A Universal Monsters project is coming our way from Radio Silence, the filmmaking team that previously brought Ready or Not, Scream (2022), and Scream VI to the screen. Universal has scheduled an April 19, 2024 theatrical release date for the film, which was once going by the title Dracula’s Daughter and now going by the less informative title of Abigail. With the release date just a couple weeks away, the film has gotten a new trailer, which you can check out in the embed above, as well as a Dolby Cinema poster, which can be seen at the bottom of this article.
Radio Silence members Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett directed the film, while the third member of the trio, Chad Villella, is a producer. Their Scream movie collaborators William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, and James Vanderbilt of Project X Entertainment are also producing the monster movie alongside their Ready or Not producer Tripp Vinson.

Jennie Garth is no fan of Dan Schneider‘s. The actor co-starred in the sitcom What I Like About You with Amanda Bynes from 2002-2006, a sitcom that was co-created by Schneider. Garth was asked about her working relationship with Schneider following the bombshell Quiet on Set documentary that details the alleged abuse child actors experienced on set of Schneider’s Nickelodeon shows. Garth was blunt in her response. “I don’t want to talk about Dan Schneider ever again in my life,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. Garth did not explain why she made this statement about Schneider, but her love for Bynes has not wavered. Garth says she hasn’t spoken with Bynes since the documentary debuted on Investigation Discovery, but said, “I just love her and I would love to see her at any point.” Bynes did not participate in interviews for Quiet on Set, but she...

Pat E. Johnson, known for choreographing fights and training actors for “The Karate Kid” films, has died of natural causes at his Los Angeles home. He was 84.
Johnson’s niece Colleen Mary Johnson Summerville confirmed the news on Facebook, writing, “It is with a sad heart I’m sharing my Uncle Pat has passed this Sunday morning.”
Johnson held the title of ninth-degree black belt, putting his martial arts skills to use on the set of the beloved coming-of-age film “The Karate Kid” (1984), training actors including Pat Morita and Ralph Macchio. Morita’s Mr. Miyagi trains Macchio’s Daniel Larusso in the art of karate after bullies begin antagonizing him at his new school in Los Angeles.
Johnson taught Macchio the now-iconic crane kick which won Daniel the championship at the All Valley karate tournament in the first film. He also acted as referee in the film.

Awa Studios announced this morning the upcoming release of The Ribbon Queen.
This new horror series reunites National Comics and two-time Eisner award-winning writer Garth Ennis (Preacher, The Boys) and artist Jacen Burrows (Crossed, Moon Knight).
Debuting July 26, the 8-issue comic series will tackle crime and punishment, revenge versus justice, toxic masculinity, and police corruption in present-day New York City. That it comes from Ennis and Burrows means we can expect this journey to get violent and gruesome.
The Ribbon Queen is “Set in the wake of summer 2020’s Black Lives Matter protests” and “follows NYPD detective Amy Sun. Detective Sun is working a grisly murder case when she discovers a unit within the department that is rotten to the core… and something even more terrifying that hunts them. Each time Amy narrows in on the corrupt cops around her, she discovers them literally unraveled and torn to ribbons. Detective...

Melbourne, April 5 (Ians) Grace Harris, Kim Garth, Heather Graham and Phoebe Litchfield were on Wednesday added to Cricket Australia’s list of women’s players to be offered national contracts for 2023-24 including 13 players retained from last season.
The quartet became the beneficiaries of the additional national deals made available under cricket’s new Memorandum of Understanding.
The total number of women’s contracts available has risen from 15 to 18 under Cricket Australia’s new Memorandum of Understanding with the players, with Carey declining one of the 18 spots.
Harris has been offered a contract after earning an upgrade during the 2022 Commonwealth Games and being a regular in the white-ball teams since then. The all-rounder played all six matches including the final for the dominant Australia outfit at the Icc Women’s T20 World Cup earlier this year.
Garth and Graham were also members of the triumphant Australia squad at the tournament.

Everyone’s favorite 90s stars were present at this year’s 90s Con in Connecticut, including Tori Spelling, Ian Ziering, Jason Priestly, Rose McGowan, Brian Krause, Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth.
Garth posted pictures from the con on her social media, captioning the post, “It was more like Friends Con Loved seeing some familiar and friendly faces this weekend.”

The 90210 star took selfies with costars Spelling, Priestley and Ziering, while noticeably not having one with Doherty. For other stars Garth didn’t get the chance to visit – such as Kathy Najimy, Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Holly Marie Combs – she found and took pictures with banners of them.
People were quick to speculate about the absence of Doherty in person or on a banner, but Garth quickly shut all rumors down.
“Ok. everyone needs to take a deep breath…” Garth wrote in a second post about the Con.

Penelope Spheeris' 1992 comedy "Wayne's World" argues that metalheads, often depicted in movies as violent, death-obsessed Satan worshipers, are actually just really kind, goofy guys. Wayne (Mike Myers) and Garth (Dana Carvey) are funny, approachable dudes who like hosting their own public access talk show, going to metal shows, and going to get donuts while listening to Queen cassettes. They speak their own lingo and dream of bigger things, just like everyone. Are they a little weird? You'd be surprised how normal they are.
Indeed, one of the recurring elements of "Wayne's World" is that Wayne has recently broken up with his girlfriend Stacy (Lara Flynn Boyle). Although two months have gone by and Wayne has made it very clear that they are no longer dating, Stacy still behaves like they're together. Stacy seems a little clueless, so the audience has to take Garth's word for it when she is described as a "psycho hose beast.

The villain in Penelope Spheeris' 1992 comedy hit "Wayne's World" was clearly minted in his era. Rob Lowe plays a character named Benjamin who seeks to turn the heroes' local cable access show into a slick, well-advertised, commercial entertainment. Benjamin, possessed of few scruples, sees nothing wrong with building new sets, bringing in high-tech toys, and requiring Wayne and Garth (Mike Meyers and Dana Carvey) to interview the show's biggest sponsor. Wayne and Garth are getting a great deal of money to expand their show and their show's audience, but they resent that they have to sell out in order to do it.
For those born after, say, 1990, "selling out" was once considered among Generation X's most grievous mortal sins. Making antiestablishment art in a basement while barely scraping by financially was the morally upright thing to do, while allowing a corporation to pay you for compromise was punishable by excommunication from GenX.

An excellent interview with Saturday Night Live alum Dana Carvey is making the rounds after the 67-year-old comedian said he’s game for Wayne’s World 3. Carvey spoke with People on Sunday night at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., where his former SNL castmate Adam Sandler received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. While taking a break from the event, People asked Carvey if Wayne’s World 3 could happen. Carvey said he’s “always game” to team up with Myers for another film based on the Aurora misfits and their hard-rockin’ adventures.
“Yes, it is,” Carvey said when asked if a third Wayne’s World movie is possible. “I don’t know. Maybe we’ll do it in puppets. I’m not sure.”
Okay, Carvey. Now that you’ve put the idea into the world, who do I have to bribe to get Wayne’s World 3 with puppets off the ground?...
