and inequalities, and massive human rights violations.
"The United Nations Charter and the ideals it represents are in jeopardy," he said. "And yet we are gridlocked in colossal global dysfunction".
In the midst of the gloomy prognosis, Guterres projected on the giant screens at the General Assembly chamber the image of a ship navigating the troubled waters of the Black Sea.
It was the ship, Brave Commander, carrying food grains from Ukraine to Africa and he called it "an image of promise and hope" in "the hell of war".
"At its essence, this ship is a symbol of what the world can accomplish when we act together,...

If you thought Florian Zeller’s debut film “The Father” was a downer, get ready to fill your handkerchiefs with tears and nose fluids as the credits roll on his sophomore effort, “The Son.” It might be a bruising watch, but the perfectly modulated drama will be an across-the-board contender in all categories including best picture. And it’s a film that puts Hugh Jackman at the forefront of the best actor race for his remarkable performance as a father struggling to help his troubled teenage son (newcomer Zen McGrath).
“The Son,” which debuted at the Venice Film Festival, tells the story of Peter (Jackman), a hard-charging lawyer who agrees to have his son Nicholas (McGrath) live with him after the kid gets in trouble with his school. Their reunion takes place years after Peter divorced Nicholas’ mother (Laura Dern) and started a new life with his second wife Beth (Vanessa Kirby) and their baby.

When Oscar-winning animation director Mark Andrews (“Brave”) called his old Pixar pal Alex Mandel about his latest gig, “Super Giant Robot Brothers,” Mandel was 6,700 miles away in New Zealand managing projects for visual effects house Weta Digital.
Mandel, whose other creative side happens to be classically trained composer, dove into Andrews’ new project and created more than three hours of music for the series now airing on Netflix.
“Super Giant Robot Brothers” is a 3D animated action-comedy from Reel FX about massive metal robots destined to save the world from invading kaiju – giant monsters from space – while trying to overcome their own sibling rivalry. Andrews, a drummer who used to jam with guitarist Mandel at Pixar events, suggested the musical style: synthwave.
Synthwave combines heavy metal with ’80s synthpop, adding ’90s production elements for a retro-meets-modern approach that reminded Andrews of the Japanese animated series he watched as a kid.

Several years ago, this writer spent some time on the set of the NBC military drama The Brave and had the opportunity to talk mom-to-mom with Anne Heche.
She was playing The Brave’s leading role of badass Patricia Campbell, the head of operations for the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency, opposite Mike Vogel (Under the Dome), who led a second surveillance team.
The role required 12 to 14-hour days and the cast and crew explained that they became like a second family led by “den mother Anne Heche,” who frequently fed them and looked after them. The 13-episode one-season series even took them to Afghanistan for the fourth episode where they cemented their bonds.

London, Aug 14 (Ians) England left-arm pacer Tymal Mills is set to miss the remainder of The Hundred men’s competition due to toe injury. Mills had taken the field for his side Southern Brave during The Hundred 2022 on Wednesday night after giving himself time to heal from toe injury.
But a report in ESPNCricinfo says that his toe flared up yet again after Wednesday’s match and he didn’t play in Southern Brave’s next match. “He had surgery on Friday morning, which will be followed by another procedure on Wednesday, ruling him out of the rest of the tournament,” said the report.
The report further said that Mills is aiming to be fit in time to tour Pakistan in September, where England play seven T20I matches before flying to Australia for three T20Is and subsequently, the Men’s T20 World Cup to be held from October...
