Warning: contains major finale spoilers for ITV’s Red Eye.
By the end of ITV’s Red Eye, Richard Armitage’s character Dr Matthew Nolan had been awake for (approximate calculation) a gazillion hours. Even if he hadn’t been shot saving Hana (Jing Lusi) from that bullet, he’d still have ended the series in a hospital bed due to exhaustion-related organ failure and having blood sugar lower than the Mariana Trench.
Dr Nolan will pull through though, and when he does, he may require a lucid breakdown of what the hell just happened. From car crashes to stapler-surgery to a rogue CIA plot to end the Anglo-China nuclear partnership, all the way to that heroic bullet jump, here’s how everything landed after Red Eye’s surprisingly tight finale.
What Was on the Nano Sim?

"You wanted to get in my head? I got in yours!" Saban Films has unveiled an official trailer for a gripping survival thriller titled Wildcat, both written & directed by American filmmaker Jonathan W. Stokes. This hasn't shown up at any festivals, but will be released in theaters in April this spring. Georgina Campbell stars as an ambitious reporter stationed in the Middle East who is taken captive after her convoy is ambushed. She is confronted by the trauma of her past and must find a way to bring down the militants who incarcerated her and escape safely. The film's cast includes Luke Benward, Ibrahim Renno, Mido Hamada, and Ali Olomi. This actually looks badass! The premise is just a tad cheesy, but the footage looks pretty damn cool so far. “Veronica Mars” was a slap to the face of high school dramas when it premiered on Upn in 2004. Creator Rob Thomas took the well-worn “who killed the pretty teenager?” whodunnit and hard-boiled it, following a traumatized girl desperately trying to harden herself to the world’s harsh realities as she tried to solve the case. As a heroine, Veronica (an immediately magnetic Kristen Bell) is typically pretty and blonde, but also deeply cynical, furious, and stubborn to a fault. Between trying to reconcile the facts of her best friend’s murder and her own sexual assault, Veronica Mars — a name her friends and enemies alike tend to say in full, such is her outsized stature — spent her evening hours doing stakeouts with a taser in her purse. Outside Veronica herself, the series also took an unflinching look at the inherently imbalanced power dynamics of “a town without a middle class...

Get ready for some magic.
NBC's long-awaited series, Emerald City has finally made it to the small screen.
It's a reimagining of Frank L. Baum's 14 Wizard of Oz books, but it's nothing like you've ever seen before.
Dorothy may still be swept up in a tornado, but the land she lands in isn't anything like where Judy Garland landed in 1939's "The Wizard of Oz".
This Oz is much more dark, and this Dorothy (Adria Ajorna) has a lot more grit.
And did you check out her dog? He certainly isn't going to fit in a little wicker basket.
Still, director Tarsem Singh, who filmed the series non-episodically, like a movie, threw in a few Easter eggs for lovers of the original film.
We've already seen Emerald City Season 1 Episode 1, "The Beast Forever" and Emerald City Season 1 Episode 2, "Prison of the Abject", both of which make up the two-hour premiere,...

Florence Kasumba commanded attention in the one Captain America: Civil War scene she was in, and she's set to turn heads again in NBC's Emerald City. Check out the first photo of her as East, a Wicked Witch. In Civil War, Kasumba was credited only as "Security Chief" but fans familiar with Black Panther's story from Marvel comics knew she was likely one of the Dora Milaje, a portion of Wakandan society held in high regard who serve as deadly bodyguards for the King. (HitFix's Emily Rome recently delved into their past.) While we hope to see much more of her, and other Dora Milaje, in Marvel's Black Panther film you can look forward to seeing Kasumba weekly on your television soon. Vincent D'Onofrio has been set to play The Wizard of Oz in NBC's upcoming ten-episode, straight-to-series drama "Emerald City". The project marks a reunion of sorts with his "The Cell" director Tarsem Singh.
Adria Arjona plays a twenty-year-old Dorothy Gale who, along with her K9 police dog, are transported to the mystical land of Oz, a place of competing kingdoms, lethal warriors, dark magic and a bloody battle for supremacy.
D'Onofrio's Wizard is the enigmatic leader of Emerald City, a man of science in a world of magic, he rules through inspiration, fear and a tenuous accord with the grand witches. In the series, Dorothy must become a headstrong warrior who holds the land's fate in her hands.
David Schulner and Shaun Cassidy are executive producing the project which also stars Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Ana Ularu, Gerran Howell, Jordan Loughran and Mido Hamada.

Chicago – I understand why they did it. But that doesn’t make it right to do.
In order to earn sign-off from Chris Kyle’s family and the U.S. Navy – and to appease the patriotic American public – “American Sniper” needed to make the U.S. military’s most lethal sniper nicer than he actually was and generalize a people as people you should hate.
Rating: 3.0/5.0
Military men and women make great sacrifices to protect us at home and we should be very appreciative. Some pay the ultimate price with their lives. But rather than being truly honest to the subject matter, the film glorifies it, sugarcoats the truth and creatively changes details to assure we see the hero Kyle was without most of the much darker anti-hero he also was.
Disturbingly, “American Sniper” director Clint Eastwood decided to ignore Kyle’s lies like they never existed. Kyle said in...

This Sunday on Showtime’s Homeland, something I thought wouldn’t happen anytime soon instead did, while something I dreaded was sure to happen didn’t. And that is why this show rocks.
The episode opens with Roya intercepting Brody to stress that since they lost a man in the Gettysburg attack, he’ll need to play an even larger role moving forward. When Brody balks, she assures, “Things are going to move quickly now… This is no time to bug. We’re almost there.” And to that end, she directs him to “keep Walden very happy.” That last bit puzzles Carrie and Quinn,...

Terry O'Quinn as Gavin Doran in "666 Park Avenue" (ABC/Andrew Eccles)
ABC‘s slate of new shows for fall has a strange flavor to it, and it’s going to be a bumpy ride. The network has about as many new shows as returning ones (if you count all the midseasons), and a good percentage of the returning offerings are a year old or less, making this look a bit like a rebuilding year.
Not only is it a rebuilding year, but it’s the year of bringing back every actor and actress who ever had a decent run on a show before. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a network’s new season slate that was so crammed with people returning from something else. If you can’t make it good, I suppose, make sure viewers recognize the faces.
It’s tricky to get a solid feel...

The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the third one announced. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on ABC.
An odd year for the once mighty juggernaut which can still pack 'em in. It had surprise success stories with "Once Upon a Time" and "Revenge", the latter becoming an unexpected international hit, and several shows have gotten renewals despite more modest numbers. Still, with it battling with NBC for the third and fourth position overall, the network has to introduce ten shows over the course of the season in the hope of getting a few stickers.
Several other pilots didn't make the final cut and won't be seen include the fashion label dynasty soap "Americana", ABC's update of the 90's "Beauty and the Beast" TV series, the Roland Emmerich-produced thriller "Dark Horse", the...

Last Resort
According to the Official ABC Description: 500 feet beneath the ocean’s surface, the U.S. ballistic missile submarine Colorado receive their orders. Over a radio channel, designed only to be used if their homeland has been wiped out, they’re told to fire nuclear weapons at Pakistan.
Captain Marcus Chaplin (Andre Braugher) demands confirmation of the orders only to be unceremoniously relieved of duty by the White House. Xo Sam Kendal (Scott Speedman) finds himself suddenly in charge of the submarine and facing the same difficult decision. When he also refuses to fire without confirmation of the orders, the Colorado is targeted, fired upon, and hit. The submarine and its crew find themselves crippled on the ocean floor, declared rogue enemies of their own country. Now, with nowhere left to turn, Chaplin and Kendal take the sub on the run and bring the men and women of the Colorado to an exotic island.

ABC is shaking things up for its 2012-2013 schedule.
"Revenge" is heading over to Sunday nights at 9 p.m. Et, the slot the now dead "Desperate Housewives" occupied up until last week. Old standby "Grey's Anatomy" is staying put, as is "Scandal," but they're paired with newcomer "Last Resort."

ABC went on a bit of a pilot pick-up spree today for the 2012-2013 TV season, ordering five new dramas and four new comedies to series.
The five dramas are "Last Resort," "666 Park Avenue," "Nashville," "Zero Hour" and "Red Widow" (formerly "Penoza") -- and that's not counting "Mistresses" starring Alyssa Milano, which was already ordered to series.
On the comedy front, there's "Family Tools," "The Neighbors," "Malibu Country" and "How to Live With Your Parents For the Rest of Your Life" (which we can't even begin to abbreviate, but hope they'll rename so we don't have to).
Here's the scoop on the dramas:
"Last Resort" is an action-adventure drama from "The Shield" creator Shawn Ryan. Shot in Hawaii, which subs for the South Pacific, it revolves around the crew of a U.S. nuclear submarine that disobeys orders and becomes a target for everyone from Nato to the mob. Andre Braugher,...

Terra Nova: Where Do I Know Them From?
by Kelly Kelemen for TV.com
Terra Nova just roared onto Fox's Monday lineup, backed by a hefty 9 figure budget from one Steven Spielberg, as the show hopes to garner a loyal fan base of thrill seekers and dino-enthusiasts and become the next Lost. But what the show doesn't have is that big name star that you know from countless other outlets such as Zooey Deschanel, Jane Lynch, Simon Cowell, Omar Epps, etc. So if you're busy putting your finger on actor's faces during the broadcast, desperately trying to place where they're from, here's a cheat sheet that might jog your memory.
Jason O’Mara (as Jim Shannon)
The show’s main character and Irish lad is no stranger to the little screen, if we can call it that anymore.

Sky have announced that the much-anticipated Terra Nova, from director Steven Spielberg, Peter Chernin, Brannon Braga, René Echevarria and Aaron Kaplan, will launch with a two hour special on Sky 1 HD this October, within days of its Us launch.
The series follows an ordinary family on an incredible journey back in time to prehistoric Earth as a small part of a daring experiment to save the human race. In the year 2149, the world is dying. The planet is overdeveloped and overcrowded, with the majority of plant and animal life extinct. The future of mankind is in doubt, and its only hope for survival is in the distant past. When scientists unexpectedly discovered a fracture in time that made it possible to construct a portal into primeval history, the bold notion was born to resettle humanity in the past – a second chance to rebuild civilization and get it right this time.

Over the last few months, I have had the opportunity to watch over 30 new 2011 TV shows in advance, and have narrowed down the best new fall series’ in two categories: addictive and intriguing (must-see weekly viewing worthy of potential overanalysis), and guilty pleasurable (watch, enjoy, move on with your week).
*Caveat: I did not have access to NBC screeners; thus, none of their new shows were eligible to make this list.
Addictive & Intriguing
1. Once Upon a Time (ABC) @OnceABC
Premiere: 10/23/11
Starring: Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin, Robert Carlyle, Josh Dallas, Lana Parrilla, Alan Dale and Giancarlo Esposito.
Created/produced/written by former Lost producers/writers Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis, with writer/producer and sci-fi icon Jane Espenson (Buffy, BSG, Warehouse 13).
Once Upon a Time is a very clever, whimsical and dark spin on familiar tales from childhood. It is easily the most unique series to debut this fall, with...

The woman who won't stay in her car when told, or searches out the creepy noise in her attic armed only with a wet towel is perhaps the most mocked genre norm in the entertainment world. We've all laughed at the stupidity of people in horror movies, rolled our eyes when they trip while running, and yelled at the screen as some damsel straight from Pilates class abandons the relative safety of whatever hidey-hole the protagonists have managed as she flies into hysterics.
The thing is, no one, barring those who really despise the entire genre, is actually complaining about any of this. It's the game we're playing, and whatever the horror set-up, eventually someone is probably going to have to do something stupid. The film in which the gorgeous co-ed hears a strange noise, knowing someone is after her, and runs out...

My prediction for the fall 2011 season: record-breaking heat, with a 100% chance of sexy. Well, on TV anyway. See, even as the weather begins to cool down, the small screen will be heating up as a mixture of hotties both established and up-and-coming will grace our TV sets in the quickly-approaching crop of fall shows.
From fairytale princes and teenage witches to supernatural hunters and ‘60s playboys, this fall season offers up a titillating assortment of hunky new characters – all of them brought to life by a group of fetching performers who will no doubt have us drooling at our TV screens come September. Below I’ve compiled a list of 12 to get your tongues wagging.
Note: The 2011 fall season is also lamentably short on performers of color, which is sadly reflected in the following list. Nevertheless, while only three of the twelve actors I highlight below belong to a racial minority,...

It’s been well known to those of us following the buildup to the network premiere of Terra Nova that the cast roster wasn’t complete as we knew it, and Fox proved that this week by announcing the addition of some new cast members: Simone Kessell, Ashley Zukerman, and Emilia Burns. All three newbies are Australian, by the way. Please see our updated cast bios section for more information on these actors and join the Terra Nova Forums to talk about them.
Simone Kessell is joining Terra Nova as Alicia Washington, who The Hollywood Reporter says is billed as being second-in-command to Stephen Lang’s Commander Taylor, which makes her de-facto next in line as far as colony authority. Kessell is no stranger to the small screen, having had previous parts on Fringe, CSI: Miami, Reaper and other shows. Her character is said to be a “major player” on Terra Nova,...

Here is the first look at some new promo art for Terra Nova, which premiere's Monday September 26 on Fox at 8/7 central. I had a chance to check out the first full part of the promo at Comic-Con this year and I really enjoyed what I saw. It looks a lot better than I expected. The dinosaur CGI and movement was really impressive. Be sure to check out the full-length promo Here.
Here's the full synopsis and details for the series:
From executive producers Steven Spielberg, Peter Chernin, Brannon Braga, René Echevarria and Aaron Kaplan comes an epic family adventure 85 million years in the making.
Terra Nova follows an ordinary family on an incredible journey back in time to prehistoric Earth as a small part of a daring experiment to save the human race. In the year 2149, the world is dying. The planet is overdeveloped and overcrowded, with the majority of plant and animal life extinct.

At this year's Comic-Con, Steven Spielberg revealed that he had a story and writer for Jurassic Park 4 and expected to make it in the next two or three years.
Can't wait that long for some Spielberg dinosaur action? Then you're in luck, as Terra Nova is on its way to the small screen. With the legendary filmmaker among its executive producers, it will debut in the USA on Fox on September 26 and in the UK on Sky1 sometime this autumn.
The series - looking like a sort of cross between Jurassic Park, Primeval and Lost - opens on a dying Earth in 2149 when, in an attempt to save the human race, people are being sent through a fracture in time to form new colonies. They end up 85million years in the past, in a tropical paradise that also happens to be home to dinosaurs.

My first panel of the day was for Steven Spielberg's long awaited sci-fi series Terra Nova, which stars Jason O'Mara and Stephen Lang. The only star among the panel was Lang along with producers Rene Echevarria, Brandon Braga, Kevin Blank and Jose Molina. Unlike many panels, we were treated to the entire first half of the pilot episode. Unfortunately, producer Steven Spielberg was not on hand to talk about the show, but his imprint was evident in the pilot episode.
All I can say is that everything about this show, from the pracitcal sets to the CGI, is Epic. The dinosaurs are amazing, the CGI looks as though a lot of time and money was spent in their creation. The Australian locations look simply beautiful and I can not wait to see more of it. This is going to be one heck of a cool show to watch on a weekly basis.
