Mark Althavan Andrews, better known as Sisqó, is a well-known music artist known for his 2000s hit, “Thong Song.” The songwriter led R&b group Dru Hill, and he gained popularity as a solo artist after releasing his album Unleash the Dragon in 1999. Unfortunately, Sisqó’s luck ran out after “Thong Song” was released. So, what happened? Here’s what he said.
Sisqó said he and his label ‘started bumping heads’ because he was ‘hard to work with’
Sisqó’s “Thong Song” became one of the catchiest hits of 2000, and fans anticipated hearing many more hits from the R&b artist. Unfortunately, his luck ran out quickly after attaining pop success. He gave an interview with Oprah: Where Are They Now? in 2016 and discussed how his record label considered him “hard to work with.”
“Once you get to that level of success, you have to play the game,” he said.

Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter is a landmark provocation that dares the country music establishment to look itself in the eye. Nashville has spent decades marginalizing Black women like Linda Martell and Rhiannon Giddens, and outright ignoring the likes of Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, and Reyna Roberts. Beyoncé, inspired at least partially by the ugly fallout from her appearance alongside the Chicks at the CMAs in 2016, is now playing a game of chicken with Music Row. Are they really going to ignore one of the most prominent Black artists of the last 20 years when she comes to the gates of their white picket fences? And, if so, how are they going to reconcile that with their insistence that of course we aren’t racist with the fact that Beyoncé has proven that she knows exactly what she’s doing and why.

In their new exclusive uInterview, Swv (Sisters With Voices) speak about their tour with the groups Jodeci and Dru Hill and their secrets to a successful tour.
The three women, Taj Johnson-George, Lelee Lyons and Coko Gamble, all agreed that the best way to ensure that the tour goes smoothly is to make sure that there are a lot of “Chick-fil-a and pajama parties.”
Johnson-George also shared that it is vital to stick “with the course and grow with it,” which, she admits, is “just such a blessing to be able to stay in this industry to even be able to say 31 years.” The two other ladies agreed with this, nodding their heads. She added, “We can’t even tell you what we did we just know we’ve been living and going.”
The group also discussed the new trend of throwing objects at singers while they are performing, which...

Nick Lachey is disappointed. It's only natural. The singer and professional partner Peta Murgatroyd were booted from Dancing With the Stars during week six, "A Night at the movies." The duo received a 26 from judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and guest Shania Twain. For their samba to "Wild Wild West" by Will Smith, Dru Hill and Kol Moe Dee. "Of course you're disappointed. You don't do something like this and want to go out earlier than the championship. That's human nature," Nick told E! News after the show. "But If I had to measure this in terms of effort and in terms of commitment I know that I gave it everything I had and tried as hard as I possibly could so...

In 1999, Barry Sonnenfeld's Wild Wild West hit theaters. It had the twelfth largest opening that year and was banking on the rising star that was Will Smith after he made Bad Boys, Independence Day and Men in Black. The film was, in fact, the movie Smith made after turning down The Matrix... perhaps it was the $170 million budget versus the $63 million the Wachowskis were playing with, but whatever it was, it seemed Wild Wild West was discussed just as much as The Matrix fifteen years ago, though for entirely different reasons. With that $170 million, Wild Wild West went on to gross only $222 million worldwide, split almost evenly between domestic and foreign markets. Reviews were dreadful and all I can remember was that title song blasting on the radio every five minutes and I never ended up seeing the movie, which ended up becoming the 17th highest grossing movie of...

Will Smith might be the world’s most energetic man. On the red — er, black — carpet at last night’s Men in Black 3 premiere, he exuberantly spoke with each reporter even as his publicist tried her best to move him down the line. But even a super-human movie star has limits — Smith told EW that though he really wanted to write Mib 3′s theme song, he worried that the extra responsibility would be “too much.” We pointed out that he did at least get the chance to perform the Fresh Prince rap on Graham Norton last weekend, and Smith responded with a booming laugh.
