Film directors and their crew discuss the techniques and approaches to capturing fruitiness on the big (and small) screen...
John Badham has written a couple of excellent books where he passed on advice about directing movies, and the lessons he's learned across his own career. In the latest, John Badham On Directing, he raises the spectre of filming sex scenes, and the problems that ensue.
Actors get really spooked when it comes to intimacy in a scene, even kissing", he wrote. "This is where the director has to be extremely patient with the actors and know that the emotional or intimate part of scenes don’t always shoot as easily as the production department thinks they should. The actors are not robots on a Toyota assembly line".
But just how do different filmmakers approach putting intimacy on film? In lots of different ways, is the answer...

Rupert Finch and Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs were married at the Church of St. John the Baptist in Gloucester, England today. Natasha, who is a socialite and the founder of the clothing line Beulah London, wore a gown from her own label for her nuptials to Rupert, a lawyer, after the two became engaged last May. Princess Eugenie and Prince Harry's rumored girlfriend Cressida Bonas were in attendance, as was Prince Michael of Kent. The newlyweds have a tie to the royal circle since Rupert dated Kate Middleton briefly while they were students at St. Andrews and he apparently remains friends with Prince William. Natasha, meanwhile, is friends with both William and Prince Harry and attended the royal wedding of Kate and William in 2011. Kate and William were reportedly invited to Rupert and Natasha's nuptials, though neither were photographed at the event. Kate is winding down her appearances as...

Five months into her pregnancy and just back from a Caribbean "babymoon" in Mustique, the Duchess of Cambridge is stepping up her work as she returns to her royal duties. Kate, 31, is set for a visit to the port of Grimsby, about 180 miles from London in north eastern England, where she will be shown the local work of one of her father-in-law Prince Charles's best known charities, the Prince's Trust. On the March 5 "away day," she will also see a local school and take in a history lesson on the local fishing industry when she tours the town's museum.

The Duchess of Cambridge will return to royal duties this week. Duchess Catherine is set to return from holidaying in Mustique with her family and start back on her charity work, visiting Action On Addiction in London, which she is a patron of. The visit will mark the start of a string of public engagements and the Duchess will also add three new charities to the list of those she represents. A Palace spokesperson told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: 'The Duchess is already patron of four charities and will add a small number to that list.' Meanwhile Catherine is also reportedly recruited friends Natasha Rufus Isaacs and Lavinia Brennan to help design her maternity wear, as her baby...

1. Prince Harry. 2. Jennifer Aniston. 3. Andrew Farkas and Carl Ichan. From PatrickMcMullan.com (1, 2); from Marion Curtis/Startracks Photo (3). Vf Daily’s picks for the top three parties around the globe last weekend. Sloanie Soirée What: A fund-raiser for Prince Harry's Sentebale charity. Where: London. Who: Princess Beatrice and her boyfriend, Dave Clark (who were standing slightly apart from everyone else), Grace Pilkington, Natasha Rufus Isaacs, Olivia Inge, and Ed Lawson Johnson. Why: Because all last week the tabloids were going wild over the potential of a Prince Harry–Chelsy Davy showdown at the event. (Turns out that a confrontation would have been anti-climatic: Harry evidently just broke up with his girlfriend, TV presenter Caroline Flack, because he's still pining for Chelsy.) Talking Point: The 100 Sloane clones. Our spy scoured the room for signs of Chelsy, but all she could see were boys in checked shirts and girls with blond hair,...
