J.K. Simmons, Johnny Simmons (no relation), Brittany Snow and Jane Lynch are set to star in Kevin Pollak's comedy "The Late Bloomer" for Eclectic Pictures and Ineffable Pictures. Filming has begun in Los Angeles ahead of a shift to Bulgaria.
Based on Ken Baker's 2001 memoir "Man Made," the story follows the E! news correspondent's experience of going through puberty for the first time at age thirty after having a pituitary tumor removed.
The benign tumor rested against his pituitary gland and delayed his puberty and normal development. Though the tumor's removal restored him to hormonally normal masculinity, it resulted in him having to experience all the effects of puberty over an extremely condensed three-week period.
Johnny Simmons portrays the lead who works as a sex therapist in an office headed by Lynch's character. Snow portrays the girl next door, while J.K. Simmons and Bello play his suffocating parents.

Ian Shorr ("Splinter") has been hired to pen the script for a film based on Matthew Power's GQ article "Excuse Us While We Kiss The Sky" at Ineffable Pictures.
The article followed a group of academics and white collar types in Europe who have an interesting night job - they are urban explorers who infiltrate abandoned or under construction off-limit city structures (skyscrapers, metro stations, bomb shelters, etc.)
In particular the piece followed a London-based team which includes the likes of a computer programmer, an ICU doctor, a photographer and a geography academic.
The plan is to use their real-life exploits for a globe-trotting, action-fueled thriller. Raphael Kryszek and Jesse Israel will produce.

Actor Brad Dourif is most commonly known for his roles in genre fare such as Exorcist 3, Grim Prairie Tales, and the Child’s Play series. In more recent years Dourif has expanded his repertoire on television with roles in Deadwood and Law & Order, but that hasn’t stopped him returning to the more creepy roles with which he made his name, such as in his latest movie Death and Cremation.
The debut of director Justin Steele, Death and Cremation is from a script by Alecc Bracero and Justin Steele, and stars Dourif along with Jeremy Sumpter (Friday Night Lights), Scott Elrod, Debbon Ayer (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), Daniel Baldwin (Homicide: Life on the Street), and Staci Keenan (My Two Dads, Step by Step) in a story that takes place:
In Crest Point, [where] people go about their day-to-day lives with no sense of urgency and standard stereotypes abound. There...

Seeing a rather distraught Brad Dourif coming up the steps towards you with a baseball bat resting comfortably on his shoulder isn’t the most soothing of images. It does, though, make a damn fine beginning to a trailer for a film called Death And Cremation.
In the film, directed by first time feature film director Justin Steele, Dourif plays middle-aged man who performs a service to his community. He runs the local crematorium, but, more than that, he rids the neighborhood of people he deems unworthy of the life they’ve been given. Imagine the strange relationship that sparks when a 17-year-old outcast comes to the crematorium as his helper.
The film also stars Jeremy Sumpter of “Friday Night Lights” fame, Daniel Baldwin, and Scott Elrod. Ross Otterman serves as producer with Ken Hendrick, Raphael Kryszek, Daniel Aldema, and Andy Jensen Sved acting as executive producers. Tiago Mesquita is...
