The CW will remake ITV's 2012 mini-series The Town.
Sherlock's Andrew Scott starred alongside Martin Clunes in the three-part drama, which followed Scott's Mark Nicholas as he returned to his hometown to investigate the apparent suicide of his parents.
Pretty Little Liars co-showrunner Oliver Goldstick will write and executive produce the CW's remake, a co-production from Russian Hill and Big Talk Productions for Warner Bros Television.
Creator Mike Bartlett, who subsequently received a BAFTA nomination for Breakthrough Talent for the crime drama, will also serve as an executive producer.
He will be joined by fellow executive producers Matthew Justice, Kenton Allen and Simon Curtis.
The Town attracted an average audience of 3 million (13.2%) over its three-episode run in December 2012.

In episode two of ITV’s The Town, Mark Nicholas (Andrew Scott) made the ghoulish decision to go and work at his late mother’s office. After snooping around her work space, he eventually got his hands on her personal items. Much to his chagrin, these included some photos of his mother canoodling with the police officer who was tasked with investigating her death.
Nicholas never would have found out about the affair if a meddlesome councilor hadn’t defied the Mayor (Martin Clunes) and saved the offending photos from the dumpster. We’re now left wondering whether the double suicide was what it appeared to be and if the police and the mayor’s office knew more about the incident then they cared to admit.
While the double suicide is the main focus of the story line, the characters are as captivating as...

ITV pulled out all the stops to assemble an all-star cast for the mystery drama The Town. Network favorites Martin Clunes (Doc Martin), Julia McKenzie (Marple) and Phil Davis (Whitechapel) were joined by Sherlock’s Andrew Scott in the odd ball drama that began with a middle aged couple committing suicide. While the police accepted the tragedy at face value, the couple’s son (Scott) delved deeper and gathered evidence that a blackmailer may have driven the duo to do the unthinkable.
Mark Nicholas (Scott) was the principal character in the first episode and we saw him experience a roller-coaster of emotions ranging from anguish to anger as he grappled with his parent’s death and an uncomfortable meeting with his ex. It was odd to hear an English accent coming out of Scott’s mouth but if you could block memories of...

The London Olympics will be available to free to air viewers in HD, Nine has revealed.
The announcement came as part of Nine’s launch event for its first coverage of the Games since winning the rights from Seven. The Olympics begin in late July and run into August.
In common with rivals Seven and Ten, Nine’s main channel is in standard definition only. But for the duration of the games, it will be simulcasting with Gem which is in high definition.
Meanwhile, partly because of the time difference with the UK, Nine’s Olympics will be on virtually around the clock.
This includes competition coverage from 6.30pm through the night to 9am. This will then be followed by a two hours highlights compilation which will also air again in the afternoon.
Although the Today show will not air during the Olympics, presenters Karl Stefanovic, Lisa Wilkinson and Cameron Williams...

The hosts for coverage of the London 2012 Olympics on Australian television have been announced. Karl Stefanovic, Leila McKinnon, Eddie McGuire, Mark Nicholas, Ken Sutcliffe and Cameron Williams will front the Nine Network's Olympic Games coverage later this year. The network's managing director Jeff Browne, who has been accused of sexism for only hiring one woman compared to five male presenters, denied that the channel is too male-orientated. "It's an easy thing to say that and I don't believe there is any proof of that whatsoever," he told the Herald Sun. "We have some talented people at our network - as many women as there (more)...
