Who saw that coming?
Billions, you better not toy with our emotions because there is only one acceptable outcome, and it doesn't look like we are on the same page about what that is.
We'd hate to see a series finale that makes us feel how we felt towards the end of this episode.
With that out of the way, we will discuss everything that went down on Billions Season 7 Episode 11, so if you're yet to get caught up, beware of spoilers.
The episode packed a lot of surprises, from Axe's new firm to Governor Dunlop's return and her final decision. Ironically, it was one of the shortest episodes of Billions ever, having a runtime of under fifty minutes.
It had the classic Billions feel, with the story not being told chronologically to maintain that element of surprise once plays were revealed and surprised we were.

Ego keeps a lot of people afloat.
It informs their decisions and, to some extent, makes them predictable to anyone who cares to pay a little attention.
It must have come up in our Billions reviews that Mike Prince -- like any other billionaire -- suffers from the all-too-common condition among people of his stature. He suffers from inflated self-importance.
We will discuss everything that went down on Billions Season 7 Episode 6, so if you're yet to get caught up on it, beware of spoilers.
Mike prepared to confront the ruling sentiments from the electorate where he was concerned. It was a standard procedure in candidacy, but that gave the saboteurs in his midst the opportunity to try and trim him down and, if lucky, get him to quit.
To brave the tumultuous waters of politics is not an easy feat. It requires a person whose self-awareness and pride are above that of an average person.

Billionaires are a contentious issue, and most people don't get why there are any.
The issue is clear for some, but for others, especially those who reap the benefits of being close to one, they should be protected at all costs.
Some people bring up issues like world hunger, which is baffling to think about, and then on the other end, some people have more money than they will ever use in their lives and can't give a fraction of it.
It is a mind-boggling issue that we may never find a solution to. But there is another threat that many people don't consider while engaging in the discourse, and it is how easy it is for someone with such vast wealth to appear invincible.
We will dive into Billions Season 7 Episode 3 events, so if you're yet to get caught up, beware of spoilers.

A lot goes into being elected into a political office, and few can hack it. It is a huge financial burden that becomes bigger when every aspect of someone's life is scrutinized, from their career to marriage.
For a billionaire, the financial part is not a big deal because of the billionaire part. And since they tend to roll in the same circles, a billionaire is almost guaranteed support from his filthy rich friends.
Whoever said money couldn't solve all your problems must have been on to something because it can't stop your marriage from appearing like a sham to a keen observer.
We will dive into the events from Billions Season 7 Episode 2, so if you are yet to get caught on it, beware of spoilers. Otherwise, happy reading!

Billions has always explored the one percent's relationship with the rest of the world in a way most people have never considered.
It has shown how having staggering amounts of money can render some people above the law because, in a predominantly capitalistic world, those with a lot of money have a millennium's worth of a head start over others.
But most of what we saw throughout the six seasons seemed a little out of the realm of possibility since the first time we were coming alive to the facts presented was through dramatization.
It all became too real when Mike Prince's plan was revealed in the Billions Season 6 finale. It felt eerily familiar that a billionaire who overestimated himself thought he was the solution to the common person's problem and would do anything to prove it. Anything.

Meanwhile, his billionaire nemesis, Michael Prince (Corey Stoll), took advantage of the situation to acquire Axelrod’s assets below price. However, despite the setbacks, Axe has made a strong comeback with his charismatic and cutthroat demeanor still intact as he reenters the ring. Three years after teasing Amid Evil fans, developer Indefatigable and New Blood Interactive have announced that the long-awaited expansion Dlc for Amid Evil in The Black Labyrinth will be arriving next month on August 18th. The expansion will serve as a “full prequel” to the main game, and brings with it new levels, weapons and foes as you descend into the eponymous Black Labyrinth.
The premise of The Black Labyrinth is a simple affair: Defeat the keeper of the legendary “Axe of the Black Labyrinth”, which will allow anyone who retrieves the weapon to claim the title of ‘Champion’. Before that, however, the trailer demonstrates some of the other epic weapons you’ll be wielding, including a pair of spiked gauntlets to punch the bloody crap out of everything (in a subtle hint to Amid Evil‘s inspiration in Heretic), and a scythe with the ability to magically freeze enemies...

“I’m back now, and I’m wide awake,” declares Damian Lewis’ hedge fund billionaire Bobby “Axe” Axelrod in the trailer for the seventh and final season of Showtime’s Billions.
The trailer marks the return of the fan-favorite character to the finance drama, which begins its new season Friday, Aug. 11.
In season seven, Showtime says, “alliances are turned on their head … old wounds are weaponized … loyalties are tested … betrayal takes on epic proportions … enemies become wary friends.”
Lewis left Billions as the show’s co-lead after season five. Lewis will appear in six of the new season’s 12 episodes. Lewis’ departure was explained by his character going on the run from legal troubles. Co-star Corey Stoll was then upped to series regular and his character took over Axe’s company.
Lewis previously suggested he left the series when his original five-season contract was up because he was a bit weary of the role.

If you’ve been left in a gaping void by the end of Succession, don’t despair. The Hollywood Reporter has another 11 series to watch for those desperate for a dysfunctional family drama fix. The below titles (along with where you can stream them) include more epic siblings battles, snarky dinner table banter and unpredictable plot twists. Dive into these series for the thrill of family backstabbing, corporate double-dealing or simply for the maladjusted — and wealthy and/or powerful — bringing out the worst in one another, typically (except for a few aspirational exceptions).

The debates about the finale of “Succession” go on and on, and yet few have the perspective to say the obvious: From the start, this was a bad show, and a misconceived one. In a world of peak TV and oceans of post-”Sopranos” high-end work from around the world, this was an endeavor made by people not quite clear on the concept. There were no adults in the room. “Succession” was very much like what you would get if the Roy children themselves tried to do a grown-up HBO series.
Indeed, only they would think that they were worthy subjects of a TV show, just as, in “Succession’s” fictional world, they’re the only people who think they’re qualified to run an international media company. The problem is that “Succession’s” real world creators didn’t get it either.

From Michael Moreci, Nathan Gooden, Addison Duke, and Jim Campbell, Barbaric is easily one of my favorite recent comic book releases. Giving readers an action-packed and blood-filled yet humorous story that will please any fantasy fan, I'm always suggesting it to new and lifelong comic book readers alike. I'm thrilled that Vault Comics has provided us with the entire first issue of Barbaric #1 exclusively for Daily Dead readers, along with an extended preview of the first issue in the upcoming standalone spinoff series Queen of Swords!
Barbaric #1: Barbaric #1 is collected with the other two issues as part of Barbaric Vol. 1: Murderable Offenses:
"Owen The Barbarian has an axe. And he's gonna do good with it if he has to kill someone.
Owen the Barbarian has been cursed to do good with what remains of his life. His bloodthirsty weapon, Axe, has become his moral compass with a drinking problem.

Season 3 of "The Mandalorian" took Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff) to new heights and lows as she fought to unite all of the remaining Mandalorians under one cause. That's no easy task, especially given the bad blood between the old-school Mandos who never remove their masks and the more modern ones who let their skin breathe occasionally, and it's made all the more difficult because of her past interactions with her former Mandalorian crew. In episode 6, "Guns for Hire," Bo-Katan and Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal et al.) end up doing some mercenary work in order to find the Mandalorians Bo-Katan was traveling with back in season 2. Once they finally catch up with the other Mandalorians, led by Axe Woves (Simon Kassianides), they aren't exactly glad to see her. Woves is pretty upset about her losing the Darksaber, and he isn't willing to listen to her plea for the Mandalorians to unite.

It turns out a certain character who has become a not-insignificant part of the "Star Wars" universe nearly died in "The Mandalorian" season 2. And when we say nearly, the character technically did die, but the powers that be filmed another scene and decided against going with that outcome. The character in question is Axe Woves, played by Simon Kassianides in the Disney+ series.
The news was revealed by Katee Sackhoff, who plays Bo-Katan Kryze. The actor recently appeared on Kristan Harloff's YouTube channel for an interview following "The Mandalorian" season 3 finale, which featured Axe Woves. You know, since he's not dead. But Sackhoff explains that, had things gone another way, he would have been a distant, deceased memory:
"Axe, you know, we knew he was supposed to die last year. That was the thing that no one could talk about. There was this moment where he sacrifices himself in that episode.

As a child, Simon Kassianides and his family, like many, had an impressive collection of Star Wars action figures. "I was a massive Star Wars fan," the actor tells Popsugar. "I grew up with all the toys . . . [My older brother and I] had an Ewok Village, I think. But we had figures completely decimated by the time I got my hands on them - no arms, heads would be popping off and all sorts. I do remember an original Darth Vader without an arm. I just thought he was the coolest thing in the world."
Kassianides now has something even cooler: a Star Wars action figure of himself. And while we can't speak for all of the mini Axe Woveses out in the galaxy, the star's onscreen "The Mandalorian" character has his body parts intact - so far. When we first meet Axe Woves (Simon Kassianides) in season 2 of The Mandalorian, he’s working with Bo-Katan Kryze to obtain the Darksaber and unite Mandalorians under her leadership. While we don’t learn much about Axe in his debut episode, it’s clear that he and Bo-Katan have a deep respect for each other. This makes the big season 3 premiere reveal even more devastating: Axe, Koska Reeves (Mercedes Varnado), and the other Nite Owls have left Bo-Katan to become mercenaries after she failed to obtain the Darksaber from Moff Gideon.
After everything the Mandalorians have gone through with the destruction of their homeworld and near genocide of their people, it makes sense that Axe and the others would see Bo-Katan’s failure as another sign that their people are doomed to remain scattered across the galaxy. Even Bo-Katan had essentially given...

The gloves are off and the blades are drawn, as The Mandalorian season 3 just confirmed a theory that’s bugged fans for weeks. In fact, the show just tied up story threads that go all the way back to when Din Djarin defeated Moff Gideon and inadvertently claimed the Darksaber in the season 2 finale.
Much like Jon Snow not wanting to sit on the Iron Throne in Game of Thrones, Djarin has never wanted to lead the Mandalorian people and rule (what’s left) of Mandalore. There are plenty of willing candidates out there, and although the writing was on the wall since the start of season 3, it’s still great to see Bo-Katan Kryze finally step up as the new leader of these Beskar-clad warriors.

This Post Contains spoilers for this week’s episode of The Mandalorian, “The Pirate.”
Well, that was a mostly welcome change of pace.
In a broad sense, “Guns for Hire” fits the Mission of the Week mode that The Mandalorian does so well, but it does it in a couple of unusual ways. It is both as comedic as the series seems capable of (or, at least, interested in) going, and it is basically a buddy cop show, with Mando and Bo-Katan making like Lennie Briscoe and one of his many partners.

The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 6: Chapter 22
All of the momentum generated by last week’s rousing fireworks show of an episode, “The Pirate,” is unfortunately lost this week. “Guns For Hire” is an awkward, oddly paced urban detective story whose handful of bright spots are marred by a middling plot that plays out like a video game side mission, stilted exposition, and two of what are possibly the most distracting pop culture cameos one could conjure up in 2023.
The episode opens with a Quarren freight ship that’s been hunted down by Axe Woves, Koska Reeves, and the rest of the Mando mercenaries that split from Bo-Katan prior to this season’s events. The scene is meant to establish that the maskless Mandalorians are morally and ethically blurring the lines in comparison to the Tribe, with Axe being blatantly presented as an antagonist despite the fact that,...

As season 7 of Billions just got ordered by Showtime, Damian Lewis appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to announce, “Bobby’s back. Axe is back, and it’s exciting. He’s not been around for a couple of seasons.” Of course, he is referring to his character on the show, Bobby Axelrod. When the show premieres later this year, Lewis is set to appear in six of the season’s 12 episodes. In addition, Toney Goins, who plays Philip, has been promoted to a series regular.
According to Deadline, season 7 sees “alliances are turned on their heads. Old wounds are weaponized. Loyalties are tested. Betrayal takes on epic proportions. Enemies become wary friends. And Bobby “Axe” Axelrod returns, as the stakes grow from Wall Street to the world.” Along with Lewis, Billions co-stars Paul Giamatti, Corey Stoll, Maggie Siff, David Costabile, Asia Kate Dillon, Condola Rashad, Jeffrey DeMunn, Sakina Jaffrey,...

Well, this is some good news, Billions fans.
Damian Lewis has closed a deal to return to the Showtime hit for its seventh season.
Lewis confirmed the news during The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
"Bobby's back," Lewis told Colbert.
"Axe is back, and it's exciting. He's not been around for a couple of seasons."
Lewis will not be around for the entire season, however.
The actor has signed on for six of 12 episodes for Billions Season 7.
It's unclear whether he could make a more significant return in future seasons.
I think we can confidently say that Billions Season 8 is a slam dunk after Showtime announced its intention to nurture the series into a franchise.
Then again, maybe one of those spinoffs will be focused on the iconic Bobby Axelrod.
Lewis previously exited the series at the close of its fifth season following the death of his wife, Helen McCrory.

Billions fans are reacting to a surprise announcement regarding future episodes.
In October 2021, it was revealed that the show’s lead star, Damian Lewis, would leave the show after five seasons.
Lewis, who plays Bobby “Axe” Axelrod on the Showtime series, said he would “miss the Billions family”, and thanked the creators, Brian Koppelman and David Levien. He was absent from season six of the series.
The actor’s decison came after the death of his wife, Peaky Blinders star Helen McCrory, who died of cancer, aged 52, in April 2021.
Lewis, however, has announced that he will return to the show in season seven for six of its 12 episodes.
