It’s time for another episode of the Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? video series, and with this one we’re looking at Scream 4 (watch it Here), the one entry in the Scream franchise that had a surprising lack of success at the box office. The audience didn’t come back for this one, which was released eleven years after the previous film, but did return for the more recent sequels. To hear all about Scream 4 and its bad luck, check out the video embedded above.
Directed by Wes Craven from a screenplay by Kevin Williamson – which received uncredited rewrites from Ehren Kruger and Paul Harris Boardman – Scream 4 has the following synopsis: It has been many years since the Ghostface Killer cut a deadly path through the town of Woodsboro. In order to get over the trauma of those horrific events, Sidney Prescott has written a self-help book.

If you love Hallmark Channel movies and soap operas, chances are you’ve noticed a few familiar faces on the feel-good network. It’s not unusual for soap stars to make the jump to Hallmark flicks, including these seven Bold and The Beautiful cast members who’ve also appeared in Hallmark movies.

Emmy-winning writer-producer Jason Katims said casting Connie Britton in his latest project for Apple TV+ came to him on “instinct,” with “Dear Edward” marking a reunion between him and the star of “Friday Night Lights,” on which he wrote and executive produced.
“I always wanted to work together again,” Katims, who developed “Dear Edward” for television, said at the 2023 Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour for Apple TV+. “But I wanted to wait until I felt like I had a role to bring to her that was going to be something that I just had this instinct that she would connect with this woman.”

Hallmark Christmas movies remain as cozy as ever, with tree-lighting, cookie-decorating and magical snowfall still the currency of the realm. But since the arrival of Wonya Lucas as the new CEO of Hallmark Media (formerly Crown Media) in 2020, the network’s offerings have branched out in many ways: Lots more diversity, of course — including, this year, Hallmark’s first holiday romance centered on a same-sex relationship and the network’s first film focused on Kwanzaa — but also new and different plots.
The memes show no sign of dying, but the movies themselves don’t always match the traditional roadmap. Two of this year’s new movies didn’t end with a kiss, a change previously unthinkable in Hallmark-land.
How do I know all this? Because I watched all 43 new 2022 Hallmark holiday movies (including the three that premiered in July on Hallmark Channel and the nine that premiered on Hallmark Movies...

Released eleven years ago, Scream 4 (watch it Here) was the last entry in the Scream franchise from director Wes Craven. We’ve heard some interesting stories about ideas that didn’t make it into Scream 4, like the fact that one version of the opening sequence would have had heroine Sidney Prescott killing a Ghostface slasher right at the start and that Kristen Stewart was asked to participate in the opening sequence that we see in the finished film. Now, during an interview with Hits Radio, Aubrey Plaza revealed that she auditioned for Scream 4 and messed up by getting too into the idea that she could play the killer.
Plaza explained, “One of the earlier auditions I had was for Wes Craven, for the Scream remake or something. They had told me, ‘You’re going in to audition to play a character that eventually you find out is the killer.

"Time passes and suddenly you realize, 'this is it.'" Vertical Entertainment has revealed an official trailer for an indie film titled The Road to Galena, which will be out to watch starting this July. The film is another of these "what if you had everything, but you still felt something was missing?" kind of existential dramas. Power lawyer Cole Baird has all the trappings of success, but behind the façade, he’s crippled by a career he never wanted and a dream left behind. He now has a choice to make: continue a life of emptiness or follow the path to happiness back to his small, rural hometown. "A touching story of one man's quiet desperation giving way to fulfillment; a story that motivates us to travel our own roads toward a more meaningful life." The film stars Ben Winchell as Cole, Will Brittain, Jay O. Sanders, Jill Hennessy,...

Heart of the Matter premieres on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries this weekend.
Starring Aimee Teegarden and Gail O'Grady, it's a story about a young woman at the start of a successful career who makes a fatal mistake.
It's not the kind of movie we're used to seeing on the network. It's deep and emotional and nuanced, navigating trauma and its aftermath.
We had the opportunity to chat with Aimee about her role in the movie, and she eloquently shared her thoughts about being a part of Heart of the Matter.
You have been in quite a few Hallmark movies by now. But Hallmark is blazing these new trails with their programming. My Family Christmas Tree, in which you starred, was very different with a deeply emotional story, and now you've got Heart of the Matter. Why did you think this one was for you?

Hallmark Christmas Movies & The Strategy Behind All Those Talent Deals Under Lisa Hamilton Daly: Q&a
Exclusive: Increased competition in the Christmas movie business has prompted Crown Media Family Networks to adopt a more aggressive strategy under the fresh leadership of Executive VP Lisa Hamilton Daly — locking in beloved actors with exclusive, multi-picture deals. The latest to join the Hallmark repertory is Ryan Paevey, a General Hospital alum who’s already starred in flicks like Unleashing Mr. Darcy and Harvest Love. He’s set to headline the upcoming “Two Tickets to Paradise” for Hallmark in June.
“Ryan is a consummate professional who always brings a special spark to the characters he plays, making him a favorite among our viewers,” said Daly. “We’re excited to extend our partnership with Ryan and can’t wait to get started on his next project for us.”

"Just get rid of the guy." Lionsgate has released a trailer for a comedy titled Guest House, the latest from actor / filmmaker Sam Maccarone. This looks as stupid as they come, which should surprise no one. A newly engaged couple finally finds the home of their dreams, but it all quickly becomes a nightmare when the previous owner's friend continues squatting in their guest house. It soon leads to a turf war that ultimately ruins their house, their marriage and their lives. Starring Pauly Shore, Mike Castle, Aimee Teegarden, Billy Zane, Steve-o, Charlotte McKinney, Erik Griffin, Felipe Esparza, and Bobby Lee. With this cast, and with this redundant "outrageous, raunchy comedy" concept, this movie is straight out of the 90s – and belongs there. It looks like Jackass meets Neighbors, but much dumber than both of those. Have fun... Here's the first red band trailer (+ green band / poster) for Sam Macaroni's Guest House,...

Lionsgate has launched a new trailer for the outrageous comedy ‘Guest House’.
Paul Shore and Steve-o kick this outrageous, raunchy comedy into high gear. When engaged couple Sarah (Aimee Teegarden) and Blake (Mike Castle) buy their dream home, there’s a catch: a party animal named Randy (Shore) in the guest house who refuses to leave! When Randy throws a wild, sexy pool party, the cops show up — and Blake gets arrested. Can he and Sarah get through their backyard wedding without a certain loser crashing the party…and ruining their marriage?
Directed by Sam Macaroni, the film stars Pauly Shore, Mike Castle, Aimee Teegarden, Billy Zane, Steve-o, Charlotte McKinney, Erik Griffin, Felipe Esparza and Bobby Lee.
Also in trailers – Red band trailer drops for Brandon Cronenberg’s ‘Possessor’

By way of nostalgia-filled Zoom calls, short-form YouTube series and Instagram Live videos, the casts of nearly two dozen shows have come together to reminisce, including stars from Friday Night Lights, The Office, Glee, Melrose Place and other series.

Before you know it, Hallmark will be knee-deep in Christmas.
But before you put on you jolly cap and decorate the tree, we still have some other celebrating to do.
Good Witch: Curse From a Rose airs Saturday, October 19 at 8/7c.
The Good Witch got its start with Halloween, and Middleton is going all out for the holiday. But someone visits Middleton with the hopes of turning their festivities upside down.
That someone is the aptly named Autumn Delaney, Cassie’s long-lost college roommate. From Cassie’s perspective, all is well, but unbeknownst to her (or is it?), Autumn harbors some ill will toward her old friend.
The Good Witch Season Finale Review: The Graduation
Bringing Autumn to life is film and television actress Lolita Davidovich, and she beautifully portrays someone who has lost their grounding force.

As art student Skye, Aimee Teegarden finds herself caught up in the deadly curse of The Tape in Paramount Pictures’ Rings. The inevitable meeting between Skye and Samara is one of my favorite scenes from the film, so I was excited to speak with Teegarden about smashing screens in that intense scene, working with Johnny Galecki, and what creeped her out the most on set.
Thanks for taking the time to talk with me today about Rings. I really enjoyed your character [Skye] in particular.
Aimee Teegarden: It was such a fun role—she [Skye] was so much fun to play. My dad was there [at the screening] with me last night and he was like, “Wow, you were really angry, weren’t you?”
Skye shares many scenes with Gabe, and it’s great to see Johnny Galecki play this totally different role than people know him as. What was it like working with Johnny in that capacity?...

So far, 2017 has not been kind to long-delayed horror releases. Remember The Bye Bye Man? What a dreadful way to kickstart another year of screams. Surely no other genre equivalent could dethrone such a paltry paranormal effort, right? You’d have to be a tone-deaf, spookless, convoluted bore to challenge the dumpster-fire we call The Bye Bye Man.
Enter F. Javier Gutiérrez’s Rings.
I wasn’t prepared for just How misguided a sequel Rings would end up being. “Maybe the four different rescheduled premiere dates were strategic,” I thought, “and not telling of Paramount’s inability to salvage Samara’s name.” What a blissfully ignorant life I led right before that famous VHS static kicked in, and my basement-level expectations were shattered by horrendous franchise misdealings.
