Users of Microsoft's Kinect control system have already been able to use the device to interface with their PC's. Doing so just requires a little non-ms-sanctioned hacking. A Korean developer seems to believe that things may be changing, however, and even mentioned expectations that Kinect will soon have its makers' blessing to able to go forth and work with desktop computers.
Jason Lim, a representative from the company GamePrix went as far as to confirm that his his co-workers are currently making a PC-only Mmorpg with Kinect integration, according to a report at IncGamers.
"[T]he game's support of gaming pads make it resemble console games even more, and is scheduled to support Kinect, a new control system of Xbox360," Lim wrote. He also stated that "Kinect will soon be available as a new controller" and that "there are many game companies that are trying to apply for this system."
