"Slowly, many ‘voices’ came together. The journey involved multiple elements — geographical, and contemporary scenarios…" While Academy-Award winner Resul Pookutty designed the soundscapes, musicians across generations were chosen for the mega-project — Bombay Jayashri, Uday Bhawalkar, M.D. Pallavi, Aditya Srinivasan, Apoorva Krishna, Rasika Shekar, Deu Khan Manganiyar and Sumesh Narayanan.
The play was staged on February 24 at the ‘Mahindra Roots Festival’ in Mumbai, introducing the audiences to an enthralling blend of music, stagecraft and storytelling. It also delved into the musicians’ journey — from the time they decided to join their gurus, their varied experiences and their hope for the future. The festival also boasted theatre performances, folk music, classical music and poetry, contemporary Sufi, Abhangas, Bengal’s Baul music tradition, tribal music forms and immersive storytelling.
Abel, whose production ‘The Manganiyar Seduction’ was part of the recent ‘International Theatre Festival of Kerala 2023’, however feels there are hardly enough theatre festivals in the country.

Remember chartbusters like 'Zara zara' and 'Dil ko tumse pyar hua' from 'Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein'? The man behind those melodies, Harris Jayaraj, has returned to Bollywood after a decade to create music for John Abraham's upcoming film 'Force'. Unfortunately, he has failed to recreate the 'Rehna...' magic.

The season of remakes continues with Force which stars John Abraham and Genelia D’Souza in lead roles. The film’s a remake of Tamil film Kaakha Kaakha starring Surya (Rakht Charitra) and Joytika (Doli Sajake Rakhna) which was also remade in Telugu as Gharsana. While the Tamil and Telugu versions were directed by Gautum Menon, the Hindi remake is being directed by Nishikanth Kamath (Mumbai Meri Jaan). One thing that remains the same is that Harris Jayaraj (Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein) who has composed for original and the Telugu remake, has also composed and produced the music of Force. Meanwhile, Javed Akhtar has penned the lyrics.
The album is made up of 5 tracks, one of which is a bonus track composed by Lalit Sen seemingly unrelated to the movie. Surprisingly, no remixes. It features the vocal talents of Shreya Ghosal (‘Bahara’ – I Hate Luv Storys), K.K (Mere Brother Ki Dulhan...

At this point of ‘critical era’, Real Images and Aghal Films have been marking their trenchant objet d’art. Earlier in 2008, they had released ‘Margazhi Raagam’ –a first kind of concert movie.
Series of carnatic songs crooned by T.M. Krishna and Bombay Jayashree, the film gained more appreciations, especially amongst music lovers. The entire film was shot with Red One Camera.
And last evening, the concert film’s DVD was launched by Andrew T. Simkin, Us Counsel General and ace filmmaker Manirathnam. The launch took place at Café Avishta in Mylapore in the presence of music buffs.
Speaking on the occasion, Bombay Jayashree mentioned that it is a wonderful attempt by Aghal Films and Real Images.
