The Performer | Alicia Witt
The Show | The Walking Dead
The Episode | “The Same Boat” (March 13, 2016)
The Performance | Since Paula wasn’t going to live through “The Same Boat,” Witt, who played Carol and Maggie’s captor, didn’t have a moment to waste. She had to make sure right from the start that we felt like we knew Negan’s henchwoman. So, in her first scene, the actress tempered Paula’s contempt for her hostages with a confidence that was chilling to behold, creating in the process a character that we not only recognized, we feared.

The Barrow Group and the Theatre Communications Group are teaming up to bring acting coach and theater educator Seth Barrish and actor-comedian Mike Birbiglia together for their In Conversation series in New York City. Barrish will be giving acting tips, as well as speaking about his book, “The Actors Companion.” Released through Tcg, the companion includes a foreword from Anne Hathaway and positive commentary from actors like Sakina Jaffrey, Birbiglia, and Alison Wright (“How I Met Your Mother”). The book is designed to “encourage spontaneity; foster entertaining, human, and compelling behavior; help you to become more sensitive, imaginative, responsive, and alive onstage; change your work effortlessly and invisibly (so the audience won’t detect any effort on your part and therefore will feel like they are watching a real person rather than an actor ‘working’),” according to the Barrow Group website. Set to take place June 23 at the Barrow Group (312 W.

“We’re screwed” – Stan Beeman.
Never has there been a more ominous portent uttered by anyone on any show than this declaritive statement which, rather fittingly comes at the end of a big confession scene in which one man holding a deep personal secret shares said secret with another man he considers a close friend. But the dramatic irony of it all is that, the person in question, Philip, the man acting as confidant is sharing the deepest, darkest secret of all, one that would send Stan Beeman spiraling into violence, something that we’ve seen him capable of doing very, very well.
Stan’s confession of his affair with Nina (which as we see later Philip and Elizabeth knew a whole lot about), comes at a particularly rocky time in his marraige and career. He loses...

The personal and the professional have a way of merging for the Reagans of "Blue Bloods."
Such was the case again in "Lost and Found," Friday's (Oct. 25) episode of the CBS police drama written by co-executive producer Daniel Truly. Frank (Tom Selleck) was alarmed to learn Father Markhum (Frank Wood, "The Newsroom"), the NYPD's chaplain, had been stopped for driving while intoxicated ... "the fourth time in two months," police chief Dino (John Ventimiglia) revealed.
The clergyman had rear-ended another car, and Frank worried that intervening would appear to be favored treatment -- something the arresting officer already had furnished by letting the priest sleep off his condition. And Frank realized such handling was "the reason I never heard about the other three Dwi's."
Later, Frank entered a confessional to talk to the chaplain, and told him to turn himself in: "Even priests do penance, Jerry."
