Lionsgate has released the first brief clip from the final instalment in the incredibly popular Hunger Games saga, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. In it, District 13’s symbol of rebellion, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), wows to cease all of the grand speeches and finally put an end of President Snow (Donald Sutherland).
She shares this information with Jena Malone’s Joanna Mason – a fan-favourite character who was largely absent from Mockingjay – Part 1, but is expected to play a much larger role in this final film.
Will Katniss and the rebels follow through with their plan? If you’ve read the book you know of course, but the rest of us have to wait until November 20th. In the meantime, you can have a read of the official synopsis below.

This new viral marketing campaign for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part I is fantastic. Not too long ago, an address from President Snow (Donald Sutherland) threatened revolution from the districts with the captured Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) at his side. This time they're joined by another captive, Joanna Mason (Jena Malone) as President Snow calls for unity. However, the address is interrupted by a rogue transmission from a familiar face, attempting to keep the revolution alive by telling everyone that the Mockingjay lives. These are awesome, and we hope there are more to come leading up to the release. Watch! Here's the latest address from President Snow from The Hunger Games YouTube page: And this poster also accompanied the address for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part I: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part I is the first movie in the two-part finale of The Hunger Games franchise,...

Jena Malone has a rather impressive nude scene in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," and the actress shared a story about filming that scene as a guest on "Live with Kelly and Michael" on Wednesday (Nov. 27). It wasn't even a little bit sexy, apparently.
For her character of Joanna Mason in "Catching Fire," Malone had to perform a scene completely naked in an elevator. It was a rather interesting experience for the actress.
"We were actually shooting in a real hotel, and a real elevator, so they couldn't really shut down the entire hotel," Malone explained of the "Catching Fire" scene. "It's like 49 floors, a glass elevator, everybody can see in -- it's kind of a crazy thing ... I think at take 2, I'm bare-boned, and I'm about to leave the elevator. And the doors open and there's some guy that works at the hotel carrying a coffee cup holder and this mouth is just agape.

New Hunger Games 2,Catching Fire Joanna Mason actress revealed. According to a recent report from Collider, former Sucker Punch movie starlet Jena Malone has recently swept in and stolen the Joanna Mason movie role in the upcoming Catching Fire flick from previously reported frontrunner Zoe Aggeliki. Poor Zoe. Anyways, they say, Jena is currently in early talks to play the Joanna Mason character. Joanna is another former winner from District 7 who’s forced to compete in the new fight to the death. She's a fun character who wields axes and one-liners. Jena is also starring in a new NBC TV show series called 1600 Penn,so she'll have to balance, filming that along with Catching Fire, which is scheduled to start production in late September, and hits theaters on November 22nd, 2013.

After weeks of speculation, the role of Joanna Mason has finally been cast, and Jena Malone (Sucker Punch) will fill the former Hunger Games champion’s able shoes, in a role that will bleed into the third and final film Mockingjay.
She is known for her naked entrance in the book, and it’s definitely a good holiday for Malone to get a slice of the massive franchise based on the Suzanne Collins trilogy. Hunger Games: Catching Fire stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland and comes out November 22nd, 2013.

Breaking news, you guys. Jena Malone has been cast as the one and only Johanna Mason in the highly anticipated Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire. She will be joining the actually-awesome cast of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Wood Harrleson and Elizabeth Banks. Way to blow, Hunger Games casters. You ruined a future franchise by casting someone that was even insufferable in the early 2000s.

Actually, I wrote about the underwhelming actress way back in the day when I wrote about this movie In Our Nature. But more importantly isn't Johanna supposed to be a crafty bombshell? What happened to the pretty-legit rumor of Mia Wasikowska and Zoe Aggelicki. Then frickin' Jena Malone came out of nowhere. Ugh. I'm still hoping this is a joke and Naya Rivera is still being considered.
Then again, Johanna's whole deal is working the fact that people underestimate her.

And around the rumor mill we go. We reported last week that Mia Wasikowski was rumored to be in the running to play Joanna Mason in Hunger Games: Catching Fire, but alas, it is exactly that, just rumors, according to EW.com. She hasn’t been approached nor can she fit it into her schedule for this year. Now, that narrows it down to Zoe Aggeliki, or someone else to jump into the mix.
Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be directed by Francis Lawrence and star Jennifer Lawrence as returning champ Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as her co-champ Peeta Mellark, and Liam Hemsworth as Gail.

Zomg, you guys, there is some exciting Hunger Games news brewing. We've talked a lot about who should play Joanna Mason in the highly anticipated sequel Catching Fire. Personally, I was a huge fan of having Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke in the role, but I also don't hate the final two.

The final two actresses has come down to Mia Wasikowska and newcomer Zoe Aggeliki. Wasikowska has already been in tons of big name movies (Jane Eyre with Michael F.Assbender, Albert Nobbs with Glenn Close, Alice In Wonderland with Johnny Depp). Aggeliki isn't a bad choice either, she's a stunner and statuesque (like Joanna), plus it's always great when a newcomer gets big due to an already established franchise.
Either way, this news is a great sign that definitive casting is heating up,...
