Ashiskumar Singh Rampul, known professionally as Ashis Ramphul, is a Mauritian singer-songwriter, record producer and actor. He gained a following in 2017, after releasing his debut single "Na Jaana" which broadcasted on national television and nominated for "song of the year" on local radio stations.
Ashis Ramphul started his music career at a very young age performing in private shows with his father. Years later, he became a YouTuber, posting song covers. After progressing his skills, he decided to create original music and videos with the help and support of his family and friends. He has released several singles as a solo artist and his debut EP, Teri Yaad, was released in January 2021. He sings predominantly in Hindi, but has also performed in Bhojpuri and Mauritian Creole.
Ashis Ramphul starred in independent short films, Future (2019), The Cupboard (2020), Future 2.0 (2020) and Lockdown In Mauritius (2020).

Ashis Ramphul was born in Mauritius to the singer-songwriter Asweeny kumarsing Rampul, known professionally as Dilip Ramphul and his wife Rinabye Rampul. He has an elder sister named Dhanista and younger brother named Khemraj Singh Rampul, known professionally as Khem Ramphul. He was raised in a religious Hindu family.
His childhood was unique as he became an open-heart surgery survivor when he was 2 years old. Years later, he had to experience multiple surgeries from unexpected complications. Now, he is fine and still follows regular check-ups.
Ashis Ramphul was taught to play manjira, harmonium, keyboard and later singing lessons by his father at a very young age. Years later, He studied vocal hindustani music at Mahatma Gandhi Institute. He also took part in an inter-college competition by Ministry of Education and Human Resources (National Talent Show 2014) and a singing competition by Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation (Star 2014 - Hindustani Category) where he ended up both in the finals.
Ashis Ramphul went to La Sourdine Government School, Saint Aubin State Secondary School and last Hamilton College. After a school dropout and quit his training job later, he decided to left everything behind and go full time on his music career.
