This writer got a sneak peek during a private screening held earlier this week at the ‘W’ Hotel in Hollywood, CA, of director Clint Lien's psycho-thriller Behind Your Eyes, and while this won't be a full-fledged review as the film is in the final stages of color correction and editing, we have been covering the production from the beginning (see our set report from this past January here) so here’s a brief tease.
Vesuvio Entertainment's Behind Your Eyes is full of red herrings, and while donning the outfit of a slasher film, it reveals itself by minute twenty-one to be something much more. Writer and actor Daniel Fanaberia delivers not only a compelling script but also a commanding performance, and not unlike the lead in last year's The Collector (actor Josh Stewart), he paints a multi-layered cinematic canvas of a complicated man battling his own demons, who finds...

It’s January 15, 2010, when this scribe arrives to the snowy set of executive producer Greg. H Sims’ psycho-thriller Behind Your Eyes. Shooting for 14 days on location in Lake Arrowhead, CA (with additional days in and around the nearby environs of Los Angeles) and written by Daniel Fanaberia, the flick revolves around ‘A couple. A kidnapping. A secret. A weekend to meet the parents becomes a weekend of trying to stay alive for perfect Steven and Erika’ (according to the production’s PR).
The film stars Tom (Puppetmaster: Axis of Evil) Sandoval and Swedish actress Frida Farrell as the unlucky duo. Writer Fanaberia and actors Remy O’Neil, Lisa R. Segal, and Arthur Roberts round out the film’s cast.

Following up on our news item last week regarding executive producer Greg H. Sims’ home-invasion thriller Behind Your Eyes, this scribe contacted Sims to get the 411 on the Southern California-shooting production. Written by Daniel Fanaberia and directed by Clint Lien, Behind Your Eyes is the first in-house feature for new production and distribution entity Vesuvio Entertainment Corporation, of which Sims is CEO (not Tri Coast as originally reported).
Writer and actor Fanaberia (who was brought to Sims’ attention by his turn in The Carpenter Part One: And So They Die, an indie film which Vesuvio has picked up for distribution and for sequels) pitched Behind Your Eyes to Sims in the fall of ’09. In an insanely quick turnaround, Sims attached director Lien, and Behind Your Eyes went before the cameras earlier this month.

Welcome to Elliotsville. It’s like your typical American small town, except the residents are kinda robots. Okay, they’re not so much kinda, they’re pretty much robots. So what happens when you take that set-up and add a gang of sexy female bikers (cause if they were fat and ugly, it just wouldn’t be any fun) and some gun-toting redneck types (I know what you’re thinking: what, there are other types of rednecks?) into the mix? Hopefully lots of blood, gunplay, and exploding robots. Check out a trailer for Leigh Scott’s “Chrome Angels” below, which features some nifty gunplay and lots and lots of exploding squibs. Starring Stacey Dash, Paul Le Mat, Frida Show, Eliza Swenson, Kristen Quintrall, Jackey Hall, Dean N. Arevalo, Collin Galyean, Brent Lydic, and Monti Domingue. Written and directed by Leigh Scott. On February 24th, famed producer Roger Corman and the director of the upcoming Wrong Turn 3 bring to life an ancient creature when Anchor Bay Entertainment unleashes Cyclops on DVD February 24, 2009. Eric Roberts, Kevin Stapleton, Frida Farrell and Craig Archibald star and this release promises graphic scenes not seen during its original Sci-Fi Channel broadcast. A time of mighty gladiators, lusty women, abundant wealth . and a ferocious one-eyed monster that slaughters those foolish enough to enter his forest domain. The corrupt Emperor Tiberius has a plan to please the bloodlust of the people: capture the creature and unleash him in the arena against his condemned slaves, including wrongfully imprisoned General Marcus...

The pairing of Roger Corman, the 20th century’s king of B-moviemeisters, and the Sci Fi Channel, which doles out cubes of processed cheese week after week, should occur far more often. Not necessarily because their collaborations are that noteworthy, but rather because it seems predestined that these two work together.
The man responsible for The Saga Of The Viking Women And Their Voyage To The Waters Of The Great Sea Serpent (credited here as producer alongside his wife Julie) and the network that churned out S.S. Doomtrooper? They were made for each other, regardless of the results.
