The 2024 Grammys were not that long ago, but we’re already well into the 2025 Grammy season. With the eligibility deadline being August 30, 2024, we only have five months left to gear up our predictions and then switch focus to all the campaigning that goes along with Grammy voting. So, with a lot of the major contenders being out already, let’s see how the race looks.

In terms of hit songs, a few stand out from the rest. While songs like Jack Harlow’s “Lovin On Me,” Doja Cat’s “Agora Hills,” Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s “Carnival,” Tate McRae’s “Greedy”, and Teddy Swims’s “Lose Control” (he’d also need to submit a live version) will likely be big contenders for nominations, there are four songs that, to me at least, currently sound like possible winners.

A Powerful New Case Hits Home for Stabler on What Could Be Law & Order: Organized Crime's Final Case
Drug addiction is one of the most heartbreaking diseases in the world.
Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 Episode 9 hit all the right notes, balancing the pain and suffering many addicts feel with the chaos their behavior causes.
Even the new villain is a mixed bag, making him one of the most realistic drug dealers on TV rather than a stereotype of the evil, greedy drug kingpin.
This case is one of Stabler's most personal because of younger brother Joey's involvement with heroin.
Law & Order: Organized Crime is on the chopping block, so this could be Stabler's final case. Hopefully not, but if so, at least it's a worthwhile one.
Bernadette was Organized Crime's Mvp Again
The most emotional aspects of the hour involved the subplot about Joey's drug use, especially Joey's scenes with Bernadette.
His brothers' intervention was doomed to fail -- something Stabler really ought to have known would...

The intervention that took place in this week’s Law & Order: Organized Crime went even worse than the one that took place in the show’s first season… which is really saying something.
As the episode’s synopsis teased, Elliot and Randall confronted their younger brother, Joe Jr., about his heroin use (and possible selling) during a tense conversation during this week’s hour. In the lead-up, El shared with Randall that he suspected Joe’s drug use began in Afghanistan. And when they broke into Joe’s place, they found needles, drugs and rolls of cash. “We’ve...

This is already shaping up to be an interesting year for Best New Artist at the Grammys. The category might lack a clear frontrunner so far, as it is early in the year, but we do have some serious contenders who might pick up more steam closer to voting time this fall. Plus, an open field might make it even more interesting, unlike years where the winner was rather obvious like when Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish prevailed.
TikTok breakout Benson Boone might be positioning himself as the one to beat. He had already achieved some recognition before 2024 with his viral tracks “In the Stars” and “Ghost Town,” the latter of which charted on the Billboard Hot 100. Vampire Weekend are officially back with the announcement of their new album, Only God Was Above Us, out April 5th via Columbia Records.
Marking Vampire Weekend’s first full-length in five years, Only God Was Above Us clocks in at 10 tracks. Inspired by 20th-century New York City, the album was recorded in Manhattan, Los Angeles, London, and Tokyo, with vocalist/guitarist Ezra Koenig sharing production duties with longtime collaborator Ariel Rechtshaid. It was mixed by Dave Fridmann and mastered by Emily Lazar.
Koenig penned the majority of the lyrics to Only God Was Above Us in 2019-2020, and spent the next five years with bandmates Chris Baio and Chris Tomson fleshing out the lyrical and melodic structures. The album is described in a press release as “direct yet complex, showing the band at once at its grittiest, and also at its most beautiful and melodic.”

The Silencing Movie Review: A Gripping Resurgence & Unraveling Mysteries In The Heart Of Echo Falls!
The Silencing Movie Review Rating:
Star Cast: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Annabelle Wallis, Zahn McClarnon, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Zahn McClarnon, Melanie Scrofano
Director: Robin Pront
Producer: Cybill Lui Eppich
Writer: Micah Ranum
The Silencing Movie Review Out! (Picture Credit: IMDb)
What’s Good: Pront skillfully blends familiar tropes into a satisfying mystery horror-thriller. The film captures the wilderness through Manuel Dacosse’s cinematography, enhanced by Brooke and Will Blair’s ominous score. Coster-Waldau’s portrayal adds depth, creating a foreboding atmosphere.
What’s Bad: While the film touches on social issues, particularly in northern Minnesota, it may come off as somewhat tokenistic. Despite this, the compelling tone and eerie presence of a masked figure in mist-shrouded forests contribute to the film’s overall appeal.
Loo Break: A suitable “Loo break” in the middle of this intense narrative could be after Rayburn rescues Molly from the sanctuary and keeps her safe overnight in an unused spike trap.

Windy Wilkin’s Death on the Border is a thought-provoking movie that forces you to contemplate one of the real dangers and problems of society: child trafficking. It’s common knowledge that scores of young girls and children are trafficked every year. These young girls are forced into prostitution or are sold to high-paying clients. Death on the Border isn’t entirely fictional but draws inspiration from real events. This makes Windy Wilkin’s film all the more haunting, realizing the ordeal all those women and girls had to go through. At the beginning of the film, Maddy (Shannon Elizabeth) is picked up by a child trafficker who is smuggling young girls over the border. The trafficker tried to force himself on Maddy, but she killed him with the gun she was hiding in her boots. Maddy freed the girls and asked one of them to drive until they were safe.

And now … they celebrate!
Spirits were high Wednesday evening as SAG-AFTRA members gathered at All Season Brewing in Los Angeles to toast the union reaching a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract with studios and streamers and the end of the 118-day actors strike.
Party organizers said they chose the brewery due to its proximity to SAG-AFTRA headquarters, where just a few hours earlier the union’s negotiating committee approved the agreement in a unanimous vote.
Actors erupted in cheers when negotiating committee members, including Frances Fisher, Shari Belafonte and Avis Boone, arrived and joined the celebration after Wednesday’s vote and a marathon 10-hour session Tuesday.
Fisher, Belafonte and Boone told The Hollywood Reporter they’re “relieved” and “excited” following the end of the strike, and they shed some light on the tentative deal.

We have some bad news for fans of Chapelwaite.
The horror drama will not be returning for a second season.
Co-creator and Executive Producer Jason Filardi took to X to share the sad news.
"I'm afraid Captain Boone's story ends on that beach of weathered, Maine sand," Filardi posted.
"There will be no Season 2. Thank you to all the Chapelwaite fans!"
Chapelwaite launched in August 2021, with the development of a second season being announced shortly after.
But with a lack of updates, fans were left pondering what would become of the series.
Unfortunately, it's likely that no episodes were produced for the planned second season, and Epix becoming MGM+ likely changed the streamer's priorities away from making the new season.
Set in the 1850s, the Chapelwaite follows Captain Charles Boone (Adrien Brody), who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher's Corners,...

The Epix television show Chapelwaite was described as being a ten episode limited series that would tell the story of Stephen King’s short story Jerusalem‘s Lot, which was a prequel to his novel Salem’s Lot… but after the show’s run came to an end, it was announced that Chapelwaite season 2 was in the works. While the first season had covered the entirety of King’s story, in its own way, the second season was going to go beyond the source material to tell its own original story. But things have changed in the year and half since it appeared that Chapelwaite season 2 was a sure thing, and now showrunner Jason Filardi has taken to social media to confirm that the new season isn’t going to happen after all.

It’s tough out there for adaptations of Stephen King‘s Salem’s Lot and its prequel story “Jerusalem’s Lot.” While the Salem’s Lot remake hangs in limbo without a release date, the “Chapelwaite” showrunner announced today that season two won’t be moving forward after all, despite a renewal in 2022.

When legendary Western hatter John B. Stetson invented the first commercially manufactured cowboy hat in 1865, he probably didn’t expect it would become a major fashion accessory more than a century and a half later. And yet around the world today, cowboy hats are worn by more people than ever before, and much of the credit for their newfound popularity goes to the costume designers of “Yellowstone” and “1923,” and to the shows’ creator, Taylor Sheridan.
Award-winning costume designer Janie Bryant created the costumes for the “Yellowstone” prequels “1923” and “1883,” and she believes the timeless appeal of cowboy hats is due, in large part, to their symbolic associations. “I think it really is about the American spirit,” she says. “There’s a wildness, a pioneering spirit, and a sense of freedom that we identify with the cowboy hat. It’s iconically American, and I think people relate with it globally.”

Shailene Woodley further branched out her filmography by playing Hazel in the 2014 film Fault in Our Stars. But she felt the movie was the last film audiences would see her portraying high-school aged characters.
Shailene Woodley cried when realizing she’d never play a teenager again after doing ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ Shailene Woodley | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Shailene Woodley once made a career out of playing young characters. Projects like Secret Life of the American Teenager and The Descendants frequently saw her in the shoes of a teenager. But for the actor, The Fault in Our Stars bookmarked a shift in her career.
The feature saw Woodley and co-star Ansel Elgort playing two cancer-stricken young lovers. But when rewatching the film, Woodley realized her days of playing teenaged characters were coming to an end.
“We filmed it in August, and I saw the rough cut in December,” she once told MTV News.
