The film will be scripted by Mike Jones, who is apparently a deposed writer for Variety.
Produced by former Spiderman producer Avi Arad, you can add this new Popeye film to the ranks of wonders like The Smurfs, Garfield and Alvin and the Chipmunks — when has this ever worked out before? What’s the precedent of success to keep making films like this?
