Exclusive: Lionsgate and Morgan Spurlock’s Warrior Poets banner have sealed separate deals for Fight Church, the feature documentary tracking a group of Mixed Martial Arts-fighting pastors whose violent practices have sparked controversy within the Christian community.
Co-directed by Oscar-winner Daniel Junge (Saving Face, Beyond The Brick: A Lego Brickumentary) and Bryan Storkel (Holy Rollers: The True Story Of Card Counting Christians), Fight Church follows several Mma-battling ministers who preach from the pulpit and the octagon and even train fighters using the teachings of the Bible. Lionsgate sprang for North American VOD rights and will debut the film on iTunes and additional digital platforms on September 16, while Netflix will premiere it in multiple territories this Fall.
Given the success of faith-themed content and the controversial subject matter the topic is ripe for exploration; after Deadline premiered the trailer this spring, the film made headlines and drew heated debate online. Oscar-nominated...

The Aggression Scale Trailer. Steven C. Miller‘s The Aggression Scale (2012) movie trailer stars Ray Wise, Dana Ashbrook, Derek Mears, Jacob Reynolds, and Fabianne Therese. The Aggression Scale‘s plot synopsis: “Four heavily armed hitmen and two unusual teenagers go to war over $500,000 of stolen cash.”
God damn this film looks intense. I can not wait to watch this movie. I would go to war over $500,000 as well. If handled right, that amount of money could be life changing.
What is an agression scale:
a psychological test measuring the frequency of overt aggressive behaviors that may result in physical or psychological injury to others.
On the feel of The Aggression Scale:
Aggression…is described as being in the spirit of the 1980s canon and in the vein of A History of Violence but with the teens as the heroes, taking on four hitmen over $500,000 in stolen cash.
The Aggression Scale also stars Boyd Kestner,...

Inspiration is the gift Matt Hamill has had fighting alongside him since birth. Born deaf, Hamill has risen to great success in the world of mixed martial arts, achieving heights few thought possible in Ufc rankings. Before that, though, he became a three-time Ncaa champion in amateur wrestling while attending Rit in Rochester. This is the story told in Oren Kaplan's film. Simply entitled Hamill, it tells the powerful and invigorating story of young Matt Hamill's struggles with his disability and the people in his life who have kept him motivated to overcome this major obstacle. Hamill is a film that emboldens its audience, often in inventive and novel ways, and it never allows itself to fall into the misguided trappings such biopics tend to incorporate. At the heart of Kaplan's film, screenplay written by Joseph McKelheer and Eben Kostbar, is the relationship Hamill had with his grandfather,...
