Lucknow, Dec 12 (Ians) Lucknow will host the 57th All India Prakash Chandra Ghosh Memorial full length Bengali drama competition which will begin at Bengali Club from December 23.
The 18-day event will see teams from New Delhi, Kolkata and other parts of the country.
The plays will begin from 7 pm onwards daily and entry will be free.
Plays including – ‘Rabindranath Tagore’s Kabuliwala, Shree Charankamleshu, Bisharjjan and Mahamaya, Vijay Tendulkar’s Kamala and Utpal Dutt Hari Fathebe will be staged during the competition.
Directors like Shomik Roy, Rajkumar Pal and Gautam Bhattacharya are participating in the competition which will be judged by artists Indrajeet Mitra, Reena Biswas and Prabir Dey.

New Delhi, Aug 20 (Ians) Hockey India on Sunday named a 39-member core probable group for the senior men’s national coaching camp scheduled to be held from August 21 to September 18 at Sai Centre in Bengaluru.
The camp will serve as an opportunity for the players to gear up for the all-important Hangzhou Asian Games, which is scheduled to be held from September 23 to October 8 in China.
The Indian men’s hockey team will begin their campaign in the Hangzhou Asian Games against Uzbekistan on September 24. New Delhi, May 15 (Ians) Hockey India on Monday named a strong 24-member Indian Men’s Hockey Team for the next leg of the Fih Hockey Pro League in Europe starting May 26.
In their previous outing in the prestigious League matches at home, India remained unbeaten against reigning World Champions Germany and Australia which helped them top the points table. In Europe, they will hope to continue their winning momentum as they take on the formidable Belgium and Great Britain in London followed by matches against the Netherlands and Argentina in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
This will be the team’s first outing under newly-appointed Chief Coach Craig Fulton while the team will continue to be led by ace dragflicker and defender Harmanpreet Singh and Vice Captained by the prolific midfielder Hardik Singh.

Rajkot, Oct 10 (Ians) Gritty Uttar Pradesh got the better of Maharashtra in the tie-breaker to sneak into the men’s hockey final of the 36th National Games at the Dhyan Chand Stadium here on Monday.
After a keen battle, the teams were locked 3-3 at the end of regulation time, with Sumit, Sunil Yadav and Manish Yadav scoring for Uttar Pradesh and Aniket Gurav (2) and Sayyad Niyaz Rahim for Maharashtra.
Darshan Gawkar and Yuvraj Walmiki scored for Maharashtra in the shootout while Rajkumar Pal and Rahul Kumar Rajbhar for Up to make 2-2 after the tie-breaker too.
In the ensuing sudden-death, Indian camper Lalit Kumar Upadhyay scored for Up after Maharashtra’s Pratap Shinde failed, to give them a final 6-5 win.
Maharashtra looked the better side not just on paper but also on the field. But Uttar Pradesh impressed when it mattered most to keep the match alive till the end.

New Delhi, Oct 1 (Ians) A 33-member core group of probables for the national hockey camp starting October 3 to prepare for the Pro League 2022-2023 season opener in Bhubaneswar was announced on Saturday, with almost the big names figuring in the list.
The Indian team will take on New Zealand and Spain in double-header matches to be played at the Kalinga stadium in Bhubaneswar.
