Zap2it: What drew you to "Building Wild"?
Paul Dimeo: I came off 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,' and there we were building homes. And the story behind 'Extreme' was always we would send our families away. They would go to Disneyland. ... And when these families would come back -- and over a decade I heard this -- the families would come back and say, 'Jeez, we really wish we were here.' And they were really, truly missing the best part of it. They're missing an entire community coming together to build them this house. They're away, so they have no idea who's doing what.
So when George (Verschoor, the show runner) and I were talking about what were some of the great things you could take away from that, well the fact that you could have your client working with us, meeting everybody and having their friends come.

A four-seat Atv shimmies, sways and weaves its way up a mountainside path, at one point nearly depositing a passenger into the sea of mud it's navigating. All on board can see their breath, a constant reminder that winter is not far off.
It's a cold, clammy, bumpy ride to the top of the former Timber Ridge Ski Resort in Windham, Vt., on this rainy late October morning, where a crew of builders is laboring mightily to finish up a project for the new National Geographic Channel series "Building Wild," premiering Tuesday, Jan. 14.
On this day, the project in question is a 400-square-foot cabin built around a 20-foot-high concrete pier that used to hold the return pulley for the ski lift. It comes outfitted with a bar and a snowboard ramp for its father/son owners, a wood stove tied into the pier to radiate heat throughout, and a makeshift...

HollywoodNews.com: ”Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” designer Paul Dimeo is philosphical about the ending of the two-time Emmy-winning reality show this week. “I certainly think that moving to Friday night gave us an indication of what was coming,” he says of their cancellation after nine years. “Trying to have some type of TV savvy and realizing that all good things come to an end, I think we were pretty prepared.”
The show winds with a two-hour special finale episode tonight, with the team in tornado-devastated Joplin, Missouri, working with 21 builders to raise seven houses in seven days. “If it has to end, so be it, but I’m just grateful this is the way we’re going to go out,” Dimeo says. “I’m honored to be a small part of this show. There are people I’m going to keep in touch with the rest of my life.

NBC and Fox have both unleashed their Fall 2011-2012 TV schedule, now ABC has released theirs. I’m excited to see Castle, Modern Family, and The Middle back in the mix. Most of the new shows they have line-up don’t really interest me, but there are a few that have caught my eye. PanAm is another 1960’s based TV show that will go against AMC’s Mad Men and NBC’s The Playboy Club. There’s a show called Revenge that sounds really interesting, but the new series I’m most excited about is is the fantasy series Once Upon A Time, a show where fairy tales collide with the modern day.
Here is ABC’s full schedule along with a description of all of their shows. Go through them below and let us know what TV series you’re most excited about seeing.

As much as I used to enjoy watching Paul Dimeo tear up on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, I’ve lost interest in the ABC show. But my hunger for over-the-top transformations has never waned, so I’m particularly giddy about the upcoming debut of Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition. No one’s starving themselves for a cash prize here: This is a show for the “super obese” who set out to “safely” lose half their body weight (ABC’s words, not mine).
Apparently, it took 365 days to shoot eight one-hour episodes for the series that’ll bow May 30. Eight people...

In today's worst-kept secret news, the internet speculation that Guillermo del Toro would be getting into the gamemaking business with Thq appears to be confirmed. MTV spoke with the director of "Pan's Labyrinth," who divulged that the first game from a three-project deal is scheduled to arrive in 2013. The Mexican helmer talks about how the first game he pitched greatly resembled Valve's "Left4Dead" zombie apocalypse first-person shooter series and also says that the games he's pitched will be "huge worlds."

Thq--which is best known for its licensed games, including the best-selling "Smackdown vs. Raw" wrestling games--currently has Danny Bilson as Vice President in charge of Core Games. In partnership with Paul Dimeo, the father of starlet Rachel Bilson has produced a slew of action shows for television, like "The Flash" and "Viper." Bilson's no stranger to video games, either, having worked on four James Bond games for EA.

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is headed to Tennessee to rebuild a school devastated by the floods in 2010 and some of country's biggest musicians are joining in to lend a hand.
ABC and the "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" team will take up shop in Nashville to rebuild the Lighthouse School that was destroyed on May 1st earlier this year after Music City was left under water. The school has been run by the Sweatt family since 2003 and quickly became national news when footage of one of the building floating down the interstate was shown.
Even throughout the destruction of their school and damage to their facility, the Sweatt family has led recovery efforts that have helped over 200 families in the area. They have provided shelter, food, water, clothing and counseling, along with financial services to help give hope to a shattered community.
