Six-time Oscar nominee Jim Sheridan is to make his documentary series debut with “Murder at the Cottage: The Search for Justice for Sophie.”
The five-part series examines the murder of television producer Sophie Toscan du Plantier in West Cork, Ireland in 1996.
In 1996, two days before Christmas, Sophie, the wife of French filmmaker Daniel Toscan du Plantier, was murdered at her holiday cottage in Schull, West Cork. The murder rocked the quiet, Irish town and 24 years later, the case remains a mystery. The key suspect, English journalist Ian Bailey – the first reporter on the scene – was quickly arrested by local police following eye-witness reports, yet was never found guilty in Ireland, owing to a lack of reliable evidence. Despite this, Bailey was found guilty in absentia by the French courts in 2019 and sentenced to 25 years in prison. Having successfully fought repeated extradition requests from the French authorities, Bailey still resides in...

After nine eventful series, ITV's Dancing on Ice finally hangs up its skates this Sunday (March 9).
Since its launch on January 14, 2006, the show has given us some truly memorable comedic moments - with Todd Carty's stumble off the rink in series four certainly springing to mind.
As ITV prepares to broadcast the last televised Bolero performance from Olympian duo Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean and crown its final pair of winners, we present ten facts about Dancing on Ice in celebration of all things icy and sparkly.
1. Since 2006, Torvill and Dean have taught an incredible 111 different celebrities, comprising a total of 700 choreographed routines and a staggering 260 days on the ice. This all amounts to a grand total of 3,432 hours spent coaching. Somebody give them another medal!

It's alright - we can all breathe a sigh of relief. The Jump is over, though sadly we cannot say that no celebrities were harmed in the making of this show. Because lots were. Lots and lots and lots.
When Digital Spy visited the set of Channel 4's luminary-lashing reality series just before Christmas - as the stars were in their first days of ski jump training - we made a joke on the plane about the broadcaster needing to have a lot of insurance. Looking back, that was either prescient or just in really bad taste.
Let's look at the numbers. Tara Palmer-Tomkinson pulled out before the show began, apparently because it "wasn't for her". That may have been one of the best decisions Tpt has ever made, ever, because shortly afterwards, and before one second had even aired on television, Sam Jones (Flash Gordon!) was forced to withdraw after injuring his shoulder.

But he told us all about his journey, getting roped into the show while on holiday, what he's going to do with his cowbell and why he feared for his life on the series. I hope everyone has managed to contain their enthusiasm this week. I hope the weight of expectation hasn’t proven too heavy as you went about your week safe in the knowledge that this weekend, after all the waiting, after the weeks, nay months of expectation, the comedy double bill of the century was finally upon us.
Yes folks, it’s finally here, that weekend you had circled in your diary since before you can remember, it’s the weekend where both Keith Lemon: The Film and The Three Stooges are released into the world.
I imagine my rather poor attempt at cynical humour there wasn’t lost on anyone, but perhaps I shouldn’t be so quick to judge. One should never judge a cinematic book by its cover and these two movies could both be comedy gold for all we know. In the words of Principal Seymour Skinner…...

Donal MacIntyre says crime is a part of life for British kids. The investigative journalist believes children growing up on some of Britain's council estates think of crimes such as joyriding and car theft are par for the course in day-to-day life. Discussing his new programme 'At Home with the Noonans' about the notorious Manchester crime family, he said: ''Kids are never too far removed from that whole gang essence- it's in the air, it's in the ether, in the discussions, the conversations - who to avoid, who not to avoid. ''Stealing cars isn't regarded by those kids as a serious crime.

Donal MacIntyre does have some ''respect'' for notorious criminal Dominic Noonan The investigative journalist has created a documentary about his family 'At Home with the Noonans' and although he admits he abhors some of the crimes he has committed - including torture and kidnap - he believes there is more to him. He said: ''I respect the parts of him that represent good values and the good things he does, and he knows clearly I disrespect and abhor all those crimes that he does. But I'm looking at him as an observer, I don't look at him in terms of a moral...

A wintry edition of Celebrity Come Dine With Me sees six-times married former newsreader Jan Leeming in an intriguing battle with former Eastender and life-long bachelor Dave “Keith” Spinx, the ultimate undercover reporter Donal McIntyre and Eurovision popstress turned R & B diva, Javine.
Over four very different dinner parties there’s love, lust, nudity, tears and a fancy dress disco before one of them walks away with the ?1000 charity prize.
Kicking off the week is Donal ‘tough nut’ McIntyre, whose friends won’t come to dinner in case “a bullet meant for me hits them!” That should reassure his celebrity guests…. Unfortunately this means Donal is not the most experienced host and his last minute decision to serve ox cheek instead of braised beef may be one he lives to regret.
Still, at least 68-year-old Jan’s there to divert attention away from the food with talk of her recent nude photo shoot…...
