The Amory Wars creator and Coheed and Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez has announced his new horror comic, “My Brother’s Blood Machine,” a six-issue mini-series loosely based on the album of the same name, from his solo music project, The Prize Fighter Inferno.
On “Blood Machine,” Sanchez teams up with prolific horror author Steve Niles and artist Andrew Ritchie.
“Blood Machine” is deadly, bizarre and beautiful, quirky and horrifying, hypes the press release. “Prepare yourself for a wild and bloody ride.”
In the comic, “A teenage girl desperate to escape from an abusive home. A high school misfit wrongfully accused of murder. An abominable secret waiting in the woods. Margretville is troubled, but they’ve no idea the disturbing truths looming beneath the surface of their otherwise picturesque town.”

So much heavy stuff happening in comics this week. John Constantine, the quintessential Vertigo character, has officially jumped over to DC’s regular line, with mixed results (see our review). Saga #11 is an emotional rollercoaster. The Avengers are busy trying to convince a stunned college kid that he isn’t the antichrist. X-o Manowar is on an intergalatic homocidal rampage. The majority of the Bat books are still mourning Damien Wayne. Dark Horse is full of depressed, alcoholic monster hunters; and Captain America has to cut a face out of his chest.
Suffice it to say that I really, really enjoyed my Deadpool fix this week.
And not only Deadpool, but other light-hearted gems like Mystery Society, Savage Wolverine, and even Justice League Of America. They remind me that as much as I love the brutality of Snyder’s Batman and the intensity of Dark Horse’s entire horror line,...

In an unprepossessing brick block, in an equally nondescript industrial estate on the West of London lies the factory and headquarters of Brompton Bicycles. It's tucked behind a Mercedes-Benz van depot, and I only know I'm in the right place because there are about five pretzel-shaped hunks of metal parked outside the door. Oh, and a bunch of twentysomething testers in slogan tees, bouncing around doing bunny hops and the like on recently finished Bromptons. It's like E.T., but without the alien.
A rangy guy in desert shorts and steel toe-capped work boots approaches. "Nice bike," he says over his shoulder as he walks through the front door. Later on, I learn that he says this to everyone--even the engineers working on the line. I wonder if the joke has worn a little thin. He is Will Butler-Adams, the CEO of Brompton, and the guy who has taken...
