- One of the foremost scholars on the history of broadcasting, Lawrence W. "Larry" Lichty has had a long and distinguished career as a college teacher, researcher, and historical consultant. His research interests include news coverage of wars, documentaries, and audience ratings and analysis.
The author of books and dozens of scholarly articles on various aspects of broadcasting and broadcast history, his academic career includes stops at the University of Maryland, College Park; California State University, Long Beach: the University of Wisconsin, Madison; and most prominently at Northwestern University (1985- 2009, retired). He received his A.B.
