You won’t find Evanescence singer Amy Lee chilling in da club with 50 Cent anytime soon. As the goth-rock vocalist explained in a new interview, the rapper “hates [her] guts.”
Fifty’s beef with Lee stems from the time he lost the Grammy for Best New Artist to Evanescence in 2004. Despite not being announced as the winner, 50 Cent still walked across the stage, making for an awkward moment during Evanescence’s acceptance speech.
When asked by Daily Beast about the incident, Lee responded, “50 Cent hates my guts,” adding, “It’s just one of those things… I mean, truthfully, we thought he was going to win, too. It was such a wild night. People are like, ‘What was it like to win a Grammy?’ and I’m like, ‘Stressful!’ I mean, it’s wonderful now, to have them, but it was surreal… I just remember thinking, ‘I don’t even think...

Evanescence are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their seminal 2003 album Fallen with a Super Deluxe Edition box set and expanded vinyl and CD reissues, arriving November 17th via Craft Recordings.
Each format includes various demos, outtakes, B-sides, and live recordings from the Fallen era, including a previously unreleased demo of the band’s massive hit “Bring Me to Life” that can be streamed below.
Amy Lee and company pulled out all the stops for the Super Deluxe Edition box set, which includes the standard 2-lp reissue and a box-set-exclusive cassette featuring unreleased demos and voice notes. It’s a boon for Evanescence completionists, as any Fallen-era rarities and demos have only surfaced on obscure bootlegs up to this point.
Additional ephemera in the box set includes a book featuring new track-by-track notes from Lee, a turntable slipmat emblazoned with the band’s logo, a double-sided poster, and an enamel pin set.

Tl;Dr:
Nazareth’s “Love Hurts” was a cover of a song in a different genre. A member of Nazareth said his band’s “Love Hurts” was the first rock ballad. That claim makes no sense.
One of the most famous classic rock songs of the 1970s is Nazareth’s “Love Hurts.” The track was originally by a 1950s/1960s band. Subsequently, Nazareth went out of their way to change the original song.
Nazareth’s ‘Love Hurts’ was originally a song by The Everly Brothers
The Everly Brothers had a handful of hits in the late 1950s and early 1960s, including “Cathy’s Clown,” “Wake Up Little Susie,” “Bye Bye Love,” and “That’s Old Fashioned (That’s the Way Love Should Be).”
They also released the first version of the song “Love Hurts.” It wasn’t a single, but merely an album track from the 1960 record A Date with the Everly Brothers.

When I was a child, my mother would play “Proud Mary” on repeat as I danced around our living room, singing along into my toy microphone at the top of my lungs. The power in her voice and in that song made me a lifelong fan of Tina Turner.

Bring Me the Horizon have announced their seventh full-length studio album, Post Human: NeX GEn, arriving September 15th via Columbia Records.
The news comes after a string of singles from the UK band: “DIE4u,” “sTraNgeRs,” “LosT,” and “AmEN!” It’s undetermined if those song will be included on the new album (the tracklist is pending), though the wonky capitalization in the titles implies they are likely part of the same collection.
The band used an immersive augmented-reality approach to announcing the album, offering fans a series of clues and riddles that eventually led to a secret building, The Church of Genxsis, which was on site at the Download Festival alongside Bmth’s appearance at the UK fest this past weekend. Once inside, fans experienced “a variety of immersive Genxsis rituals, including face branding, a sermon and tarot readings as they completed their journey to becoming members.”

Origins is a recurring series that gives artists a space to break down everything that went into their latest release. Today, Gavin Rossdale takes us through his “1000 Years” duet with Amy Lee from Bush’s deluxe edition of The Art of Survival.
Bush are set to unveil a deluxe edition of their 2022 album The Art of Survival this Friday (June 9th). In advance of the release, Gavin Rossdale is sharing the origins of a new version of the song “1000 Years” featuring a duet with Evanescence singer Amy Lee.
Rossdale and Lee performed the song together during a Bush show at the famed Ryman Auditorium in Nashville in February of this year. Prior to joining the band onstage, Lee sent Rossdale a demo of her vocals on the track, bringing the Bush frontman to tears.
“She sent me the song back with her vocal on it,” he told Audacy Music in an interview following the performance.

Evanescence’s 2003 anthem “Bring Me to Life” famously features a rap-metal section. For a while, Amy Lee abandoned that part of the song during the band’s live shows, but lately she’s re-embraced it with the help of some notable vocalists.
For Evanescence’s rendition of “Bring Me to Life” at the Rock Am Ring festival in Germany on Saturday (June 3rd), the band tapped a nu-metal luminary who had performed earlier that day: Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach.
Shaddix was a natural fit — especially considering he helped pioneer the nu-metal rap style with Papa Roach — nailing the vocal part that was performed by Paul McCoy of 12 Stones on the original recording.
Last year, Lee recruited P.O.D. singer Sonny Sandoval to perform the rap section of “Bring Me to Life” during a few shows.

There's a lot that can be said about Tina Turner. The music legend, who passed away on May 24th at the age of 83, had been dubbed the "Queen of Rock n' Roll" thanks to her huge impact on that genre while rising to prominence during the '50s and '60s. Her fit, impressive figure became so famous all by itself that she allegedly had her legs insured for $3.2 million. One of her first and biggest hit songs, "Proud Mary," became a hit that dwarfed the original version by Credence Clearwater Revival. Above all else, Turner was a consummate performer.
Given that, it's a crying shame that she graced the silver screen a mere handful of times, and most of those appearances were as herself. No matter who she was playing, Turner showed up and dug into the performance with as much spirit and professionalism as any of her live shows,...

YouTube violinist Lindsey Stirling has released her fifth studio album, Artemis -- named for the ancient Greek goddess of the moon.
Stirling, who is signed to BMG, says the album’s artwork was inspired by anime and thematically serves as a statement on reclaiming one's light after overcoming grief. Artemis features 13 tracks, including her most recent single, The Upside, which features vocals by singer/songwriter Elle King; title track Artemis (2 million views); album opener Underground; and Love Goes On And On, featuring vocals from Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee.
To fete the album, Stirling headlined a virtual concert -- as an avatar captured via body motion technology -- in collaboration with online concert platform Wave, which took place at the company’s studios in Los Angeles. The 30-minute performance garnered over 300,000 unique views. Artemis is currently available on all digital and streaming platforms, and an exclusive physical copy -- featuring two...

The shows will mark a return to the band’s standard rock-group format, following its Synthesis Live Tour, which paired them with orchestras. It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years since Evanescence came on the scene, but the rock band that formed in Little Rock, Arkansas, has definitely gone through some changes in that time. The band has gotten ride of a few members and taken on others as time has gone on, but one among them, Amy Lee, has been the rock that the group has centered around. Her hauntingly beautiful voice has been the reason why a lot of people have come to love this band and have followed them throughout the years. On a personal note her voice is

When she's not busy literally burning down the patriarchy as the mother of dragons, Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke is steadily becoming quite the movie star. Following the success of last year's weepie, Me Before You, she landed a role in the Star Wars spinoff about young Han Solo. Before that, she has something completely different in store: a thriller called Voice From the Stone.

When it comes to entertainment you love, if you have a sense of humor, you can admit when one of your favs is…less than intellectually stimulating. It’s okay to love trash, as I’ve said in the past. And man, the Underworld franchise always pushes down every dopamine button I have. It just calls out to my inner goth that's been shoved down due to being an adult with responsibilities now. The new trailer for Underworld: Blood Wars is no exception. Break out the Evanescence and the black hair dye! Plot and continuity be damned, there is shiny pleather and useless corsets to be worn! Between Charles Dance, Tobias Menzies, and whoever is playing the icy blonde (probably Lara Pulver after drinking magic blood), this installment is beginning to look like Game of Thrones: Vampire Edition. … Okay, now I want that. Underworld: Blood Wars arrives in theaters...

Speaking about creating something different to her usual output, she told Rolling Stone: "I wanted it to be completely different. I didn't want it to be like Evanescence just because I've flexed that muscle so much, I wanted people to see different sides of me.

"Scary Movie 5" opened in theaters this past weekend and if you're like most human beings, you're probably wondering just one thing: Why?
But the fact that Hollywood made yet another "Scary Movie" is really no surprise. After all, most studios believe that while you may not be able to beat a dead horse, you can certainly continue to milk a dead cash cow ... which explains why so many franchises continue to get sequels long after any they've stopped being interesting, fresh or creative. Why make something new when you can make something cheap and derivative instead?
So with that in mind, here's a look at nine more franchises that need to end right now. Because the scariest thing we can think of is the possibility of a "Scary Movie 6."
'Transformers'
Okay, so the chances of Paramount ending the "Transformers" franchise any time soon — or ever — is pretty...

Attention Tegan and Sara fans! This morning presale and meet and greet tickets went on sale for the musical duo. What are you waiting for? Go get them!
What do you think of Jessie J's self portrait?
For some reason The CW is developing a "Hunger Games-style” reality show. (The people at the CW obviously haven't read the book.) The series titled The Hunt consists of 12 teams of two who are dropped off in the middle of the wilderness without food, water and shelter, and are on a mission to capture the other teams. If there is a lesbian team I promise...

Welcome to the latest in our admittedly rather intermittent series of soundtrack roundups. Today we have wolves, horses and zombies as well as uncouth adolescents and vampires. Exciting stuff!
Let’s kick off with The Inbetweeners soundtrack (which may give you some idea of how far behind I’ve got on these things…). As you might expect, the collection is mostly comprised of summery rock and dance tracks, punctuated by snippets of crudity from the clunge-seeking gang, taken from the film (though none really convey how funny it is on screen). Everyone’s favourite geezer-rap national treasure Mike Skinner adds a handful of incidental tracks with titles such as ‘Pussay Patrol’ and ‘Clunge in a Barrel’. It’s also got Ke$ha on it. I know I shouldn’t but I really like Ke$ha. I think she’s funny and does catchy, well-written tunes. So no complaints here.

Linkin Park and Evanescence are among the artists featured on the upcoming Underworld: Awakening soundtrack. The Cure and Lacuna Coil will also appear on the album for the fourth movie in the Underworld series starring Kate Beckinsale. Many of the tracks receive a remix from Renholder (Danny Lohner), who had also produced remixes for the previous Underworld film, as well as being a member of Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer. Underworld: Awakening is released at cinemas on January 20, with the soundtrack released three days earlier. Linkin Park are currently working on their follow-up album to 2010's A Thousand Suns. > Underworld Awakening: Kate Beckinsale's vampire movie in pictures The tracklisting in full: Evanescence - 'Made of Stone' (Renholder (more)...

In the interest of good journalism, I'm handing this one over to a true expert: Goth-phase Josh Harrison, circa 9th grade. Take it away, Goth Josh:
So, like, they're making another Underworld movie and it's like, whatever. Because, like, the vampire mythos in the original movies was just so bad. And, it was... it was, like, not good. I guess Kate Beckinsale is kinda hot, but like, not as hot as Amy Lee or anything. Sigh. It's just so hard to care about anything these days. Even Underworld. I wish I were a vampire, though. That'd be awesome.
The only dim, fading light of awesome in a universe of suck.

Here's the thing about vampires: you can't really kill them because they're already dead. Think about it. So if any of you thought the "Underworld" series of films was dead just because star Kate Beckinsale hasn't appeared in any of them since 2006, well, we've got news for you:
Selene is back -- and she is pisssssssssssssssssed.
Yes, grab your ipod and queue up some Evanescence, because the brand new trailer for "Underworld: Awakening" has just arrived and Becks is back in business, as sultry and gothy as ever and ready to kick some major league booty in the name of vampire equality.
"Underworld: Awakening" is, of course, the fourth film in the "Underworld" franchise, which first began blowing minds back in 2003. But unfortunately, Beckinsale decided to skip the last offering -- the 2009 prequel "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans" -- leading some to believe that a stake had been driven through the series.

Having already won Grammys, toured around the globe and sold million copies of their albums, Evanescence are now eying to get hired by Summit Entertainment to write a song for "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part I". In fact, they already have one perfect song for the movie.
"I've been screaming for [new song] 'My Heart Is Broken' to land in that, because I think it would fit the story so well. I got sucked into the 'Twilight' vortex by the girls at home, so by default, I've got to watch it," drummer Will Hunt said during an interview with MTV recently. Amy Lee added, "I think that would be awesome."
In the past, Amy actually had tried to write song for the Robert Pattinson-starring film. Recalling how she joined the Twihards, she stated, "I didn't watch the first movie - I was like, 'Yeah, whatever. I got over vampires in...

Welcome to Top 5 Tuesday, a column that celebrates turkey bacon, comfy shorts, and inexplicable 3-week-long hiatuses. Each week we'll be listing off the Top 5 persons, places, things, or ideas of our own choosing. This week, in celebration of the release of Green Lantern, Tmp brings you: "The Top 5 Worst Superhero Films of the Last 10 Years."
Preamble:
In order to mitigate the stress, strain, and overall work it would take to compile a decent list of the 5 worst superhero of all time, certain parameters have been established in which to limit this week's listing. First, as the title should make obvious, we're going to limit the criteria to those films released within the last 10 years (that's right - from June 21, 2001 to today). Furthermore, we're going to be limiting our query to films based on pre-established superhero characters, thereby eliminating Sharkboy & Lavagirl, Uma Thurman being a Super Ex-Girlfriend (ugh), and the children in attendance at Sky High.
