- In the 1980s, Eddie Abele was a highly touted, hard-punching, knockout artist from Miami, Florida. After compiling a record of 14 wins (13 by knockout), and 1 draw, Abele was rated 4th in the world in the Super Light-Heavyweight Division (175.1-182lbs.)in March 1984. In 1986, following a jet-ski accident, in which the jet-ski struck him in the head, Abele was forced to retire from ring competition. His career record was 16-1-1 with 14 knockout victories.
