In January 2004 the music journalists in Norway's second largest
newspaper (Dagbladet) voted him the most powerful man in the Norwegian
music industry (he was 30 at the time).
Has worked in the Norwegian music industry since his late teens.
Already as a student he worked for popular Norwegian
comedians/singer/songwriters Herodes Falsk and Tom Mathisen. From there he worked
his way up and finally ending up as manager for artists like MTV Europe
Music Awards winner Lene Marlin and Sissel Kyrkjebø (the voice on the
"Titanic" soundtrack), before becoming the much-publicised main judge
for the Norwegian version of "Idol".
Has one son, William, born in 2001.
Is a huge fan of the TV series "Frasier".
Daughter Felicia, born June 2005, with actress Janne Formoe.
"Idol" doesn't create talent, it finds them. I have never been a fan of
constructed TV consepts like "Fame Factory" or "Pop Stars". (February
2004)
OK, I'm not proud when people leave the audition-room crying. At the
same time I must give my honest opinion. It's part of the job. (March
2004)
I can be very fired up in discussions, but I've never fought with
anyone. I don't have the knack for it, I simply don't know how. Just as
well, because I would get whooped by anyone. Definitely. (March 2004)
