"His characters, his ability to go deeper into the characters and
really, I mean you look at one of his musicals, if the right person is
doing it, the right person is playing the role then there is just so
much there. You can take one of his shows and watch it over and over
and over again or you can play the role over and over and over again
and there's constantly more layers to tear away, it's just.. he's a
genius (laughs) plain and simple, he's a genius! He is just amazing and
as an actor it's just the whole character thing and also not everybody
can do it because musically it is very challenging, he uses operatic
stuff, he uses belting stuff and generally you need to be able to do
everything in order to be in one of his shows. And I respect his
writing because of (that) ability. I mean to be able to write stuff
that difficult you have to be pretty brilliant. And watching the man
