In the run-up to MipTV and MipDoc in April, Spain’s Onza Distribution has pounced on a troika of sports documentaries produced by Wakai and Prime Video Spain: “Marc Márquez: All In,” “Simeone: Living Match by Match” as well as the announced “Fc Barcelona: A New Era.”
“We’re very glad to be distributing Wakai’s sports titles, considering how close these productions are to these talented athletes,” said Béatrice Nouh, Head of Sales at Onza Distribution.
“Wakai demonstrates how committed they are with quality in their productions. And that allows us to work with prestigious titles within the international market every time,” she added.

Madrid — Greater than fiction. Viewed by an estimated 5 billion, the most watched event in TV history, and the climax of the most popular sport on earth, no achievement compares in epic terms to Argentina’s victory in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Yet soccer, as Atletico de Madrid manager Diego Simeone famously has it, is played match by match. It is won moment by moment. No doc feature to date perhaps captures the ever evolving drama of Argentina’s campaign – the flux and flow of psychological advantage, the huge emotional stakes, the roll call of protagonists, and the multiple narratives of universal resonance emerging moment by moment – than “Soccer Soul” (“Elijo Creer”), narrated by Ricardo Darín, star of Oscar-winning “The Secret in Their Eyes” and dropped by HBO Max on Jan. 11 in Argentina and the rest of Latin America.
It begins with the defining moment of the whole 2022 FIFA World Cup.

My first introduction to David Beckham was the infamous Argentina versus England round-of-16 match in the 1998 FIFA World Cup. That was my first tryst with international football, and I also became an Argentina fan just because the majority of my family were Brazil supporters, and I had to be a rebellious kid. So Beckham, as I heard, was the biggest threat to my team. Argentina won that match on penalty, but more importantly, Beckham had to leave the field in the forty-seventh minute of the game after getting a red card. The red card was a farce. Even the man who was fouled by Beckham, Argentine midfielder Diego Simeone, says so in the Netflix documentary series. The Fisher Stevens docuseries highlights the infamous incident, along with all the other significant moments of David Beckham’s life, in the span of four hour-long episodes.

David Beckham delves back into the hateful treatment he received following his infamous 1998 World Cup red card — and its impact on him — in a new Netflix documentary series pegged to the 10th anniversary of his retirement.
“This whole process has been like an emotional rollercoaster,” Beckham said of the “Beckham” series in an exclusive video interview with The Associated Press. “I’ve never talked about these certain moments in my career and in my life.”
The intimate four-part series explores Beckham’s upbringing, his courtship with his wife and his triumphs on the field, but perhaps the most difficult part was revisiting his painful sending off during England’s World Cup match against Argentina.
“I hadn’t actually watched it and I hadn’t actually watched the interviews and what people said about me after,” he said, adding that it left him “shocked and emotional.”

Madrid (Spain), Aug 7 (Ians) Giuliano Simeone, the son of Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone, will miss the entire season after suffering a double fracture in his left leg during a friendly game.
Simeone was caught from behind by Burgos defender Jose Joaquin Matos in the 86th minute of Deportivo Alaves’ friendly game against second division Burgos on Sunday, breaking his tibia and fibula in his left leg.
The incident happened just moments after he had just scored his first goal for Alaves, who he joined on loan from Atletico Madrid last week. An ambulance took the 20-year-old to the hospital and the referee suspended the game, reports Xinhua.
Alaves confirmed on Monday that Simeone will need an operation and it is unlikely he will play this season.
Matos posted a message apologising for his challenge on the young striker, who scored nine goals for Zaragoza in the second division last season.

Madrid, May 15 (Ians) Fc Barcelona clinched the La Liga title with four games left this season, thanks to a 4-2 win away against local rivals Espanyol on Sunday night.
Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring after just 10 minutes, and Alejandro Balde doubled the lead with a far-post volley nine minutes later before Lewandowski’s second of the match made it 3-0 before halftime, reports Xinhua.
Jules Kounde headed home Barca’s fourth eight minutes into the second half, and although Javi Puado pulled a goal back for Espanyol in the 73rd minute and Joselu netted a second in injury time, it was too little too late for Espanyol, who remain second from bottom of the table.
The result leaves Xavi Hernandez’s side with 84 points from 34 matches: a 14-point lead over second-place Real Madrid and 16 points more than Atletico Madrid in third.

Madrid, April 25 (Ians) Wednesday brings another nerve-wracking day of football in La Liga, with the race to qualify for Europe and avoid relegation tighter than ever.
With Pedri and Frenkie de Jong back in action, Fc Barcelona travel to Vallecas to defend their 11-point lead at the top of the table away to Rayo Vallecano.
After overcoming Atletico Madrid on Sunday, Barca will be confident, although Rayo can always be expected to play aggressively in front of their home fans.
Atletico Madrid’s defeat away to Barcelona was a setback to their chances of finishing second in the table, and Diego Simeone will be without midfielders Koke and Marcos Llorente for their home game against Mallorca, a Xinhua report said.
Mallorca secured their place in the elite for next season with a 3-1 win over Getafe at the weekend, and Wednesday could be a favorable moment to face Javier Aguirre’s side.

Madrid (Spain), April 20 (Ians) Matchday 30 in Spain sees some vital head-to-head duels in the fight to avoid relegation in La Liga and one huge game in the race for the title.
Although Fc Barcelona hold an 11-point lead at the top of the table that looks unassailable with just nine games left to play, Xavi Hernandez’s side has disappointed in recent weeks.
Last weekend’s 0-0 draw in Getafe marked Barca’s third consecutive game without scoring a goal, and they are clearly missing Pedri, Dembele, De Jong, and Andreas Christensen.
Atletico Madrid’s visit to Camp Nou should be Barcelona’s toughest test between now and the end of the campaign, with Atletico travelling on the back of a run of 10 wins from 12 matches that have all but confirmed they will finish at least third.

Madrid, April 13 (Ians) The race for the La Liga title and to qualify for Europe, as well as the struggle to avoid relegation, go head-to-head in some of the key games in Spain this weekend.
League leaders Fc Barcelona travel to Getafe on Sunday afternoon after being held 0-0 at home to Girona on Monday. Barca were clearly handicapped by the absence of Pedri, Ousmane Dembele, Frenkie de Jong, and Andreas Christensen in that game, and none of the quartet are likely to be in condition to start in the south of Madrid.
Getafe disappointed in San Sebastian last weekend, but their 2-0 defeat in the Reale Arena was their only defeat in the last five matches, and any side with Enes Unal, Borja Mayoral, and former Barca striker Munir in attack has to be taken very seriously, reports Xinhua.

Madrid (Spain), March 20 (Ians) Franck Kessie’s 92nd-minute goal gave Fc Barcelona a 2-1 win over Real Madrid at Camp Nou Stadium on Sunday night to give Xavi Hernandez’s side a 12-point lead over their nearest rivals as we go into the international break.
Here are some things we learned as La Liga prepares for a week off.
1. Barca are champion-elect
The way the Barcelona players celebrated after beating Real Madrid in Camp Nou on Sunday night made it clear the win had all but assured them the La Liga title, and it’s hard to disagree, reports Xinhua.

Madrid, March 6 (Ians) Fc Barcelona defeated Valencia 1-0 to move nine points clear at the top of La Liga after Real Madrid drew 0-0 away to Betis.
Raphinha’s flicked header from Sergio Busquets’ pass in the 15th minute was enough to give Barca all three points for another below-par performance, reports Xinhua news agency.
Ferran Torres hit a 54th-minute penalty against the woodwork against his former club, and Ansu Fati also hit the post as Barca looked to double their lead before Ronald Araujo was sent off for a direct red card in the 59th minute after bringing down Hugo Duro when he was clean through on goal.
Valencia were unlucky not to get a penalty five minutes from time when Franck Kessie looked to have fouled Fran Perez on the edge of the Barca area, only for the referee to give a corner.

Madrid, March 5 (Ians) Atletico Madrid thrashed Sevilla 6-1 to move into third place in La Liga above Real Sociedad on Saturday night.
The game saw Diego Simeone overtake Luis Aragones as the coach who has sat in the Atletico dugout for most matches in the club’s history and the players gave the Argentinean an appropriate homage in his 613th match.
Memphis Depay scored twice in the 23rd and 26th minute to put Atletico 2-0 up, before Youssef En-Nesyri gave Sevilla hope in the 39th minute, a Xinhua report said.
Those hopes were quickly banished as Antoine Griezmann netted Atletico’s third in the 53rd minute, before Yannick Carrasco added a fourth in the 69th minute.
Substitute Alvaro Morata then rounded off the route with goals in the 76th and 92nd minute to once again leave Sevilla deep in a battle against relegation.

New Delhi, Feb 21 (Ians) As the Atletico de Madrid fans left the Estadio Civitas Metropolitano on Sunday night, it felt just like old times.
They’d just seen their team win 1-0 against Athletic Club, thanks to an Antoine Griezmann strike and thanks to a solid defensive performance that allowed Los Colchoneros to collect yet another clean sheet.
Since the World Cup, Atleti have earned five clean sheets from eight Laliga Santander matches, with Jan Oblak conceding just three league goals overall since the return of club football. That defensive improvement has brought the capital city club points, as they have won five matches, drawn two and lost just one, to leaders Fc Barcelona, since the World Cup. That works out at a total of 17 points from eight games, with only Barça having taken more in this period.

New Delhi, Feb 2 (Ians) After the closing of the winter transfer window brought an end to a frantic month for all clubs in Laliga Santander, a look at some of the most interesting new faces in Spanish football.
Memphis Depay to Atletico de Madrid
Things are beginning to come together for Atletico de Madrid after a stop-start season, but one thing remains clear: they need to score more goals. Step forward Memphis Depay, who became a permanent signing from Fc Barcelona this month. He’ll bring goals, power and pace to lift Los Rojiblancos’ hopes of securing a top-four finish. Memphis can play up front or as a wide forward and can add some variance to Atleti’s attack. The win comes after they scraped past Real Sociedad 1-0 in the Copa del Rey and only beat Getafe 1-0 in La Liga. Although Robert Lewandowski played in the cup game, he missed the league match against Getafe and a 1-0 win against Atletico Madrid earlier this month, reports the news agency Xinhua.

Madrid, Jan 16 (Ians) Real Sociedad consolidated their position in third place in La Liga with a 3-1 win over Athletic Club Bilbao.
The Basque derby was played in a great atmosphere in the Anoeta Stadium, with the home side causing Athletic a lot of problems with their high pressure, reports Xinhua news agency.
The pressure produced the first goal as Athletic failed to clear an attack and the ball fell kindly to Alexander Sorloth to control and score inside the area in the 24th minute.
Take Kubo doubled Real Sociedad’s lead before halftime after Mikel Vesga had been robbed trying to play the ball out of defense.
Oihan Sancet pulled a goal back for Athletic before halftime, but the game was over as a contest on the hour after the referee gifted Real Sociedad a penalty and harshly sent off Athletic defender Yeray Alvarez for the slightest of touches on Kubo.

Madrid (Spain), Jan 13 (Ians) Fc Barcelona and Real Madrid are absent from La Liga matches this weekend as they compete in the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia. Nevertheless, there is still plenty of action as Spain’s top flight moves onto its 17th round of matches.
Here are some things to look out for in the coming days:
1. A big Basque derby
This season’s first Basque derby between Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao sees the two sides challenging for a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League, with Real Sociedad also looking like the only team able to get near Barca and Madrid in the race for the league’s title.
Imanol Alguacil’s team go into the match in excellent form, with six wins in all competitions, and the connection between Brais Mendez and Alexander Sorloth in attack working to perfection.

Madrid, Jan 11 (Ians) Atletico Madrid and Chelsea have both confirmed the agreement for Atletico’s 23-year-old Portuguese international forward Joao Felix to play on loan with Chelsea until the end of the season.
The loan is thought to be costing Chelsea around 11 million euros and the club do not have the option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.
Indeed, Atletico showed their commitment to the forward by extending his contract until the end of June 2027.
“From Atletico Madrid, we wish success to Joan Felix in this new professional era,” informed Atletico social media, highlighting that since his arrival in the summer of 2019, Felix has scored 34 goals in 131 appearances, while providing 18 assists.
His arrival will give more options to Chelsea in attack after a poor run of form has seen the side coached by Graham Potter drop into mid-table and be knocked out of the Fa Cup,...

Madrid, Jan 6 (Ians) Matchday 16 in La Liga comes after an intense week of Copa del Rey action, which will have given some sides confidence while leaving others with a few things to think about.
Here are the four things to look out for in Spain this weekend:
Problems For Barca Against Atletico Madrid
Although the return of defender Ronald Araujo after injury was good news for Barca coach Xavi Hernandez, that was Xavi’s only reason to be cheerful ahead of Sunday’s visit to play Atletico Madrid.
Barca needed extra time to get past the third tier, Cf Intercity in midweek and after Araujo was taken off, they looked weak at the back. They also missed chances without Robert Lewandowski leading the line, with both Ferran Torres and Memphis Depay misfiring.
That’s important as Lewandowski is suspended for the Atletico game along with Jordi Alba and they are...

Madrid (Spain), Dec 30 (Ians) Atletico Madrid moved back into the top four in La Liga with a 2-0 win at home to bottom-of-the-table Elche as they returned to action after the five-week World Cup break.
Goals from Joao Felix and Alvaro Morata gave Atletico three points against a rival that has not won all season with just four points but who gave Diego Simeone’s side plenty of problems on Thursday night.
Elche were looking comfortable in the first half until the last minute when Gonzalo Verdu was shown a direct red card for bringing down Morata on the edge of the area, with the Var advising that he had frustrated a clear scoring chance.
Things were evened up seven minutes after the break when Mario Hermoso was sent off for a second yellow card, but in the 55th minute, Antoine Griezmann and Joao Felix combined for the latter to score a simple finish.

Madrid, Dec 29 (Ians) The Spanish La Liga returns to action on Thursday after a six-week break for the FIFA World Cup. Here are some things to look out for in the coming days.
1. How will Barca do after World Cup efforts?
No club provided more players to the World Cup than Barcelona, who had 17 players in Qatar, with Ousmane Dembele and Jules Kounde playing in the final with France. While most teams were able to enjoy a mid-season break, most of Barca’s squad were hard at work and the lack of first-team members in Spain also complicated Xavi Hernandez’s job of organising training sessions.
The effects of tiredness may not be felt straight away as Barca visit local rivals Espanyol, but they could affect Barca’s form in the coming months.
Meanwhile, the club will be without Robert Lewandowski against Espanyol due to suspension but could have central...

New Delhi, Dec 28 (Ians) Following the seven-week pause for the 2022 World Cup, Laliga Santander finally resumes this week as Matchday 15 takes place across Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
According to information received here, all 20 top-flight teams will be in action over the course of these three days and there are several regional rivalries, including the Barcelona Derby between Fc Barcelona and Rcd Espanyol.
The very first fixture after the hiatus is Girona Fc vs Rayo Vallecano on Thursday, and it should be a fun one as these are two teams whose matches this season have produced a lot of goals. For the home side’s coach Míchel, it’ll be an extra special game as he’ll go up against his former club.
Later on Thursday evening, Real Betis and Athletic Club will face off in what should be an extra competitive match, considering both teams entered the break on 24 points.

Madrid (Spain), Nov 11 (Ians) The majority of Spain’s La Liga clubs make their debut in the Copa del Rey knockout tournament this weekend, although at first view there don’t appear to be many chances of a ‘giant-killing’ act.
Real Madrid, Fc Barcelona, Valencia, and Cup holders Betis are all exempt from this and the next round as they will play the Super Cup in Saudi Arabia in January, but sides such as Atletico Madrid, Real Sociedad and Athletic Club Bilbao are all in action.
The complicated system for the draw in Spain means that 10 top-flight sides will meet teams from the ‘Preferente’ category, which is effectively the sixth tier of the Spanish game.
The difference in skill and fitness means that sides such as Osasuna, Valladolid, Mallorca and even Elche, who have yet to win a league match this season, should have few problems in moving into the...

Madrid, Nov 7 (Ians) Atletico Madrid’s poor week continued late on Sunday when they were held to a 1-1 draw in the Metropolitano Stadium by Espanyol, despite the visitors playing for over an hour with 10 men.
Leandro Cabrera was slightly unlucky to be shown a direct red card after being adjudged to have committed a professional foul on Alvaro Morata in the 28th minute, but Atletico were unable to take advantage and were booed off at halftime.
Things got even worse for Diego Simeone’s men in the 62nd minute when Sergi Darder put Espanyol in front after good work from Joselu, but Joao Felix saved a point with a powerful volley with 12 minutes remaining, reports Xinhua.
Real Sociedad were also reduced to 10 men early in their 1-1 draw at home to Valencia when Aritz Elustondo caught Samuel Lino with a full set of studs.

Madrid, Oct 25 (Ians) Fc Barcelona have a vital UEFA Champions League game at home against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
Barca are in third place in Group C, three points behind Inter Milan, but if Inter win their home match against Viktoria Plzen in a game that kicks off two hours before Barca’s game at the Camp Nou, Barca can’t finish second, having lost 1-0 in Milan before drawing 3-3 at home against Inter a fortnight ago.
That means that, for the moment, they have to prepare for Wednesday’s match as if there is everything to play for, but when the game begins, all that could be at stake is a place in the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League.
“There is a minimum amount of hope,” commented Barca midfielder Pedri in Spanish sports paper Marca.

Madrid, Oct 24 (Ians) Real Madrid continued to steamroller over their rivals, while Barcelona claimed a convincing win over Athletic Club Bilbao in Matchday 11 in La Liga. Here are some things we learned this weekend in Spain.
No Change As Real Madrid Roll Past Sevilla
Federico Valverde scored another powerful shot to round off Real Madrid’s 3-1 win at home to Sevilla, which was more comfortable than the final score suggested.
Only for a brief while after Erik Lamela’s 53rd-minute equaliser did the game threaten to escape Carlo Ancelotti’s men and once they recovered their balance, there was never the feeling they would not win the game.
There is a total belief in this Real Madrid side that they have the talent and the energy to beat their rivals and currently, nobody epitomizes that more than Valverde, who once again was a ball of non-stop energy, and who...

Madrid, Oct 18 (Ians) There is no respite in La Liga this week as Spain’s top-flight clubs move quickly into a round of midweek fixtures on Matchday 10.
The first game will be played on Tuesday night when Sevilla, who appears to be improving since the arrival of Jorge Sampaoli, entertain Valencia.
Valencia are a much more attacking side with Gennaro Gattuso in their dugout and this promises to be an end-to-end affair with plenty of chances, reports Xinhua.
Valencia were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Elche on Saturday, while Sevilla won away in Mallorca, thanks partly to an exceptional display from goalkeeper Bono.
Athletic Club Bilbao aim to recover from their slightly unfortunate home defeat to Atletico Madrid in their visit to Getafe.
Central defender Yeray Alvarez will miss out with a slight muscle problem, with Dani Vivian replacing him, while Ander Herrera is likely to start...

Madrid, Oct 14 (Ians) The ‘Clasico’ between Real Madrid and Fc Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday night is the big game of Matchday 9 in La Liga, but there are other things to keep an eye out for as well this weekend in Spain.
1. Real Madrid to twist the knife against Barca?
It has not been a good week for Barcelona after the wildly entertaining but ultimately disastrous 3-3 draw at home to Inter Milan left them needing a miracle to avoid an early exit from the Champions League for the second year running.
Real Madrid look well-placed to rub salt into the wounds, given that Carlo Ancelotti’s men are already assured of their place in the last 16 of the competition, and apart from questions over Thibaut Courtois, they will have everyone available, reports Xinhua.

Madrid, Oct 11 (Ians) Atletico Madrid on Monday confirmed that Antoine Griezmann has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2026.
The news comes just two days after Atletico and Fc Barcelona reached an agreement to resolve the complicated loan agreement that would have meant Griezmann spending this season on loan at Atletico (after being on loan as well last campaign).
Atletico would then have been obliged to make the move permanent for 40 million euros if Griezmann played 45 minutes or more in 50 per cent of this season’s matches, reports Xinhua.
However, in what looked like a clear attempt to avoid having to pay that much money, Atletico had used Griezmann almost exclusively as a substitute for the last half hour of matches and Barca were forced to give way, completing a sale for 20 million euros.
Griezmann has so far made 304 appearances for Atletico Madrid, scoring 144 goals...

Madrid, Oct 3 (Ians) Spanish giants Fc Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have vital Champions League matches away from home on Tuesday night.
Barcelona visit Inter Milan and need to avoid defeat following their 2-1 loss away to Bayern Munich in their previous group game.
That defeat means another loss in Milan would suddenly leave Xavi Hernandez’s side with a lot of work to do to reach the last 16 of the competition, and Barca’s delicate financial situation means they cannot afford to miss out on the knockout stages.
Xavi still has a long list of injuries to contend with, as Ronald Araujo, Hector Bellerin and Memphis Depay all miss out again, but Frenkie de Jong may be able to play, while Sergi Roberto and Eric Garcia are also likely to come into the side. Gavi will also play after suffering a minor injury scare in Saturday’s 1-0 win in Mallorca,...

Madrid (Spain), Sep 30 (Ians) The seventh round of matches in La Liga comes after the international break caused problems for some players and put others into the spotlight.

Madrid (Spain), Sep 16 (Ians) The sixth round of games in La Liga comes just before the first international break of the season and sees the Madrid derby as well as three coaches in danger of losing their jobs.
Here are some things to look out for this weekend in Spain:
1. Will Diego Simeone gets his way with Antoine Griezmann in Madrid derby
Atletico Madrid’s agreement with Fc Barcelona for the loan of Griezmann means that if the striker plays 45 minutes or more in 14 games this campaign, Atletico will have to pay 40 million euros. Obviously, the club wants to avoid doing that is attempting to re-negotiate — something cash-strapped Barca doesn’t want to do.
The solution to the problem so far this season has been for Griezmann to come on as a second-half substitute with around 30 minutes left to play, but coach Simeone looks to be losing his patience with...

Madrid, Sep 16 (Ians) The first Madrid derby of the 2022/23 season arrives at a crucial moment in the campaign. After five rounds of action, defending Laliga champions Real Madrid have won every game so far and have 15 points to their name, whereas Atletico de Madrid have 10 points after playing out three wins, one draw and one defeat so far.
Diego Simeone knows the team can’t afford to slip any further behind their city rivals, so they’ll give their all when the ball gets rolling at 3:00 Pm (Et) on Sunday.
Not only will Atletico set out to close the gap to Real Madrid, but they’ll also hope to be the ones to end Real Madrid’s winning run. Los Blancos have won the first five fixtures of a new league season for the first time since 2009/10 and have looked unstoppable, picking up where they left off last season.

Madrid (Spain), Sep 15 (Ians) The last round of matches in La Liga before the international break is starting to look vital for three top-flight coaches, while the Madrid Derby is the highlight of the weekend.
Real Madrid visit Atletico Madrid with a 100 percent record in both La Liga and the Champions League after their hard-fought victory against Rb Leipzig on Wednesday.
The big questions ahead of the match are whether Karim Benzema will have recovered from the muscle injury which saw him sit out the Leipzig game and last weekend’s win at home to Mallorca, while Atletico fans are wondering if it is time to change the policy towards Antoine Griezmann.
Atletico’s loan agreement with Barcelona for the French striker means they have to pay 40 million euros at the end of the season if Griezmann plays more than 45 minutes in a certain percentage of matches.

Madrid, Sep 12 (Ians) Fc Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski faces a rapid return to his former club Bayern Munich in a key Champions League tie on Tuesday night.
Lewandowski scored a hat-trick in his Champions League debut for Barca at home to Viktoria Plzen last week, but Bayern will be much tougher opponents as they look to continue their recent positive results against Barca.
The 8-2 defeat that Bayern inflicted on Barca in August 2020 was traumatic for the Catalan club, as were two 3-0 losses in the group stage last season, which went away to ensuring that Barca failed to qualify for the knockout stage of the competition.
After a summer of big spending, it’s vital for Barca to make it out of the group this time, and a win in Munich would be a huge step towards assuring that.

Prime Video had big plans for its original programming in 2020, with several major scripted projects leaving development and going into production. As was the case in most of the world, however, Covid-19 threw a wrench in the streamer’s plans and forced the company to focus its efforts in other areas for a time, notably in sports documentaries and unscripted series.
Now, with best practices established for safe shooting and work back in full swing, the streamer has big plans for its 2022 scripted content lineup and beyond, outlined at an in-person presentation in Madrid last week.
After the presentation, Maria José Rodríguez, Amazon Studios’ head of Spanish Originals, and Koro Castellano, director of Prime Video España, met with Variety to discuss what sets Prime Video apart from other streamers, creating diversity on both sides of the camera and the various initiatives that will direct the company’s activities over the coming years.

Madrid, May 25 (Ians) Luis Suarez has slammed Ronald Koeman for lacking personality and also hit out at former Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu after winning La Liga with Atletico Madrid.
The 34-year-old striker was controversially allowed to leave Barca for domestic rivals Atletico after six successful seasons at Camp Nou.
Suarez responded by firing in 21 goals in 32 league matches for Atletico, including two in their final two matches in priceless wins against Osasuna and Real Valladolid, reports Dpa.
The Uruguay forward has regularly discussed how hurt he was by his Barca departure and looked at it from a fresh angle after showing his emotion when Atletico got over the line to claim league glory.
"I will always be grateful to Barcelona and I'm never going to go against Barcelona, they have given me everything and allowed me to get to the elite," Suarez said.
