Today, Apple TV+ announced that Land of Women, its new six-episode dramedy starring and executive produced by Golden Globe nominee Eva Longoria, will make its global debut with two episodes on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.

She will exec produce alongside Sandra Condito, president of film and TV at Longoria’s production company UnbeliEVAble Entertainment.

The 2022 edition of InFocus: Latinx & Hispanic Cinema Film Festival from NewFilmmakers LA (Nfmla) will be held from Sept. 23-24 in association with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
For the first time since 2019, the festival will be held in-person at the Academy’s Linwood Dunn Theater in Hollywood. The lineup consists of three short film programs showcasing a variety of genres. "Cómplices," (Accomplices) which is now in advanced post-production stage, is a romantic comedy which marks the company’s first Dominican-shot film under the multi-picture deal signed with Pantelion Films.The film tells the story of an uncle who is forced to take his despondent nephew under his wing as they go on an exotic adventure to the Dominican Republic. The movie was directed by Luis Eduardo Reyes and produced by Leo Zimbrón, producer of the Mexican hit "Pulling Strings," with Sandra Condito and Lantica Pictures, Lantica Media’s production company. "Cómplices" features Mexican actors Arath De La Torre and Jesús Zavala as well as Dominican stars Liche Ariza, Paula Ferry, Sharlene Taulé and Claudette Lalí.
“The completion of principal photography on our first project under the multi-picture agreement with Pantelion Films is an achievement of which we are quite proud,” commented Antonio Gennari, CEO of Lantica Media. Pantelion Films has acquired the U.S. and Canadian distribution rights to the suspense thriller Hours , directed by Eric Heisserer ( Final Destination 5 , The Thing ) and starring Paul Walker and Genesis Rodriguez, it was announced today by Pantelion Films CEO Paul Presburger. Pantelion will distribute the film theatrically and on VOD in the U.S. on December 13, 2013. Hours is produced by the Safran Company ( The Conjuring ) in conjunction with Palmstar Media and the Hirsch Group. The deal was made by Rena Ronson on behalf of UTA and Pantelion's Presburger. - Forget Revlon. Latino beauty Eva Mendes will be getting down and dirty as she changes things up, playing the one who'll be throwing the punches in her next pic. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Mendes is set to star in Jonathan Jakubowicz's Queen of the South, based on the bestseller by Arturo Perez Reverte. Mendes will be playing a Mexican woman who escapes to Spain after the murder of her boyfriend, only to become a powerful drug lord motivated to avenge her beau's death. Jakubowicz will also direct Josh Hartnett and Ben Kingsley in what will be the helmer's second feature. Hartnett will play a Marine, with Kingsley as a Russian businessman. Venezuelan director Jakuowicz's first pic, Secuestro express, was released in 2005 and tells the story of a wealthy young couple who are kidnapped by three delinquents. Elizabeth Avellan and Sandra Condito will produce the adaptation of Spanish writer Arturo Perez-Reverte's novel about a Mexican woman turned Spanish drug lord (Mendes) out to avenge her boyfriend's murder. Hartnett plays a Marine who gets involved in her business, and Kingsley plays a Russian businessman.
The project, once set up at Warner Independent, is now being independently financed by Winchester Capital in conjunction with Origen PC and Plural Entertainment. Essential Entertainment is handling international sales.
The leads are repped by CAA; Mendez is additionally repped by Management 360.
