London, Oct 2 (Ians) Former England all-rounder Craig White feels Yorkshire would have been “gutted” by the side’s relegation to Division Two of the County Championship following the dismal performances this season, a consequence of the Azeem Rafiq racism scandal.
Rafiq, who played for Yorkshire between 2008 and 2018, claimed that the racial abuse he suffered left him close to committing suicide and that his reports of abuse were “ignored” by the club at the time.
In the wake of the allegations, almost the entire coaching and management staff of the county side was sacked, dealing a huge blow to the team’s preparations ahead of the County season.
The relegation has come at a time when new skipper, Pakistan’s 32-year-old left-hand batter Shan Masood, is taking over from Steve Patterson, who announced that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season.

London, Oct 2 (Ians) New Yorkshire skipper Shan Masood has said there is no point dwelling on the past and there was a need to “move on” as the county side aims to recover from the racism scandal that rocked them following disclosures by former player Azeem Rafiq before UK’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (Dcms) last year.
Rafiq, who played for Yorkshire between 2008 and 2018, claimed that the racial abuse he suffered left him close to committing suicide and that his reports of abuse were “ignored” by the club at the time.
Masood, the 32-year-old Pakistan international left Derbyshire to become one of Yorkshire’s two overseas players. He has joined Yorkshire on a two-year deal. The left-hand batter takes over from Steve Patterson, who has announced that he is will leave the club at the end of the season.

Even though she's mastered the art of tweeting from her tablet, Queen Elizabeth still likes to put her thoughts from pen to paper. So when the monarch visited a luxury silversmith in Scotland last week, they knew just what to get her - something special to hold her beloved sticky notes. As the Queen and husband Prince Philip walked around the showroom and workshops of Edinburgh-based Hamilton & Inches, she was handed a hand-crafted sterling silver Post-it note holder. "A little birdie told us that this may come in quite handy. It's a Post-it note holder for your desk," Stephen Paterson,...

This is huge. Our High-School-tv Showdown is in full swing, replete with an accompanying fan vote over on our Facebook page. Through the first two days all went as expected, as the reader picks aligned with our critics' selections for the matchups of Buffy the Vampire Slayer vs. Dawson's Creek and Beverly Hills, 90210 vs. The O.C. (Buffy and 90210 prevailed.) But yesterday, when Glee vs. Friday Night Lights came up for a vote, the maniacs on our Facebook page went off-script: In a stunning twist, Gleeks piled up roughly twice as many votes as Fnl's cheerleaders. This is getting real: Stephen Patterson: "Glee will always remain as one of the greatest shows of any generation. I still miss it." Samuel ßajaña: "Really Guys? Glee 'has no comparison, just look all the likes that is in their social networks and awards, look how many awards won!!! Glee Is Almost A Legend!

Harvey Weinstein — who has had a hand in bringing more than 250 productions to life, including Pulp Fiction, Lord of the Rings, and last year's Oscar winner The Artist — may be on top of his game at work. But as he tells Hollywood Dailies' host Steve Patterson, that's not at case at home.
Can I tell you that I have four daughters? And every day when I go to work, I deal with all four of them. And I lose every battle in the morning.
Weinstein also talked about his latest project, The Intouchables, and why he's been pursuing movies made by French auteurs as of late. What's next? You'll never guess what type of movie Weinstein has on his Bucket List.

Who's your favorite actress/real-life pixie?
Hollywood Dailies host Steve Patterson talked with Michelle Williams about her upcoming movie, and one thing is clear: Success clearly hasn't gone to the three-time Oscar-nominated actress' head.
Just like her character in Take This Waltz, Williams is sweet, humble, engaging, and most refreshing of all, incredibly honest and genuine. Watch our interview and see if you, too, don't end up with a little bit of a crush.

Up-and-coming actor Karl Urban, who made an appearance last week at the San Diego Comic-Con in support of his new comic book-based movie, Red, recently told ReelzChannel's Steve Patterson that it was looking good for him to star in producer Danny Boyle's planned live-action Judge Dredd reboot. Urban has now confirmed that he has officially landed the role by telling the host of the TV3 show Reel Late with Kate (via 3News), "I am the law," a line borrowed from the 2000 A.D. comic books in which Judge Dredd first appeared.

Montreal -- Montreal's Just for Laughs comedy festival wrapped its English-language industry showcase over the weekend without U.S. network talent scouts pulling out their wallets.
As in recent years, performing comics secured hearty applause and the occasional standing ovation at comedy's Woodstock, with possible deal-making to follow down the road after meetings back in Los Angeles or New York.
The big stage in Montreal as ever was the twice-nightly galas at the St. Denis Theatre, hosted Saturday night by Steve Martin, who brought his banjo and his Steep Canyon Rangers bluegrass band.
"It feels good to be doing something purely for the money," Martin joked while making his first-ever Just for Laughs appearance.
Dane Cook was a late and unpublicized addition to the gala bill, at the request of Martin.
"No one expected Cook, so it really surprised and delighted the (St. Denis) audience," Just for Laughs COO Bruce Hills said Sunday.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. If you don't have that someone special to shop for, consider using those free funds to make a donation to Kids Kicking Cancer. You might just win yourself a dinner date with King Leonidas (aka Gerard Butler) in either Los Angeles or New York.
Butler has long supported this charity that trains children in the mind-body techniques found in karate and meditation as a way to cope with and fight cancer. Everyone who donates to Kids Kicking Cancer from now until February 13 is eligible to win the dinner or another one of the prizes Butler is offering, which include a set visit to one of his upcoming movies and reserved seating at a red carpet premiere. The contest is being held in conjunction with the fansite GerardButler.net, which has all the contest details.

Chicago – ABC’s “Surviving Suburbia” was originally supposed to air on The CW but the network that found a home for “Stylista,” “13: Fear is Real,” and “Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants” decided to leave this Bob Saget sitcom off their schedule after their deal with the show’s production company fell through.
Television Rating: 0.0/5.0 It should have ended there. “Surviving Suburbia” could have been one of many unaired pilots and the world could have moved on. But ABC swooped in and picked it up. The only question worth asking is why anyone at ABC decided to give this horrible show a second chance and how many weeks it will be on before it goes back into the development hell it should have stayed in all along.

I’m almost tempted to recommend “Surviving Suburbia” just so you can appreciate what other sitcoms do well.
